things about this mv i've noticed: 0:20 - mafuyu moves like a puppet at the starting part, unlike everyone else who’s free. this shows mafuyu is still under control of her mom and how everyone uses her as a toy and how others can feel proud of because they can’t reach that goal. mafuyu’s movements are stiff like a doll when she’s in her stage play home. 1:07- 1:13 - kanade and mizuki reach out to mafuyu but before that, they alreaady stop. luka blocks ena from reaching mafuyu too because ena hasn't fully made a plan of helping her. this can refer back to kanade&mizuki's focuses right before this event. in imminscible discord, kanade tries to talk it out with mafuyu's mom without mafuyu's knowledge and in our escape for survival, mizuki shows that mafuyu does have the option to runaway, where she does now in this event. 1:18 - the rest of them (luka, kanade, ena, mizuki), are going down against mafuyu, showing as how they are like the people with the high expectations and put all the pressure on mafuyu to do good and reach the expectations they can’t meet themselves. 1:23 - during the chorus part, mafuyu finally breaks free and moves freely like how the others have been doing since the start of this song. the light as also turned blue, showing we’ve left mafuyu’s cold, dark empty void she has had inside her for the longest time in agony. she becomes more life-like and not stiff after she’s out of the controlling. there’s parts of the stage home once the chorus hits. 1:57 - kanade approaches mafuyu to help her now after mafuyu ran away to kanade's house, like how she helped her in the rain at the end of the event story.

The thing that gets me is that in that event where Kanade and Mafuyu’s mom met, they both agreed that they weren’t gonna tell Mafuyu that they met. Kanade avoided telling her because she didn’t want Mafuyu to worry further, her mom said she wouldn’t do it because it would “interfere with her studies”. Fast forward to this point, and Mafuyu’s mom never upholds her part of the deal, as soon as it’s convenient for her she will break it and use it to her advantage, whereas Kanade fully kept her word and said nothing about that meetup. One person cares about Mafuyu herself and her well being, the other only cares about what her grades and studies will look like so she can show her daughter off like a trophy. Mafuyu’s mother is such a gross and manipulative human being, it’s incredible how many little subtleties you can pick up on in her behavior

the way mafumom moves is so…eerie? she doesn’t move like the other 2D models. even the other NPCs don’t move like her, it’s so stilted and robotic i can see it especially when she moves at the start of her sentence at 1:53 (“But, it’s already late…”) and again at 4:55 (“My… the teacher has it hard too, don’t they?”)
