Plot owners, residents of 10 Morgan and local churches are holding a memorial service in honour of Dr Richard Maponya in Winterveldt, north of Pretoria.
He was a plot owner, a neighbour and a farmer who mentored young men and women in farming.
The area now boasts broilers, layers and chicken farmers due to Maponya's contribution.
