I like the thrasher quite a bit. Flat diacs fit in my hand well and the thrasher works well for me
I prefer the thrasher, flight is the same as the hades, and you don’t have the McBeth tax.
Feels very different in hand
Thrasher is my favorite disc. I have 20 different thrashers and 3 hades. They don’t fly anywhere close to the same.
The Hades is flippy and the trashed is stable to flexy
The Hades I have definitely flies more stable than the numbers would make you think.
I really like the Zeus. I added an easy 40 feet to my drive when I get ahold of it and throw it well.
The Protos were great. Held very true to the flight numbers. Every run since has been more over stable. Wish they could go back to those Protos
I have a lil z hades that’s very flippy
It's funny reading the previous comments and different experiences - I guess it's a combination of different runs and each person having a unique throw. Not just speed but typical nose angle, off axis torque, etc.
My experience - I max around at 320-330' given no effects of wind, elevation, and open space for full flight (RHBH). Thrasher is my go to, I bag two in Big Z. One a bit newer and so slightly more stable. I can throw these on slight hyzer and they will flip up, drift right and finish straight for the more beat in disc, finish slightly left for the newer one. A real nice S turn giving full flight. On an anhyzer release my older one will hold a steady left to right slow turn the whole flight, the newer one will finish straight or maybe slightly left.
Hades is slightly more stable and mainly fills the same spot when I have a moderate head wind. Full no wind full flight I release it on a slight anhyzer and get a full flight, tending to more left finish, and slightly more distance than Thrasher.
Strive is one I've recently picked up and am trying to figure out. Interestingly it typically has both more high speed turn and more low speed fade. On a flat release it's an exaggerated S turn, drifting far right before slowly fading back to finish on the line. I believe it will hold more distance for me once it beats in a little, although the Royal plastic seems like it will not easily change. I do like that it has a reliable late fade no matter how hard I force it over, where the Thrasher will not stop drifting right.
I have a domey pop top Hades from a couple of years ago. Fantastic flip up, glide and reliable finish. I also have a Hades from the same time period that is flat. It is my overstable one.
The first few runs of ESP Hades were awesome, had some dome and god good turn but reliable fade too. Now they’re either overstable or flippy as all hell with no happy medium
I bought a Malta a few months back and I love it! From my local PIAS and without the Paul McBeth price tag most of his other discs come with, so it is my only PM line disc. I do wish it were a bit more overstable like the numbers state on the disc, but it's still a nice trusty disc for getting around some trees.
I like the Thrasher. Strive is way to flippy but me now, but my son crushes it as his forehand disc.
I have the same exact Hades and it, for me, has no turn whatsoever but my arm speed is beginner to intermediate so.... I was disappointed in it and rarely use it now.
Play with the weights the max weights are stable. 170 - 172 is money for me the 168 is a roller disc
I find the slender profile of the esp hades for the size of my hand makes getting it truly nose down very difficult, but when i get it right the turn really shows.
I just discovered the Hades as it was on sale at my local shop and I love it as a forehand disc.
I throw the hades in big z plastic which seems to be the less flippy version of it. I’ll also fan grip it to avoid it turning into a roller. For me I can get lots of distance with very low effort.
Had trouble finding GStar Terns - my long-time fave distance driver, so started switching to Hades. Proto was awesome, but I do find the more current runs to be more stable. Running a Ti Hades and just starting to beat it in...but starting to get better results.
Please try the proto or Ti Hades
Have you tried the Vanish from Axiom yet? It's numbers are similar to these I think and I love it for an early turn but reliable fade. Both a positive and a negative about the mold is that it's one of the more inconsistent among the MVP/Axiom lineup that I've tried. Obviously you'd like it to be the same every time but the silver lining is I've found that I can bag a few of them in different plastics for different levels of early turn. They all pretty reliably fade at the end though.
Love the hades. Got a TI one and it’s my bomber. Little turn and little fade
Out of the 3 discs which discs are the firmest and most flexible?
I don't throw anywhere near 450 & my hades will usually flip up and ride a bit to the right before finishing lightly at the end of it's flight. A more overstable one could be cool though, maybe I'll give this run a try!
If your looking for a disc to fly like these numbers 12/6/-3/2, go with a tried and trued Thrasher at 12/5/-3/2....
i hit my first ace with a hades. i will always have love for it.
My hades is stable/overstable on backhand but perfectly flippy on forehand. I prefer the Scorch for backhand distance driver (11 6 -2 2).
The Malta is excellent. Preference my guy
Maltas are money. Crazy that everybody gave up on them
In your opinion I throw a proto malta and a 6claw esp they are the second best mids in my opinion next to the buzz
All discs 11 speed and faster are inconsistent from run to run. You’ll find hades that flip into rollers outa the box for someone with 350 feet of power. You’ll find hades that don’t flip at 400+. Distance driver purchasing is always a gamble. OTB and others showing profile pictures to see parting line height and dome really helps to try to find something you’re looking for but you can never be sure.
Have you tried the Wave ?
I have like 4 Proto Hades. It's my favourite distance driver. I don't really enjoy the stock ESP runs though. I'm hoping to find a run that can recreate the proto flight.
I don't like them because of what you saw here. The ESP seems to be way more stable than the proto.
Maybe that color or run matters. Have one the same color. It seems stable as well.
Out of the three discs which has the lowest and highest parting lines?
my hades flips like crazy.
Hades has the largest rim/rim width at 2.3 while the Hades and Strive are both at 2.2. Based on their Rim width measurements Hades should be listed as a 13 speed and Strive and Orbital should be listed as 12 speeds.
My Hades was MUCH floppier than that a while back. Might be more usable now
My Hades flies like this, but Strives are just too good!
I’m going guess that since the strive is your favorite driver that it’s the most “beat in”.
I throw the Hades a lot. I have always had mine fly like that till they break in. Luna,Zeus,Athena,Anax. Hades,Malta. That’s my best to least
Opposite experience for me. Hades is my roller and my neutron orbital flies like a -2, 2. MVP is more consistent(ly more stable) so I'd guess you got an oddy from discraft.
My big z Hades has always been as stable as the big z Zeus I bought at the same time. I've got destroyers and bosses that flip more.
Big z hades are the most stable run
Every hades I had was stable stable.
The Malta is the greatest disc ever made
My hades has a flight path like that
My Hades is way less flippy than Thrashers and has the most pronounced fade of any of my distance drivers.
I bought an early Hades and find it pretty damn stable. Does not follow its flight numbers.
I love the Hades it flys like a 10 year old destroyer..
Yours is way more stable than mine. Mine is a baby hyzer to turnover flight
My hades was pretty beat up but was super super flippy would just turn and burn
My furthest thrown disc for 2 years. Never leaves the bag.
My ESP Hades has absolutely no turn and its not because my arm speed, I can turn plenty of discs over. These flight numbers are almost as inaccurate as the Innova Vulcan 😂
I don’t have a strong arm but my Hades has zero turn
Hades beats in VERY fast. Give it a good 4-6 rounds.
Hades is very dependent on dome. Pink seem to be very flat and OS and like Blue seem to be US
Dude couldn't hit the same line twice walking in a circle
Throwing 375 ft. I'd rate my Hades [12, 4.5, -0.5, 3].
My average full power with a Hades is around 350 and (12,6,-2,2) seems about right for me. I usually get a bit of turn and if I get lazy on the technique I can easily burn it over.
Should have included the prodigy D4. It’s 12/5/-2/2 and is a flippy bomber.
Metal Flake DD
Disccraft is the absolute worst with flight numbers.
