  • In this video, I answer the simplistic question of how does an electric guitar work to actually make sound. Basically, I explain how the electric guitar makes those cool sounds when you strum the strings while it is connected to a speaker or amplifier. With that being said, there are basically these things called pickups that are on the body of the electric guitar, and those pickups allow you to strum the strings and they will convert those string vibrations to an electric sound that outputs through the speaker or amplifier. Some electric guitars have one pickup and others have multiple, but they all do the same thing by taking the string vibrations from the guitar and converting those movements to an electric sound that you hear from the speaker that the guitar is connected to.
