I think it would be a great idea to have both modes available. People that practiced building/editing for years shouldn’t have that hard work taken away from them, but a lot of people also like the faster pace of this new gamemode
It’s funny how in lore, IO just inconvenienced everyone so they could do their imperialism stuff, but in reality, nearly all the people who quit playing are happy that building is destroyed, which is the exact OPPOSITE of what IO was trying to do.
Yeah it‘s like in the lore the inhabitants of the map, the seven and the resistance are like not happy and are trying to bring it back, meanwhile the playerbase is literally shedding tears of happiness right now
I’m so glad for this new direction. For as long as I’ve played Fortnite I’ve only built basic cover or ramps, and usually relied on natural cover when possible. Fighting build happy players was very frustrating. The playing field feels a lot more inherently balanced and fun now that everyone is forced to rely on traditional gunplay and strategic positioning.
Yea back when building was around I didn’t use it that much since I’m not done that great at building so every time I got into a fight with a bob the builder I just crouched (crouching hides footsteps) and edit their buildings and slowly get closer to them until I can get a clean shot.
I never really got to understand building and never learned it but I'd argue that it's the unique part of the game the people who play building stuff are actually playing the game how it supposed to instead of just "Pubg but with diffrent graphics"
This is literally how it’s set up right now. When I go in it’s no build and building queues for 1/2/3/squads. Am I missing something? Seems like they already did this?
Let’s be real Fortnite with players not building skyscrapers after taking in one shot honestly feels like a more fastpaced BR after adding the sprinting and parkour system
As a person who played on day 1 where no one builds, then take a break after a few seasons, came back to lots of cracked builders, took a break again, it's nice to see no building

@@_conquered agreed, as fun is no building mode, building is still the blood of fortnite. I feel this 'LTM' is just them testing how popular it would be if they removed building
I started back in dec 2017. Im a casual player. They took away the one thing that made the game unique, what wouldve been better is something like the ground game mode, since you could build in it but barely, but it played out like an actual s2 game
@@edu7979 this isn't the first time they use main modes to test new stuff. Remember the Infinity Blade? Now we have way more balanced mythic items. And I'm pretty sure storm surge also got tested in pubs first. So yeah, they really like testing new stuff in pubs
I was talking about this a few days ago and I actually really enjoyed my time without builds... However instead of being a mode my idea is that they add a filter like fill/no fill with teammates but additionally with builds so builds/no builds so that that way it goes across every mode
I've been playing since chapter 1 season 4, and i have to say, this is one of my favorite updates in a long time. I thought i wouldn't like it because its removing a key mechanic that I've tried to learn for years (and always wished they added more too), but it makes the game x100 better in solos and makes the other three gamemodes way more fun because I'm not just on the ground while my teammates are just on top of the Burj Khalifa.
I mean I want building back but I completely understand what you mean I just got so use to building it is difficult for me but I completely understand what you mean I would probaly like it when I first started playing
@@volcanicsf8375 I really think this new choice between building and not building is the single greatest decision they have ever made, love more options.
For me, I don’t like fortnite for its pure uniqueness anymore. I barely played it in the first place after chapter 2 but if I did It was always more fun sweating because that’s what the game became. If I still played the game I prob wouldn’t like it because building is just a big part of the game for me and I have loved it since the beginning even when I placed down like 1 ramp or wall. But people saying they like this more were most likely just bad because the game has no natural cover and the skill gap is still high so I can’t even have fun because my aim is also better than others too
i played since chapter 1 season 1. like OG Season 1 i dunno like Black Knight 70or 60 levels battle pass smth. i took my black knight out crazy man people gave me shit XD
I think in earlier seasons, like Season 3 4 or 5 removing building would be super detrimental. But now that the game has matured so much and added so, so many things that it stands on it’s own now without building.
True before some would say that it was the only thing that separated it from other battle royalses but now it has so many unique things and other things that would still be able to distinguish it so well
They need to keep this “all fight, no build” thing as a permentant side mode. I’m so tired at shooting at a kid and he builds the Great Wall of China in 2 seconds
The great thing is that a few of the mechanics points are slowly being resolved. Items like med-mist allow you to spray 5 health a second on either yourself or your teammates while on the go and reviving is now able to be quicker too. Granted, it's only with more people helping, but it is a start.
