I am a little past a noob, but nowhere near knowing what I'm doing. All of your videos help. Sometimes I know the tip you are showing, but more importantly I didn't know or had forgotten. Thanks for taking the time to help us all out! Yo!
If you play with a map on your phone next to you( Izurvive in app or android store), you can see where the chickens, water wells, police stations and med buildings are. Some consider this cheating but It helped me a lot in the beginning. Best of luck.
breaking down firewood is helpful to build stick shelters since you need 50 short sticks. Also 3 short sticks will burn for longer than 1 firewood and take up less space. you can also fill an unlit campfire with 6 firewood 10 short sticks 6rags and 8 bark and carry it in your inventory to save a ton of space.
If I'm building imp shelters I usually stock up on logs and carry them to the base you can just keep cutting them down, much easier than having to gather from bushes, quicker too!!
Standing dead pine will give you one log and a ton of fire wood with one chop loop. You can then split that fire wood down for small sticks, half a shelter right there
YO! there has also been an occasion where i chopped firewood into sticks and that is making a temporary shelter, the stick one is best one since it blends in with forests the most and the shelter itself has 100 slots of space
Yo! I've actually broke down firewood into short sticks a few times for making the stick shelter. The spear is my favorite craft out of those. I haven't tried the leather backpack yet, I always forget you can do it and how good it is. Thanks for the good info as usual.
If you cut up an animal, or a player... 😆 I'd forgotten the belt one. Didn't know you could place a tripwire without a trap (grenade, etc) to trip a player. I'm assuming this causes him to make noise via the stumble? IIRC, the torch also gives you some heat, to maintain the heat buff (?), and may help dry out your clothes. Am I remembering this correctly? Could really help on cold maps like Namalsk. And making small sticks out of firewood is completely new to me. That will be helpful, especially if one has a crossbow. As always, GREAT VIDEO! And "yo!".
I play on frostbite servers sometimes on ps5 and the short torch definitely works to keep your heat buff. It won't give you the heat buff itself but will keep it going after you get the buff from an actual fireplace.
Yo, long time player on Xbox, taking a hiatus at the moment, still love watching DayZ vids of various kinds though, always looking to learn new useful stuff to try out upon returning to the game, ngl would love to have a decent gaming PC specifically for Survival games, and maaaaybe to run a modded DayZ server, cause Xbox got the shortest straw in terms of modability and such unfortunately 😅
I absolutely love this game,,,,Now I just started a year ago on console. And I was very lucky to find a perfect server with amazing people. This game is absolutely amazing honestly I almost quit and deleted the game the first couple times I tried to play because I was always dying because of no food fresh water and I was always getting sick lol but like I said found a PVE server that gave me enough time to figure stuff out. So if you just started playing this game give it time you will eventually figure it out and you will love this game too
Tan bag is nice and I'd love to use it more, but when you play like me, without base, collecting and transporting all things needed are just not worth the effort.
I think iam like 700 hrs but one thing everyone should know. Is bone knives. If you combine a small rock to bones its crafts a bone knife and only uses one bone opposed to using the 2 to craft in open hands.
nope, this is the biggest myth in dayz. don't disinfect rags or wounds. just use dirty rags or sewing kit and wait to see IF you get an infection. (it's not very common at full stats) then IF you get an infection, disinfect your wounds. The infection cure almost immediately and you're not wasting precious resources. If I have disinfectant, I don't even bother looking for bandages anymore.
@@dealler669 blasphemy!! Oh wait. Makes sense. Or and hear me out, disinfect them and use the space for something else, but then you may get sick again and it's bloody useful tincture
Yo. You can make a burning torch from a short stick as well which will fit in an inventory easier. When you have your heat buff from it or don't need it anymore, extinguish it with your water supply and stow it away for future use. Also, gasoline can be used as well as animal fat, at least on the servers I'm on, which are always modded. I think the gasoline useage is still vanilla though. 🇦🇺
"Yo!" Nitno! Very important and ultra easy craft: Fur backpack from a boar. If you get the boar killed, use the knife to craft rope out of guts and use this rope with the boar pelt and - voila! - fur backpack! (no garden lime needed here) Keep it up dude!
hardly anyone uses the cooking stand for fireplace. two short sticks and 1 long stick. I think the burlap head cover is the rarest item 'crafted' in game, the mouth gag would be up there too.
The sticks from trees/firewood thing is handy when making shelters . You don’t have to run around cutting down heaps of small bushes but you may have to sharpen the axe.
Yo, that torch is a game changer. I lost count of how many times I logged out because I couldn’t see anything. Also I can’t believe I haven’t figured out I could make a belt with rope I’ve spent hours looking for a belt. And the dry bag one blew my mind, on one of the community servers I use they spawn tons of those stupid dry bags but I hardly ever take them because I don’t want to carry it and put stuff in it.
While the Leather Bag is cool, just having these steps to build already makes it unnecessary effort for a new player like me I'm often much more likely to find/seek out a better backpack To have a gun with ammo, to then find and kill a cow/deer, locate fertiliser, and a leather sewing kit is a lot of hoops for someone who still needs a decent backpack Even just having the space free for these items until you find the last ingredient can be a pain Still good to know
Majority of these are not rare that tree would've gave sticks too plus Majority of these you won't use or do once you're going in land only if you main the coast

Yo, you missed the fur bags from your list. No need for garden lime and a leather kit, just a rope, and a hairy animal hide.
True, but leather bag will increase from 42 to 63 slots with similar slim profile. Luv the courier backpack and furry backpack early game
Good point, could have included that. The Leather Bag is massive though in space!

It’s only boar hide , not any animal hide
@@redshift912 It can be any hide. Just make tanned leather first and combine with leather kit!
