I'm a self taught baker who makes cakes just for family and close friends. I was looking through UA-cam trying to get ideas for a birthday cake to make for my best friends, grandsons 3rd birthday. He absolutely LOVES dinosaurs!!! After seeing yours I didn't have to look anywhere else! I knew I wanted to give it a go at trying to make this cake for him! It was just so darn cute, I knew I couldn't nor need to look for any other cake to make!! And I'd have to say I'm proud of the job I did on it! It turned out really cute. But the GREATEST and BEST part of making this cake was seeing my best friends grandsons face!!! The excitement and joy in is little face was my favorite thing!!! He absolutely without a doubt loved his dinosaur birthday cake his auntie Coe made for him. (that's what he calls me cuz he can't fully say my name❤☺ lol) Thank you for sharing your dinosaur cake tutorial!!!
After watching this in amazement, I decided to make it for my daughter’s birthday. She LOVED it and all of the guests were blown away. Thank you so much for sharing this and making this girl’s dream come true!

- I love the fact that it doesn't have too many colours- I am just about to throw out a bag full of expired fondant in a variety of colours
I love your work & I think you're overly critical of yourself, you didn't spoil it at all. (Although, I didn't really understand all the extra tiny horns around his frill - Triceratops means '3 horned face'). Your vids are really helpful to many people, not just bakers & cake decorators, you also inspire artists who work with different clays & mixed media. Best wishes.

Love your cakes! I'd love to try this one, please give measurements of how much cake batter for each pan ( 10 inch and 7 inch)? It looks like you baked one 10 inch and one 7 inch then sliced each in half?

Hi Dawn, this one was without a template although I do often find using templates / images as guides is really helpful.
After watching your vids for a while I decided to give this a go... followed this and tbh I loved the cake even though it was only a test/experiment.

I have a question. My first time going to make a cake . Do I make it the day before the party or that morning? If I make it the day before how do I store the cake ? On the counter over night covered or in the fridge? Thank you
If you're just storing it overnight I would leave it covered on the counter ☺️

Amazing cake, I am looking to recreate it for my son's birthday. I had a question, do I need to use willow diamond dust or can I just use a green dust similar as I can't locate the willow diamond dust anywhere.
Hey Zara, nono, you can use any dust / colour you want, same for the fondant / colour of the dinosaur :)
How much time in advance could you make this cake? (including the sugar paste that is)