@@sydsyd333 No because it's imposiible to build a hotel in a couple seconds lmao 🤣 and people only build what's necessary to survive and kill the enemy just say you're bad and move on
8:29 There is way to revive faster, although it only really works when you have a big squad. Multiple people can put their “hand” on a downed teammate to increase the speed at which the teammate is revived. There is a hand icon underneath the time left to revive and it has a ‘x 1’. More teammates reviving = Faster revives Not sure if Macro or anyone knew this, but just thought I should mention it :)
I’ll be honest, as much as I hate to say it I originally thought the game would be pretty generic without building. As I thought about it though I really realized just how much unique, fun, and weird items are in the game. This is the most fun the game has been in years, and it’s thank to the game’s uniqueness. This video is entirely correct well done.
I think that comes from an over reliance on building or paying it more attention than it deserves. Early on I tried to play like one of those PC crankin’ 90s streamer sweats but it just wasn’t for me and so for years I’ve only been using building for accessibility and escaping fights. The most fun I’ve had playing Fortnite has come from stuff like full speed plowing into people with cars, spamming grenades and Molotovs at kids in houses, and, recently, putting C4 on a Battle Bus and using it as a Molotov battering ram to 3rd party people.
@Strellok Sarchenkov he means the bloom because it boils down to luck, but the weapons this season have very little bloom or they just don't have bloom
@Strellok Sarchenkov this maybe news to you but every fps requires aim, every, unless you're Overwatch maybe. If aim is the only skill you require it better be hard to do which compared to other games like CS or Apex, it's not. Without building it's like playing Apex Legends without the movement. It's kinda fun but with short skill gap.
I’m okay for casualising, but don’t go too far. Games been out for years and don’t be a laze and just learn to be at optimal level to not ruin and wastes everyone else’s time.
No build also greatly encourages good positioning. If you’re caught in the open with no cover, you’ll get lasered. Unlike in builds, you cannot create cover so you need to be in a position where you can easily escape a sticky situation, or be able to fight back with an advantage
The problem I have with having two separate game modes is that the building version is going to be filled with nothing but sweats. Also I feel like if they had both modes, it will be hard to balance things between the two. I know for a fact in early versions of Fortnite the bolt action sniper rifle was doodoo ass, there was no reason to use it because it was just way better to build fight with Ar's and shotguns and smgs. But now it's actually viable since you don't need to shoot through cover all the time. Idk I like no building Fortnite, the only time I truly will enjoy Fortnite
Well, there's already a sort of gap between the Arena mode and non-arena mode, since all the fun/ OP items are taken out of Arena to keep it fair. And when building and no building are separate game modes, they can just specifically cater to requirements of each mode, so maybe the build mode has more traps, and stuff, while no builds gets more movement items and so on. They'd definitely do a lot of balancing and stuff, though it'll take a while to get it right as they use player feedback ALONGSIDE hard data, so once they get the data, they can try and nerf, buff, vault, unvault and so on to try and make it more balanced. The sweat problem isn't something Epic can fix, so unless there's some magic button to keep building but without sweats, then this is the best we've got.
Striker burst rifle is insanely op on Zero Build, if an enemy squad focus you with that weapon you are pretty much wiped. Definitely need a different loot pool in Zero Build because some weapons are meant to be countered with building your own cover. The only long range weapons should be snipers due to their slowness and rate of fire.
I feel like if they wanted to add building back, they should add a stamina feature to building so people don't start building skyscrapers in 2 milliseconds.
Building is very important to the comp scene. Comp Fortnite without building might literally be apex without shooting. It’s that impactful. That’s why I’m happy they only did it in unranked. Building is still in ranked. I think if no building and building coexist, it could be so beneficial to the game
@Maya prințesa pisicuțelor Although, they do have certain spawn points, so someone can land in a tank from the start, so either random spawns or a percentage chance to spawn
tanks are also at a disadvantage in close quarters, I was in top 5 and a tank was near me i kept getting super close and went into the tank shot it, went out and did that. The guy was so confused. Only problem in this game is third partys cuz thats the only reason why i mostly die, but u cant change that.
