- My 1991 BMW 318is, powered by an M42B18. It's a little loud for my tastes, so I'm thinking of welding in another straight-through muffler or resonator.
Mods include: ARP head studs, .120" MLS head gasket, M20 flywheel and clutch, modified M50 turbo manifold, .42/.63 T3 Turbo off of a Volvo 240 (10psi at the time of this video), 3" turbo back exhaust, Megasquirt 2, 60lb fuel injectors, cheap generic 24x12x3 intercooler. Many more mods planned.
Video taken with a phone, so excuse the quality.

Bro. It kinda sounds like an Ej25. Thats sick
Tye Varnes sounds like a subaru
unequal headers. And any car can sound like a subie. ;)
Definitely a 2.0L stroker for it to be sounding like that 😂
Yeah sounds like a Subaru 🤔
Sounds loke a mix of an evo and a subie
Lol ttue
hi i would like to talk to you about the e30
sounds good, looks slow, slower than my stock 318i.
Sure mate xD
@@tommeiner9983 it looks slow. Probably needs tuning to properly utilize the upgrades.
What exhaust setup does it have? Sounds awesome.
Home made. 3"
Subaru engine? 😂🙈🤔
Whats the milage on your M42? Im looking to buy a stage 2 clutch soon.. So might as well start buying parts to sustain a turbo right? The only thing that makes my project iffy is that it has about 200,XXX millage on it.. Is there a way you can email me some more info about your build? You can find me on instagram (User Name: Spradtastic_)
***** My engine has somewhere in the range of 200k on it. The smart money is on an M20 flywheel and aftermarket clutch setup as an upgrade. It's cheaper than an aftermarket M42 clutch and you get to ditch the porky dual mass flywheel too. Check out my build thread on r3vlimited (username varg) or my instagram @turbovarg for more info, send me a PM on r3vlimited and I can give you any info you want.
+turbovarg will a m20 fly wheel fit to the stock m42?
adssadasd sdadasda yes, but you need an M20 starter motor to go with it.
@@lakeshorerides he stills owns it
