Like really. That is NOT something a mother should be saying to her daughter who brought up all the courage to tell her the truth about how she feels. And yet she waves it all off like it's nothing. Even if there is any truth in that woman's statement, there is NO way that thing is Mafuyu's mother, to act that way towards her!

@@orianashi9919 It’s okay. You have every right to be furious with a passion because that woman has failed as a parent. There may be more to her story that we might see in future events but that doesn’t excuse her for all the emotional abuse she has inflicted on Mafuyu.
@@Thecherryblossom27 My guess is that she is forcing her dream onto Mafuyu. I've seen types like her before in other stories. This could be somewhat of a cycle that happens within the family. Although, in her case, it might not be just as typical as wanting her child to be someone she could never be in the past due to her own failure. Mafuyu's mother might have been through a situation where she went against her parents's wishes to pursue her own dream. I don't know for sure, but, her dream could've been something like a career based on her hobby or something that have no certainty and stability for the future like Mafuyu who wanted to make music. However, i can guess that it didn't went well and she regretted to ever go against her parents's wishes and she wanted to make sure Mafuyu didn't go through the same thing as she did.
Even if that's the case, that doesn't justify her own actions towards Mafuyu. Taking away Mafuyu's precious things and isolating her from her friends, that's complete mental abuse and over the top controlling parenting. And, the worst of them all, what makes her so sure that Mafuyu will find certain misfortune if she wanted to pursue a career in music? She already failed as a parent the moment she decided on that without listening to her child's feelings and wishes. Because that's the same as wishing misfortunes to fall on her own child from the start.

Man this story killed me. When she ran away to Kanade it made me cry so much, having that one person there, that you know you can go to, and they'll always be there with open arms. Is something that makes me cry so dang much. Seriously one of, if not the best event yet. Thank you so much Meltdown for translating this.

This was one of the most intense niigo events and event in general, It felt so real that I could basically feel what Mafuyu feels. Props to the writers for a proper buildup, for not rushing the story considering how hard it is to open up after wearing a mask the whole time. The new cards are also amazing, they show that mafuyu finally cuts these marionette strings and breaks her mask, but it causes so much pain, guilt and doubt. Also I wonder what mafumom is gonna do next, just let her kid figure things out for herself inatead of spoon feeding her with her own desires cause that ain't gonna work anymore, or just transform into her final form idk. Overall 10/10 event.

ive been waiting so long for the climax of her story. im so excited for the new ones.. i hope she’ll be ok
i think that the "throwing away the mask" theme in this event kinda goes both ways. mafuyu threw away her mask, that is obvious. but i think that mafuyus mom kinda threw away her mask too, when she got so mad that she couldnt keep her composure anymore. and by doing that mafuyu saw the true side of her that isnt hidden behind sweet manipulative words, and started to question if she rlly cares about her.

SO TRUE, I was crying and then suddenly Kaito comes to Kanade saying "Go outside." It made me laugh for a while 😭
i'm so sad over the fact that mafuyu blames herself for the selfishness of her mother's actions. Sega rlly put so much effort into making mafuyu's mother's character so well written and I'm amazed at how she is so skilled in many forms of manipulations (not in a good way ofc). literally shivered from this events on how amazing scripted it was. Next niigo event will be fire and i'm hoping so ^^
Dude I actually started crying when she told Kanade that she did it. I rarely ever cry, and this was the moment I think N25 fans were waiting for.

Damn... That arc ending is... Shivers. Gave me shivers. I wonder how Mafuyu and the others will continue after this, maybe Mafuyu will start showing more emotion or... In the worst case.. This breaks her even more.

@@orianashi9919the more strings she broke, the more it hurts, mafuyu already have an unhealthy attachment out of fear and guilt to her mother, to heal she needs to break first which is inevitable. But I doubt she can heal so fast because realistically she still have to struggle with her mom's control (blatant, no longer manipulation), but still feeling guilty, even worse because she'll probably further restrict her. The story might feel lengthy, but it's the most realistic thing to happen since ms.Asahina doesn't think it's her fault

I love how Mafumom said that the one who is really thinking about Mafuyu isn't Kanade but her then we have Mafuyu running away from home and going to Kanade..
And Kanade was indeed thinking about her, and immediately care for and comfort her
If she truly think she knows what's best for her, why would Mafuyu ran away from her? If she doesn't get it from this at all, then she's hopeless.
@@joshuaamadeusishak1887 It's already hopeless the moment Mafuyu said that she doesn't want to be a doctor because she remembers the time where her mother was taking care of her when she was sick so she want to pursue a different dream (nurse) but her mother still blame Kanade on why Mafuyu no longer wants to be a doctor..