I like how they give you the same amount of xp for opening chests and getting eliminations. Not only does it incentivize aggressive play, but also to explore as well. No build mode is such a great addition. I will throw my money at epic games if they continue with the anime collabs.
I have a feeling it’s gonna be two different modes if they gonna have building then make it like a cool down ability where it’s used every 3 seconds unlike every millisecond but I do prefer no building
Just keep it as is core br no building and leave building to arenas, streamers are like "if you don't like building ur bad", welp if you so good keep playing arenas, tryhards
@@MartGameFails You see some people actually just like the concept of building so making only arenas have builds is a poor idea even tho it looks good on paper
That is just what I am saying to my friends. The game is great, but the building just makes every uniqe feature pop like the crazy skins, mechanics and fun weapons. I believe that by removing turbo building the game would be in a much more healthier more casual state.
*Yes, this comment right here.* Fortnite shouldn't REMOVE building per se, but rather add some sort of cooldown. The game keeps its unique mechanic without becoming Minecraft on crack.
@@justv1bin Finally people saying the same thing lol. If they removed turbo building, and limited materials, we could have the best of both worlds. Lower the skill ceiling while also keeping an integral part of the game. Maybe since this happened and people enjoyed it, streamers won't immediately shoot the idea down when brought up.
@@bombboy3427 Another upside to limited building is that people will want to build with more than just wood just because it's the quickest to get/build, since a small tower made out of wood would most likely be demolished in seconds. Additionally, the overall health of player-made builds should be increased so that the limited builds don't feel completely useless.
@@bombboy3427 turbo building Was removed like 1 and half year ago when i was still playing and it was just worse. Building stairs even was too slow so you couldnt even permantly run. No building is so much better
honestly this gamemode I'm actually good at. My friends said that for a beginner I had really good aim but because of the constant building I quit and move to apex and valorant and such. Now tho without building it's not annoying anymore, people aren't building a wall around them that you will eventually run out of ammo from shooting at and die.
8:31 a new feature from chapter 3 is that when ur playin squads and one of your teammates get knocked u can actualy revive them faster this is the hand there if a full squad is reviving then it will be 3x faster
I enjoy both building and no building and I am happy that there will be an option to have both. But I think in the future thet will start makin changes to the two versions separately, like overshield being exclusive to no building. I have already heard they are reducing damage to structures with weapons for no build so its all looking good so far
I think that fortnite really ought to think about adding a delay with building. Both when pulling out/putting away your build menu and between placing/editing pieces. It would make you prioritize what to build first rather than just build everything at once, and remove the inconvenience that not being able to build at all gives.
Building I think represents at most half of what makes Fortnite special and the other half is everything else that gets overshadowed by building. So by taking away building, we have to adapt and actually think about positioning and movement more now than ever. Also seeing people get mad that building was taken away puts a smile on my face, no offense.
I actually realy enjoy playing fortnite with friends rn since building got disabled. Even though i like apex's gameplay much more fortnite feels so fresh becuase all of the constent updates
I really like no building in fortnite, and I would consider myself a sweat. I really hope they keep no building in pubs but make it so structures are a lil harder to break with guns
I feel you about the sweat part. I'm a good shot in Fortnite and everytime I play with friends, they give me their best guns for me to use cause I was the better shot. They were expert builders though, and I can't build for shit. I only manage to build walls and stairs just for cover and to reach higher places but that was it
They could also add Port-A-Fort's back into the no building version, it won't really count as building, but rather spawning some cover. Port-A-Fort's will still be rare and a bit hard to obtain, and they will not be stackable. I think that would be great.
Personally my biggest gripe with Fortnite has always been that builders who can’t actually win a gunfight win by building a tower over and on top of you and then running away if you happen to get some damage in before the storm hits. The absolute button spam that would be required on a controller is insane to match that. And that’s how the higher level players can only play so it’s always the same disappointing feeling when I can work my way up to playing in the higher levels with minimal building at all and relying on my own game sense and skill and then there’s just a hard ceiling built outta brick on top of me and an idiot with a shotgun. It’s why I keep dropping Fortnite bc hitting that hot mess isn’t fun but that’s what all my games devolve into and I can’t build out of an enemies building so it’s just incredibly frustrating.
