    • @tevmac93
      @tevmac93 6 років тому +1

      Thats true but people have to see this as well. With Steph gone you only have 1 or maybe 2 players that can naturally get their own shot (Durant & Cook is ok at it). The others need the pass or just not that good at scoring. I love Klay but a lot of his buckets are either from the pass, an open lane, to the basket or a pass then a dribble or 2. Klay can give you a tough made layup or spin fadeaway move every now and then. But even after that, no one can truly do any scoring on that team. Green can do a little something but he can't get you 20 a night. Steph gives players more space to operate and another guy who could score at will.

      Actually: after the team got Kyrie, they were improving year by year. And they were in route to make the playoffs in the 2014-2015 season rather LeBron came there or not. They might have been 7th or 8th, but they were in route to make the playoffs.
      2010-11 NBA Eastern 15th Central 5th 19 63 .232 43 - - [53]

      2013-14 NBA Eastern 10th Central 3rd 33 49 .402 23
      They were due to make the playoffs probably 7th or 8th seed in 2015 without LeBron. They were actually improving season after season. You can't just say Dan is a terrible owner. Now LeBron made them better; but he also left a gaping hole when he left. Not because he's so great, but because of the style of ball LeBron plays. Everything is predicated on him; and when he leaves, the team who never played true team basketball (Spurs, Warriors, Celtics, etc), now have to try to play team basketball in one season, after not doing so for the 4 years LeBron was there.
      Look at what Brad Stevens has done with the Celtics since the time he got there, enforcing team basketball.
      Their struggles this year are not just Dan Gilbert; its a combination of many things.

    They have 2 All-Stars. Durant carried the Thunder at an almost 60-win pace with just Ibaka and Reggie Jackson, no Russ, putting up wild stats.
    Why is that KD can do that with role players in OKC but he can't do it with another All-Star beside him in Klay, and sometimes with Draymond there too, while having pretty much the same level of role players as he had in OKC? He is playing bad right now, sure but this is not the norm, we can't/don't expect this type of play from KD consistently but... This scream coaching to me. Nick Wright said it: this team's identity is built around Steph. Why can't Kerr build something different around KD when Steph's out? Why do they keep trying to play as if Steph's there? Kerr is not adjusting properly, or at all. KD never had this problem in OKC. Why is Quinn Cook, the POINT GUARD, the only one successful right now? Curious... Kerr is not a good coach, period.

    The GSW have built their playing style around Steph Curry, so they lose that winning style and swagger when he's not there. It's not just the 3 point shooting, dribbling etc.
    It takes time for a team of individuals to group together, improvise and find rhythm with a new style/system and they haven't had that time with it only having been a couple of games since Steph has been out.
    Saying that, the Draymond vs Durant situation has ALSO caused a real loss in COHESION within the team, which I believe a lot of people are undermining simply because Steph has been missing.

    Love how the media rewriting the narrative. LeBron was not worried about the Cavs trading Kyrie when he was being shopped for Paul George. That ran the headline for weeks before it was reported that Kyrie wanted to be traded. If I were Kyrie, I would have wanted out too.
    The Cavs completely built the roster around the strengths of LeBron. When their contracts were up (JR, TT, and Shrumpert), LeBron lobbied for those guys to get paid. They fired Blatt at the behest of LeBron, claiming he couldn’t control the locker room (didn’t it completely fall apart under Lue?!). Blatt coached the Cavs to top 10 offense and defense. He coached up players like Delladova and Mosgov. The defense became progressively worse under Lue.
    Dan Gilbert is certainly not the best owner in the NBA, but he’s not the worst either. LeBron wanted more and more power within the organization. He DEMANDED unconditional spending and the Cavs obliged by having the highest payroll in 3 of the 4 years. They were second his first year with the team. Dan Gilbert even went out and put one of LeBron’s friends/business partners on their pay roll too!
    So this idea that Gilbert ruined the Cavs is completely trash. LeBron needs to be held accountable. He’s credited for all their successes when things go right, but accepts no responsibility for their shortcomings.

    • @atlien1988
      @atlien1988 6 років тому

      KD needs 4 stars and 3 refs to beat Lebron 1. Do you and the media suddenly have amnesia now? Kyrie was included in a deal for PG13 and Eric Bledsoe. When it fell through and Kyrie got wind of it, he demanded a trade. Of course the Cavs didn’t have to trade him because he still had 2 years remaining on his deal. But you think they would have been able to resign Kyrie after LeBron bolted in the off-season? Lmao keep dreaming.
      2. It’s funny how you guys are rewriting the story. When the trade was made, many people considered it a good deal for both sides. Cavs got back a first round draft pick (which ended up being the #8 overall pick) and some solid veterans. They just failed in Cleveland. Every player that they traded away performed better on their respective teams.
      3. Dan Gilbert is the owner. Danny Ferry was the GM from 2015-2017. Kolby Altman replaces him in 2018. Ferry confirmed that they had a trade in place for Paul George that fell through at the last hour. That’s why LeBron was upset (which was initially reported by Brian Windhorst).

      @@atlien1988 You have some serious insider information. PG and Bledsoe deal? Cavs were in every discussion for every single trade last season , please enough with what could`ve happened. I don`t see anything wrong if he is involved in players selection, but saying he`s a GM and owner makes no sense, especially knowing the history between him and Gilbert.
      Kyrie wanted out and he had to be traded, and Lebron didn`t want that to happen. Tristan and JR got deals based on outstanding performances in PO and were key pieces in a championship run(amount on their contracts is different topic). What Lebron has to do with their deals not matching their performances last year? I do believe he`s thrown a few cents, but you have to be delusional to believe he or any other player in NBA controls team`s payrolls.