This is the first time i cried on a story event because of how relatable it was, the writing in this is so well written it's so accurate it made me tear up 😭
kanamafu roommates arc!!!! i was really scared of mafuyu getting beaten by her parents or slapped at ;n; but she got her hand slapped and her phone messed up so i think that's sad but fair xd
also i wonder how mafuyu is gonna change kanade's routine since she'll probably stay at her house for a few days, i'd be scared shitless of going back home after that tbh
I'm bawling my eyes out, this is so well-written that it hurts, but Mafuyu must be feeling 100x worse... T_T
Seeing Mafuyu struggles to do this, wanting to obey her mother but remembering what Mizuki, Ena and Kanade said to her, pushed by Miku singing Kanade's song that we haven't heard since niigo's main story, and _finally_ stop denying that her home is now a place that only suffocates her... Mafuyu did it. She ran away, just like Mizuki suggested.
But there's no cheers or relief, no moment of triumph. There is only confusion and pain for Mafuyu, questioning why she did it and whether she was at fault for things to go this way as Kanade found her in the rain... And then that ending video. Of a phone falling into an aquarium, broken, with the words:
*"Chasing your light, at **25:00**"*
The first step is always the hardest and the most painful, but Mafuyu had taken it. And she'd have the support of everyone in niigo as she chases after that light.

currently begging for honami to show up at kanade's house to do housekeeping and learn about mafuyu's situation so she can help as well. would make honami a top tier character ngl
I'm also hoping for this to happen, since it would also give Mafuyu a (small but still) pillar of support at Miya girls school, where she usually had to keep up her good girl act until now.
I hope this too! I also kind of hope mafuyu interacts with toya because I feel like he kind of went through something similar and that could maybe help her?

yknow, im VERY thankful that Kanade, Ena and Mizuki live in pretty much the same area as Mafuyu now that I think about it, because if not.. Mafuyu would have a much harder time leaving this hellhole.. or even end up in a much worse situation..

I actually teared up bruh. Mafuyu is going to need to grieve the potential loss of her relationship with her mother. It’s not Mafuyu’s fault it needed to happen. I’m just begging the mother to actually reflect and take accountability because the loss hurts bad. It sometimes hits hard when you learn your parent never changed even after it costed a relationship with their kid. It just feels like they never loved you but loved obedience.
Mafuyu's Mom: I'll try being a better mom to you this time. Please let me--

she says that, but has no intention to be a good mom. its a manipulation tactic. she's saying it's going to be different, but the very next day it'd go back to how it was, even with the promise that she'll change.

This event killed me and after all I was right, Luka shouldn't be the VS of this event, but Miku or kaito (mostly him) were perfect for the story.

Still, it's Luka the one telling Mzk that the best advice for Mfy was that it's ok to run away (which she did in the final moment). Kaito told mfy to fight back to protect her feeling while Luka made her run to knd not to fall apart.
Kaito and Luka are both the mvps in this story imp, deserved king and queen ✨

Okay but I can kinda understand mafuyu’s feelings towards her mother. Her mother speaks in a very calm manner and uses sweet words, and also makes her child’s favourite food like how anyone would expect a kind mother to be like, and on top of that mafuyu has a kind personality that wants to make everyone happy at all costs, so if I were her I think I would probably be manipulated as well.

the main reason mafuyus mom doesn’t see error in her ways is likely because she’s a narcissist. not sayjng she has NPD. but just has qualities of a narcissistic parent. i see her actions a lot in my own mother. i feel for mafuyu. eventually you gotta break free and it’s painful.