I just dont get why people even wanted to play fortnite if they didnt like the building. Like thats the main mechanic of the game, it would be like asking to remove the legends from apex
@@AgentRavioli did you watch the video but just to remind you. Fortnites core of the game is the constant addition and tweaks added throughout the season and something to add is it’s one of the only third person games
Its simple, the fun of the amazing game that is fortnite with all of its wacky and cool weapons, without the frustration of building. Its a recipe for success even pulling players from other BR-s that dont have building but amazing gunplay.
as someone who played in chap one season one this is a great change, playing the game was like the equivalent of playing a sport against someone who runs at 30 mph whos also 8 feet tall whos also 300 pounds. it went from a cool mechanic, to becoming a nuisance
I've always loved Fortnite but never played because of the building, I couldn't get into shooting someone and instantly having to chase them through a tower they just created out of thin air, but this mode has made me love the game. The games atmosphere is so chill and fun but also can have serious moments it's a perfect mix for me.
You make very valid points. I couldn't get into Fortnite because of the building in the BR game circa 2018, but after hearing about Fortnite minus the building, that's what will make me give Fortnite one more chance and eventually liking it.
@ytshorts54258 you can't pull 5 weapons and a pickaxe out of thin air in a real battle, you can't take a headshot and regain health by using a medkit on your arm in a real battle, you can't drink Blue Juice that magically gives you shield in a real battle but you only wanna hold that double standard for Building because you're not good at it 😂😂😂
I came back to Fortnite for the first time in 4 years, my brother had told me about the No building and thought “ you know what I’ll actually give this a shot” and I’m actually really enjoying it again. 😎
As a heavy builder in Fortnite I found it annoying at first that I couldn’t put up just a simple wall when I was out with the open and it’s been really hard to adapt but I think I found my groove 👌👌👌
I think it would be super healthy for the casual scene of the game if Epic were to bring back building in public matches with the 1.4 turbo build speed similar to how they tried to revert it in Chapter 1 Season X. Since Chapter 3 Season 2 has brought us so many new movement options, building wouldn't be as important to turning the tides of a dual between you and your opponent. The start of this season has already been a great example of how comfortable Epic is with changing how the building mechanic works between competitive and casual queues (disabling building in pubs and leaving it on in arena) if Epic were to truly go through with reducing the speed of turbo build, we might finally see a proper divide between competitive and casual players, making pubs a friendlier place for newer players to get into the action while those who enjoy fast paced build fights can stay and grind in the Arena playlists.
If they make classic royale mode with pretty much everything from season 1 to season 3 (first chapter) I would play this game for hours again, it was such a good game, best BR ever made
I used to play fortnite a lot during chapter 2 season 2 since it was my first “active” shooter game, but around season 5 I got bored and started playing Warzone, then Apex after the boring gap it had and “Hack-a-thon”. But I’ve played a lot more during chapter 3 season 1 because of the new movement and weapons. Then they removed building and I could actually fight an enemy without them building a 4 story house with plumbing and a cinema. I have had so much more fun now I don’t have to relearn how to be a sweat like I was in chapter 2 season 2, I can just have fun and not have to learn to build. That’s the charm Warzone and Apex have to me. It’s ok they have another mode for build so everybody who wined. Thank you fortnite.
I think that the removal of building was amazing because if you had good him and were smart, yeah that could give you a small advantage but if you could build, you got a MASSIVE advantage over anyone who could build as good
I think that introducing a no build mode shows to people what Fortnite has to offer : not only a game for sweaters and pro players, but an amazing game with creative mechanics, amazing style and a lot of fun.( I’m not saying I hate building in Fortnite, i LOVE IT!!)
