- Check out this motocross highlights video of the 2017 Supercross season. in my opinion this is one of the most intense Supercross championship battles between two riders in history. Coming into this season you had the defending Supercross champ Ryan Dungey looking to get his 3rd SX title in a row. Ken Roczen comes into the season on his new Honda after dominating the Pro Motocross Championship on a Suzuki. And you had Eli Tomac looking to get back on top after a sub par 2016 as he got back to 100% health coming in to 2017. Check out other riders like Marvin Musquin, Chad Reed, Cooper Webb, Cole Seely, Jason Anderson, and more. The stage was set for an epic Supercross season and it was just that. Meh, every "play by play" guy does that once in awhile. It's why I tire of people calling Carmichael out for it. Nobody has a crystal ball.
Eli should have won that year but destroyed that one main event.
When he had that cross rut to huge cse, I thought about the 2022 season with et3 injury 2nd last, or 3rd round.

People seem to forget just how brutal fast Dungey was. This RD2 shows just that. He easily matched the pace of a prime Roczen

@@davidmiller636 Tomac won nearly all the races, if it wasn't for his Kawasaki causing DNF's, he would have beat Dungey
@daltonturner3113 for one season what about all the others?? He was never a near him.
@David Miller He was smoking not just Dungey but the entire field by over a minute outdoors every single race, 7 races, going on 8 in a row in 2015 outdoors. That's when he broke both his shoulders in a massive crash. Would have been a flawless Carmichael style season. He took the next year to get back into it and to get that crash out his head and started dominating the majority of the races every year from 2017 onward both Supercrossand Motocross. The only reason he missed out on those Supercross championships was his bike causing that one inevitable DNF or that one or 2 off races where he'd get a 10th or 12th for no reason

Tomac would have had this one if he didn't have that bike issue early season. Remember when Tomac's bike broke while he was leading the first 2 motos of the season at lorrettas?

also i personally hate how Tomac won 9 races to dungys 3 & lost like wins should mean more in 2009 JS7 won like 11 races & chad reed only won 3 & it was so close James won by 4 points

@@gawdszn302 No, it's not. A football team finishes last in every game they don't win. A rider doesn't finish last in every race they don't win.
Such a american thing to say he won more so he should be champ. No it's about a whole season, the big picture. That is why dungey was great.
There should be a bigger gap from first to second like moto gp. It’s a 5 point difference where super cross is only 3. It’s a 9 point difference from first to third in motogp. In super cross it’s only a 5 point difference
Dungey is so overrated when it comes to speed
This was the season that I lost all respect for reed, blocking someone in a championship battle... as a lapper. Dungey should have put him in the cheap seats.
This is why tomac will never be the greatest he never beat the dungey. He always choked it away
9 wins to 3. Kawsaki DNF blew his season, he had Dungey beat. He made the kawi look good, yet the Kawi didn't do him any favors
Dungy has no room to talk about Chad at all. I've watched Dungy take riders out. I never liked Ryan as a rider.
