From 'The Saga Of Hawkwind:' "Hawkwind had hoped to enlist Arthur Brown as the narrator, but in the event he opted out of the tour, and he has not performed with the group since then. “Arthur seems to have become very busy with his own band,” explains Alan. “It’s like my own situation with Bedouin. Bedouin are lost in the desert somewhere.” It was then agreed that Matthew Wright would make a great narrator, but he was unable to commit to much of the tour. The speaking parts and poems were finally undertaken in some style by Dave Brock and Mr Dibs, both reading from clipboards in their lab coats. Matthew did, however, make it to the London Astoria on December 19, 2004, when he took to his reading role with relish before a jam-packed audience. “At one point,” says Alan pointedly, “we were told that we’d never sell out the Astoria again.”