I never played Fortnite because of building. It adds a layer on the top that you need to understand, master, do it by muscle memory just to counter play a player building around him because he is afraid of gunplay. So you needed to learn retakes ramps 90s and loads of stuff just to access gunplay. In higher level of play, there also is a mindgame layer on the top of that building layer on the top of the gunplay. Tbh, that was too much. With no building you have to learn the gunplay fundamentals : Aiming Positioning Ressources management (ammos, health, shield, time) Flanking And the game feels way smoother and funnier. I do play fortnite only in the no building mode, I faced both beginners and beasts at gunplay, it's really fun to go in a populated place where people have fun in a massive gun fight, we have to think, to move, to flank, to switch weapons, to hide when we need to reload. I'd never thought saying this one day, but Fortnite is really fun
@@kalebt2912 but yes apex is still superior, but it gets so boring after a while. They take a million years to get out some content updates unlike fortnite tbh

The no building is what brought me back to play a bit. I couldnt get into the building aspect cause it's so frustrating when you shoot somone with a sniper one time and then 10 seconds later they have a damn fortress already built around them and are healing
@dbzbt4gameplay32 then they simply need to let us turn off crossplay so us on console don't have to worry about an entire fucking castle being erected within seconds
Removing bulding got me back into fortnite. I quit around seasson 4 way back because the building just got too sweaty and challenging to keep up if you didn't practice all day. I love the game again
Dude holy shit, if they bring this back as a permanent mode I’m actually going to reinstall Fortnite for the first time in literal years. The meme of “shoot kid, he builds [historical structure]” is done to death, but it’s pretty accurate. I just wanna shoot things, not engage in a skyscraper merging battle.
Theres probably going to make a separate game mode without building. Building is the key to fortnite. Its fun at first without it but after about a week it becomes clear its just knock off warzone without it
they should make its own mode remember how theres a menu before u choose br theres a choice between save the world and br they should do that but one with building and one doesnt

Everyone who complains that building is gone because of awful players need to realise they’re angry because they have had to rely on building so much that their aim is just not where it needs to be.
The same could be said on the opposite spectrum for people who were not good at building. It’s good now that both groups have their own game modes to gravitate towards though.
It brings me back to the chapter 1 season 1 days where the most "tryhard" you could get was building one wall to block line of sight and then running to a house to hide in.
As someone who has played fortnite for years and plays scrims daily, the no building has grown the game and made it more accessible and appreciated throughout the wider community. Fortnite is actually a beautiful game and with no building it makes it easy for people to appreciate that
I haven't played since literally season 3. Since before there was chapters. And playing no build has brought me deep into this game and I'm enjoying wasting my money on skins and gliders etc. It's been 5 years and I'm finally addicted.
i think fortnite would be better without the editing system, or at least a cool down on it. when you see people crazy building you see them edit everywhere and its not fun if you dont know how to build either.
As a person who quit this game at around the mech era due to all the sweat builders and high skill only....this no building has gotten me back into fortnite and damn have I gotten more wins, more tactical, more friend squad sessions, longer sessions then ever before. The building was holding this game back. I'm glad it's there for people who still care about it but I truly beleieve no building is fortnite at its best.
This is something huge for me. I'm kind of player over 30 who wants to relax after work and many times I've tried fortnite because I like many gameplay mechanics and graphics but I am not able to teach myself stupid building and that was core feature which was key to success. And now is everything changed for me and I can enjoy game too.
at the start of the season i barely got any dubs since im more of a builder and clip people but it feels refreshing after a while and in a way it feels more fun
i think the better idea is a build cooldown, maybe a one second delay between placing stuff to allow people to build for when they need to do basic stuff like bridge or quickly protect a teammate who was knocked, but prevents sweats from build the eiffel tower in 0.2 seconds. Honestly i think fortnite should split its battly royale stuff into two, a "normal fortnite" that gets all the cool seasonal features, building cooldown, and all the fun crossover stuff, and a "competetive fortnite" with a map that stays relatively the same forever and only the best and most liked features from the normal version, with no build cooldown and none of the crossover event items and in game stuff like NPC's and things like that. Inbetween these two main gamemodes would be creative of course with all the stuff that players like and can make their own versions of
Fortnite without building is reminiscent of the early seasons of fortnite where no one knew how to truly build fast and correctly, jumping while in a gun fight was more common than a wall being built, double pumps were running rampant, bush campers (which is some how worse now) and 1x1 tower camping existed. Before no building they actually had a LTM where you materials were limited and that was actually fun too so maybe they recognized this from that time who knows
3:25 Actually, respawns/reboots were being worked on since Chapter 1 Season 3. One year before Apex's release. Nice video tho. And there are ways to destroy the tanks. Like shooting the yellow capsule at the frost of the tank to reveal the driver or overheat it by shooting the yellow squares on the butt of the tank. Revives are quicker if you do them with 2 or more teammates. 8:15 if I remember correctly, Med Mist does exactly that
You can break the tank driver cover but they will just switch seats and melt you with the turret. There's really no counterplay against tanks if the user knows what their doing. The team reviving mechanics are interesting but it means that duos gets the short end of the stick. I think the revive time should be lowered in duos lobbies since there's no third person to help out. Med mist is only 1 item though. I don't like how mist or fishes are the only 2 med items worth carrying. I think at the very least, All items should be usable while sliding.