A purple butterfly told me that N25 Kaito was still discorving his other feelings apart of his anger and emotionless one...also N25 Kaito smile when N25 Miku gave him ice cream
The room looking so bleak really puts Mafuyu as the main focus, and really makes her look like she really hates where she is and the environment she is in is absoloutley lifeless

Wow, it happen!! This has been such a roller-coaster and Mafuyu's story is still not over, but for now she is going to rest. I bet the moment she is out that house her marks are going to go up again. It's going to be a little bit awkward when Honami comes to clean and make lunch. Who knows maybe she even help make it and maybe an extra pair of eyes can make Kanade take care of herself more. It would be like that fan comic. So, who is going to be the next focused arc? I think an arc is going to be Mizuki.
It was shown in an area conversation that Mafuyu went to SEKAI when Honami showed up to clean. Perhaps not wanting to be seen just yet.

I feel like the next arc is more likely Mafuyu healing, or Kanade somehow because I feel like Kanade intertwines with Mafuyu the best, and Mafuyu's healing is far from over

When Mafuyu and Kanade met up I started to cry and then when the arc ender started I burst into tears. This hit so close to home to my own situation growing up. Even now, I'm still stuck. I hope Mafuyu can get away from her forever and live with Kanade. That's where she's safe. That's where she feels warmth, along with being with the rest of Niigo and the Empty Sekai VS's.
Miku feels like motherly but also like a sister to Mafuyu while Kaito is definitely the "If you hurt her, run." kind of older brother figure to Mafuyu.
I can't wait for the third arc. Hopefully we see Mafuyu be free from this witch, Mizuki being able to open up to Niigo, Ena to get further with her art, and for Kanade...hopefully her father will wake up and get better. Maybe he can help Kanade and Mafuyu against mafumom. idk and sorry for the rambling lmao

Mafuyu’s mother seems to be, overprotective on Mafuyu.
Because of her own mistake she made during childhood.
2:19, She seems to want Mafuyu know that, not studying during school days may makes you regret.
She seems to be regretting her choice when she was a kid.
She might skipped school, not studying. She might played too much, neglecting studies. But it’s too late for her to change when she realised that studying is what ‘makes life better’.
She doesn’t want Mafuyu to walk on the same path as herself did. She’s right that she cared for her, but in the wrong way. She thought only playing once will make you completely addicted to it like drugs.
*Let’s say it in a metaphor.*
• There’s a hole called ‘misunderstanding’ on a surface Mafuyu’s mom thought was perfectly fine.
• She doesn’t want anyone to fill the hole as she was certain that she is the one being correct.
• That hole was formed after she realising her mistakes. She realised there were too many holes and wanted to fill them. But she cannot that she decided to make them as one bigger hole.
It’s like you’re certain that your destiny is completely alright, but it’s ugly in others’ perspective. But the designer just wouldn’t accept it.

It wasn’t easy but Mafuyu made the first step to stand up for herself and that’s great. Nothing has been resolved yet but it’s not over. Niigo will persevere and each member will overcome their respective obstacles.

This event is so real to me because i had the same exact experience as a child 😭😭 Sega did a great job writing this, i just wish i had a miku and kaito when everything was happening on my part

It really is a well written event. As a child my mum wasn’t nearly as abusive or manipulative as Mafuyu’s but I could really relate to her story especially about becoming a doctor or not going down other career choices. I honestly almost teared up when Kanade was comforting Mafuyu 😭
Thank you so much for uploading and translating everything, this just made my evening, I am beyond heartbroken for Mafuyu, but she finally snapped and I‘m so proud of her for doing so. I teared up so much over this story multiple times, it’s so scary how well written and relatable this is. It cut me so deep when Mafuyu finally spilled the tea to her mom that she doesn’t want to be a doctor and how she kept blaming herself and saying that everything was her fault, but it’s all her mom’s fault for her inability to actually take a moment and understand things from Mafuyu’s viewpoint or even consider how she’s feeling. She’s emotionally abusing her own daughter and all the signs show- isolation, gaslighting, etc.
This event is so good I swear, the VA’s went all out on this. Thank you so much for the translation Meltdown!

we can all agree on mafuyu's mother's backward logic...but the way that mafuyu just accepts it as fact is scary. cuz you know, honour students are trained in eng, math etc all the subjects that require logical understanding, and she'd probably be able to pick out the gaslights if presented to her in some written format, a test, idk...
it just goes to show her mother's abuse has a purely emotional handle on her, which she isn't used to, and that's why it's trapping :(((( the flashback to bug story was sad :(((((

