  • Wolfram alpha is an online calculator that can help you find the inverse matrix of a given matrix. In this video, I show you how to do this using a small example.

or you could type the matrix in the WA text bar {{a,b},{c,d}}^-1

How would you take a matrix to a certain power?

Marley CA To take a matrix to say, the second power, you would multiply the matrix by itself. So for A^2, multiply the matrix A by A (this isn't always defined). To find A^3, multiply AAA. The one common mistake you want to avoid is taking each entry to the power. This only works in a handful of cases - not in general!
