I love the vulnerability and the sincerity in this video. Thank you for sharing how you feel and doing it in such a classy way. I am shocked at whatever sorcery they did to make butter toffee turn to dark chocolate. I do think there needs to be a disclaimer educating on their product. My guess is they found a way to use oxidation to their benefit
Thank you so much! I just wish brands understand that we expect authenticity but at this point idk how they want us to respond to this.. not sure how to feel sometimes, it’s a little discouraging
You looked great & that shade suited you perfectly. I really loved the entire look plus the hair. I really liked that you gave such a transparent/ open & honest review..
I absolutely love this review! As a brown skin girl I get so frustrated with the make up industry. And it might swatch similar most likely lighter to the color of my skin, but it’s not the color that it was advertised to be.
If you watch Sephora’s powder foundation shade match tutorial, apparently the disparity between the color in the pan and the color on the body is par for the course with all pressed powder foundations because emollients in the skin deepen the pigment. When you’re trying to match yourself, never choose based off a match with the color in the pan; always go lighter. On the body, the powder will deepen in color.
Thank you so much for this insight! Will do, however my message still stands in regards to the actual action of going to look for makeup and not seeing your complexion represented anywhere which was and kind of still is a issue to date.
Yeah i ordered mines online and picked it up in Sephora and had to bring it back because it was too dark but it looked by color online but and even in the pan it looked like my color but once i swatched it no mam. But i got the right color now
Omg I thought I was seeing things when I was on the Sephora website cause I was like why is the color so dark but it really isn’t. I’m so glad you talked about this
I think they thought that if people saw what it looked like instead of what it will look like once it's on, that they wouldn't be interested. I still believe they should've just told the truth.
You have gained a new follower! Thank you for being able to articulate my thoughts on representations within the deeper complexioned community. That alone turned me away from this line. However, I will go and give it a shot from your view! Thank you!
Thank you for your support🤍 I really want to be very transparent in my videos and say exactly how I’m feeling in real time 🙌🏾 I’m glad you watched the whole thing.
Looks great on you! It is good you had an open mind even though it seemed like it was going to be another lie. Glad it worked beautifully for you. By the way, what a gorgeous skin color you have!
My dear I don't ever want you to say, you're not trying to be difficult. Your not in anyway being difficult. Your reaction to this foundation is wanted. They are promoting a lie with the colors for women of color.
Loved this review. People who are not getting your point are those who only care about themselves. The shade matched you so well yet you voiced out for those deeper than your skin tone and can fall victim to the false advertisement. I am glad you talked about it. More people need to think about others and call out brands so that the situation can improve.
I try to find a you tube video of someone who's reviewing the foundation of interest and have the same complexion as mine hoping that they mention what shade that they are using (sometimes they don't, hate that).
The color is so off for his brand... i love that it works well but then the color is just tooo offfff... so just gotta go w/the closet color that matches the skin. Idk y it gives orangey color off the powder after putting it on.
The color isn’t what it is in the pan, it’s what it looks like on the skin. The color image online is meant to reflect what it looks like when applied.
Exactly my point, it is confusing to the consumer. All I was asking for is transparency because the inability to have inclusivity for poc is very minimal
@@soooiceyartistry It’s very hard to get the panned product to accurately reflect what it looks like on the skin depending on the milling of pigments. This is a bigger problem with dark tones by virtue of the quantity of pigment used. This is more of an issue for cheaper brands.
Honestly I do t think so because I saw other people’s videos and that’s what it looked like. Don’t get me wrong it’s possible but from what I’m seeing the color is not rich in the pan but on the skin it appears darker.
I applaud you sis!!
Thank you for standing up for what actually represents our women of color! 🗣 Call a spade a spade honeyyy! 👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you beautiful! That’s what we have to do🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

I think if it they show it really light online people will think it's not their shade and will end up not buying it when it is actually their shade
Exactly!

Girl I thought the same thing like what are y’all doing 😂😂😂 and of course somebody had to do it🙌🏾
Hi, lovely review. You look like the rapper Flo Milli, you both look like barbies🥰 Did this powder break you out? My skin is mad sensitive 😒
Thank you so much ☺️ and I don’t have sensitive skin also I did not break out my skin I actually use this regularly!
I’m brown skinned I tried to color match and literally was like nooo because I could find my shade glad I watched this
Couldn’t *
Of course, glad I could help🤍
They have 2 different deep 5s deep 5 N and dark 5 nr. Looks like you got the 5 NR
I wud have been fooled myself! I wud never pick that up becuz its too light in the compact but it works magically! Ur beautiful!
Thank you so much and see I knew I wasn’t the only one thinking this😂 had to share my thoughts

Highly agree and it’s because it causes confusion!

Yes hunny this powder looks good on you. I'm dark skin also
How are poc supposed to match correctly with shades like this?
Very difficult actually I’ll do an updated video on how to shade match!
Thanks for the review sis!!!! Definitely gone choose these two shades!!!💕💐
Hi my dear. If I can ask a question where did you get your tall shelves?
Hey beautiful! I got them from ikea!
Looks great on you! It is good you had an open mind even though it seemed like it was going to be another lie. Glad it worked beautifully for you. By the way, what a gorgeous skin color you have!
Thank you so much for this comment 🤍

I’m using deep 5 in the video, yes!
I liked this thank you
Thank you for watching🤍
That might of been a mistake in labeling because other people used the darker shade and it was exactly as shown
🌹🌹🌹🌹👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you love🤍

@@jamilleherrod7883 cool, let me how it goes! I actually would like to know your experience.
Btw you are absolutely beautiful!!!!!!!
Powder foundations oxidize…. So they appear lighter but turn darker once it hits your skin.
Very eloquently worded video
Thank you🤍