Miku’s singing to mafuyu was so pretty even if it was like 2 seconds long it’s was soo pretty. I’m so proud of this whole group and especially mafuyu. She has done so much with the help of her friends and the vocaloids. This story definitely shows how a lot of people feel, it comforts me when my life is a little like hers.
i cant even watch/read this event and see it as angsty because of kaito basically telling kanade to go touch grass (im still dreading for when this event comes to en servers tho)

It's rational to say Kaito shoulda been the featured Vs,still, it's Luka the one telling Mzk that the best advice for Mfy was that it's ok to run away (which she did in the final moment). Kaito told mfy to fight back to protect her feeling while Luka made her run to knd not to fall apart.
Kaito and Luka are both the mvps in this story imp, deserved king and queen ✨
And when Kaito left Mfy's phone and Miku, he went to Knd's phone to find out that Luka had been there observing

Meh,if N25 Kaito touch the fragment of feelings which accidently lead him to Shibuya,Tokyo. He might have a mask ans a gun/sword/bow and arrows with him. He will assasinated Mafumom in one-shot and stab mafumom on her chest (where her heart is) and put the kniff handle on mafumom's hand so everyone would think that Mafumom performed suicide and then he went to Kanade's house after complited his mission

Honestly without the BGM in most of the story here, It feels so chiling, scary and very emotional, it does a very good job on building up the tension

Honestly I kinda want the next event to be Ena helping Mafuyu somehow. We got an event with Kanade confronting her mom, and Mizuki teaching her about escapism. It would be interesting if Ena was the one to teach Mafuyu that it doesn't matter what her mom thinks. Maybe Mafuyu watches how Ena acts with her dad and takes something from that.
It'll be fitting because Ena's character arc was learning to keep moving forward despite all the stuff she hears from her father and others, it'll be fitting if she teaches Mafuyu how to move forward no matter what Mafuyu's mother says.
@@kendiaz89 Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking. Ena and Mafuyu are exact opposites, especially in regards to how they treat their parents. Mafuyu doesn-='t really care about what others think of her (aside from her mom ofc), while Ena cares too much and craves that recognition and praise. Ena puts alot of thought into the smallest details, Mafuyu doesn't even notice it. Ena doesn't take crap from others, letting it be known when she doesn't like something, while Mafuyu takes it with a smile and a thank you. Ena's dad isn't encouraging of her dream at all. When she first mentions wanting to be an artist, he immediately shuts her down, saying she doesn't have the talent. Ena refuses to listen and pushes on despite it. Mafuyu's mom forced her dream onto Mafuyu, and Mafuyu has never been able to stand up for herself until now. Ena's character arc is all about learning how to move forward despite what anyone may say about her, and I'd say she's learned that lesson well. Mafuyu needs to learn that, and there's no one better than Ena to teach her.
I’m also hoping that maybe Rui and/or Emu wind up getting involved again, since they’re the first two people outside of N25 to catch a glimpse of the real Mafuyu.

Am I the only one confused about who Mafumom was contacting at the end and in chapter 3? She mentioned that Mafuyu had been in this person’s care, and at the end of this chapter she seems to be asking this person what she should do about Mafuyu running away. A therapist of some sort? That doesn’t sound right…

I'd love if the direction the writers are going to take for Mafuyu's future is to make her an actual nurse, but still be able to do music with Niigo, because that would show us that no effort (Making songs AND learning to become a doctor) has been lost

This is a little bit of a vent but today I got my grades for the first semester and they were all A’s and I went home and watched the story out of curiosity and for some reason it hurt a lot.

It is finally over! Mafufu has cut her mom out(hopefully, im guessing she has ran away permanently but we don't know) and this story arc is over! I really hope the next one for niigo is about Mizuki and them opening up to Niigo cause that seems like what would naturally come next in the story but we won't know till after the third anniversary.

I REALLY CRY. once again i am convinced that the nightcord at 25:00 have a VERY strong connection with each other. the way mafuyu ran away to kanade knowing that she would always help her? how absolutely everyone rushed to mafuyu's aid, not wanting to leave her so broken? how did ena and mizuki, even being a little (keyword: a little) away from mafuyu, still search for her with all their might and worry? how much mafuyu loves and is attached to the nightcord that she even went opposite her mother, from whom she suffered manipulation all her life? I love them.
