SEGA handled this situation way better than companies like Ubisoft and Rockstar that's for sure. SEGA: Delists OG Sonic Generations, however they still make it available via bundles therefore they are still preserving the original version some way or another. Rockstar: Delists OG PC ports of GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas from most digital storefronts including Steam, they will never bring back those original versions and they FORCE you to play the Defective Editions. You can at least use G2A or Kinguin to get GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas Steam keys, however depending on which game it is, the keys might be pretty expensive, while GTA 3 and Vice City keys are fairly cheap, San Andreas keys are really expensive and depending on where you live, it could cost at least over $100.

The problem is that any new fans who want to play the 10+ years of generations mods or any old fan who just got a pc wouldn’t be able to if the game got delisted
Which is why it's good they're keeping it available, but I can't help but feel that people will always be able to grab a copy of OG Gens even if it wasn't available anymore because of keys that already exist and other methods. Still a good thing Sega is keeping it around though.
@@AnotherSonicFanboyNow that it's delisted, those keys would slowly, but steadily, raise in price, as people would want to have access to those old mods. If they hadn't announced the bundle, Generations would join the list of Steam games that would be highly sought after but unavailable because of delistings, and the remaining keys, as they become more sparse and in demand, would rise in price significantly. Sonic 3K, for example, has the Origins version, but the original Sega Genesis Classics version that was delisted in preparation for Origins now goes for $35 on G2A because... there isn't a cheap way to get the original Genesis ROM anymore. And it's the easiest and cheapest way to set up Sonic 3 AIR.
I think people are just scared because they delisted the original sonic games when Sonic origins came out, which people were Not happy about. So, i think it’s just a case of PTSD
I can't help but feel pissed they gave us a half problem/solution and everyone seems fine with it. This is a joke and letting something like this slip is not okay to be completely honest. I really don't want anyone to buy a damn bundle just to play the original game like seriously.
I don't understand the anger here. The alternative is zero legal option to buy the game, since it's standard practice to delist the older version when you remaster/remake a game, and bundles one option to get a lot of games for a discount (per game) Most stores give you more money off if you already own some of the games in the bundles. So if someone in the future is only missing the original Generation and maybe two other games, it's not going to be expensive.
@@AnotherSonicFanboy see, i dont really mind the new generations, its expensive and dont really worth the full price rn on my opinion, feels more like an dlc, tou i was waiting for a sale promotion on generations since i lost my original steam account, but for me to have generations now ill have to buy a bundle wich basically costs the new version, because of games i dont really mind playing in tne moment.