They didn’t really get sliding and climbing from Apex, sliding was from Gears of War and Climbing was from Assassin’s creed, why they had the collaborations when they came out
I quit Fortnite about a year or two before this update. Then, at a sleepover with my brother and two buddies, we all decided to hop on Fortnite together as a squad. We then went on a 7 win streak. Removing building definitely caters more towards people who want more strategy over easy to use game mechanics.

Certainly feels good to see your enemies go to build, instinctively, only to waste their draw time and lose the fight. Love it.
I think in earlier seasons, like Season 3 4 or 5 removing building would be super detrimental. But now that the game has matured so much and added so, so many things that it stands on it’s own now without building.
True before some would say that it was the only thing that separated it from other battle royalses but now it has so many unique things and other things that would still be able to distinguish it so well
back in early fortnite people barely even built at all though. i think it would still work decent on the older seasons if you do it properly
Honestly I think they should try to find a middle ground between building and no building, like making a 3 second cool down between placing mats.

@Strellok Sarchenkov Indeed.
Totally agree, not to mention Creative Mode
I think that comes from an over reliance on building or paying it more attention than it deserves. Early on I tried to play like one of those PC crankin’ 90s streamer sweats but it just wasn’t for me and so for years I’ve only been using building for accessibility and escaping fights. The most fun I’ve had playing Fortnite has come from stuff like full speed plowing into people with cars, spamming grenades and Molotovs at kids in houses, and, recently, putting C4 on a Battle Bus and using it as a Molotov battering ram to 3rd party people.
@@bekkfxst I love ramming into sweats with the battle-bus.
in my opinion removing the building mechanic sorta levelled out the skill gap of a casual game... and it's honest to god fun.
fixed the skill gap because now there’s no skill. weapons in fortnite have always been easy to use
@Strellok Sarchenkov Plus fortnite has added sprinting and sliding
I’m okay for casualising, but don’t go too far. Games been out for years and don’t be a laze and just learn to be at optimal level to not ruin and wastes everyone else’s time.
No build also greatly encourages good positioning. If you’re caught in the open with no cover, you’ll get lasered. Unlike in builds, you cannot create cover so you need to be in a position where you can easily escape a sticky situation, or be able to fight back with an advantage
In other words, camp, camp like a cod player, how skillful.
The only long range weapons should be snipers due to their slowness and rate of fire.
it actually balanced the game but toxic kids still bully people who play zero build but lets not care about that cause they complain about spamming
I feel like if they wanted to add building back, they should add a stamina feature to building so people don't start building skyscrapers in 2 milliseconds.

@@bombboy3427 Another upside to limited building is that people will want to build with more than just wood just because it's the quickest to get/build, since a small tower made out of wood would most likely be demolished in seconds. I think that fortnite really ought to think about adding a delay with building. Both when pulling out/putting away your build menu and between placing/editing pieces. It would make you prioritize what to build first rather than just build everything at once, and remove the inconvenience that not being able to build at all gives.

They could also add Port-A-Fort's back into the no building version, it won't really count as building, but rather spawning some cover. Port-A-Fort's will still be rare and a bit hard to obtain, and they will not be stackable. I think that would be great.
They probably should be stackable, like in 2's or 3's. Being rare and unstackable would just be a hassle.

With no building you have to learn the gunplay fundamentals :
Aiming
Positioning
Ressources management (ammos, health, shield, time)
Flanking
And the game feels way smoother and funnier. I do play fortnite only in the no building mode, I faced both beginners and beasts at gunplay, it's really fun to go in a populated place where people have fun in a massive gun fight, we have to think, to move, to flank, to switch weapons, to hide when we need to reload.

That first part was absolute fire 🔥 🔥🥵
