The wolf was to signify Fox's realization that he truly wasn't a wild animal. He was using his "wildness" to justify his behavior throughout the movie, but the wolf showed that it just isn't true. He's not wild, and he has to adapt to the world he exists in instead of pretending to be something he isn't, because that's the only way he can keep his family in his life.
hes not a wolf
It was also Wes Andersons entire reason to make the movie in the first place
he’s talking about the wolf more near the end of the movie that he sees on his motorcycle @@stellaomera8489
But why do they put their fists up in a gesture of mutual understanding and comradery if the scene is meant to highlight that Mr. Fox is different than the wolf?
@@stellaomera8489did you even watch the video?
To explain the wolf scene, everyone has a different take on it but here's mine: The whole film Mr. Fox believes himself to be a wild animal, a fox that, as he says, that can't be happy without a goose in its mouth. But he's so much more than just a wild fox. He is a father, a friend, a husband and was part of a functioning society. He's not wild at all, he wears clothes, drives vehicles and even speaks/reads English. The wolf is the turning point of his character, because he realises in that moment that he doesn't have to be a wild fox to be happy. The wolf, which does not speak, it lives in the cold harsh mountainside, and even that walks on all 4's, is truly a wild animal, and Mr Fox realises at this moment that happiness is not found in his 'wild side'.
I had one book on cassette as a young child, and it was this one. I listened to it about 40 times. And this movie adaptation knocked it out of the park. All the charm of the original story, with plenty of funny, well meshed additions.
Had no idea it was an adaptation until now
@@theawesomeman9821 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory/Willy Wonka, The BFG, Matilda, The Witches all made into movies from books by the same author.
@@paolom.6011 There seems to be some kind of curse of these movies. They’re all great, but they don’t do well financially
This movie has such a great cast! George Clooney, Meryl Streep as mrs fox, Owen Wilson as the whack bat coach, Bill Murray as the badger lawyer, Willem Dafoe as the rat, Michael Gambon (aka Dumbledore) as Bean, and even Wes Anderson himself voiced the weasel real esate agent!
This is such a nostalgic movie for me, and its even better as an adult. One of my favourites ever :)
15:07 is a top tier line of dialogue and the delivery is fantastic too
Btw, I LOVE your analyses and discussion after your videos. Esp in this one, you really delved into the themes you picked up and what you took away from the movie. I love that
Wes Anderson is such a great director. He has directed many live action movies that are really good too. Grand Budapest Hotel is my favorite Wes Anderson movie. I love all his films. Moonrise Kingdom is a good teenage romance movie. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou is what I call his Yellow Submarine. Darjeeling Limited is a good film. Royal Tenenbaums is said to be his best movie by many critics. Rushmoore is good. Bottle Rocket is his first movie which is good.
The VAs didn't record their lines in a sound booth for this movie, instead they did so on location while interacting with each other
I just bought this movie on Blu Ray from the Criterion Collection.
I think the black wolf is the same as the one in call of the wild. It's the calling to symbolize there's a wild nature about all of us deep down. N to not forget where we came from. That we're part of nature.
It’s one of my favorite scenes in a film. I always get emotional when the wolf raises his fist.
I read the book in elementary school and remember loving it. This movie takes some liberties and is a bit different than the story I remember in terms of execution but it's more or less all there.
My favorite part of this movie is that they don't actually swear, instead just saying "Cuss". Always leaves me in stitches & I now do it.
I think you would love all of Wes Anderson's movies. He's one of my favorites. He made one other stop motion movie called Isle of Dogs. It is fantastic and uses most of the same voice actors. He has also made some great live action movies like Moonrise Kingdom, Grand Budapest Hotel, The Royal Tennenbaums, The Life Aquatic, and many others. He has a regular cast of actors that are in most of them, such as Jeff Goldblum and Bill Murray.
This is one of my all time favorite movies of all time, thank you for watching this, this is one amazing movie and I’m glad more people are watching this one
Glad you enjoyed this film is simply brilliant. Loved your comments and reflection too. If you haven't watch Isle of Dogs, which has a similar humour/style (another Wes Anderson), you should check it out.
Ooooh! If you liked this one definitely look into more Wes Anderson films, a few of my favorites are Moonrise Kingdom and the Grand Budapest Hotel
Some generally popular ones are the Royal Tennenbaums or the Life Aquatic
Also there’s Isle of Dogs for another stop motion type choice
So glad you liked this one! I hope you can check out Wes Anderson’s other films. He really is his own genre 🦊
'lower your voice Ash' was more because the uncle, krisotefen's dad, has some terminal sickness and was saying stop talking so loudly with your cousin right there who is having a hard time right now with his dad possibly dying.
Easily one of my favorite films of all time. It just has a lot of heart. The behind the scenes are great too!
More Wes Anderson PLEASE!!!!! He's actually my favorite director! I adore his quirky style, color schemes, and understated humor. I would love it if you watch more of his films! He also did another animated movie called Isle of Dogs, which I bet you'd enjoy. As for live action, I suggest The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Royal Tenenbaums, and The French Dispatch (just to name a few). It doesn't really matter which one you watch first but I think going in release order would be a good way to experience the evolution of his directing style, storytelling techniques, and visual aesthetics.
I LOVED THIS MOVIE AS A KID! Its quite comforting to seed this again!
To answer the question about the author, Roald Dahl, yes he also wrote Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Roald is super well known for his stories and his books have had several movie adaptations through time. The BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Matilda and as a cherry on top he wrote for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Bro, I had no expectations for this movie because it’s stop-motion but I really enjoyed it, also George Clooney is awesome. Can you please react to Dreamworks’ The Bad Guys?
I loved the book as a kid. When this came out I felt like it really got the tone right even if it’s quite different in a lot of ways too. Love it
"Did this movie do well at the box office?" It's a Wes Anderson movie, so sadly 90% of the time the answer is "no."
Such a great, great film! One of my favorite Wes Anderson movies.
It gets a lot harder to empathize with Mr Fox when you reflect that he brought all this on himself. The farmers had never done any harm to him or his family, and he robbed them.
One detail it took me YEARS to notice: when Ash and Kristofferson are caught in the kitchen by Mrs Bean, she puts her glasses on. When Mr Fox et al hide from her when they're in the basement, she doesn't notice them because at that time, she wasn't wearing the glasses.
Wes Anderson is definitley a director worth watching more of when you have the chance.
This was a great adaptation of the book! Loved this story as a kid 😁
One of my favorite movie ever.
Wes Anderson definitely worth watching, I recommend the grand Budapest hotel, Moonrise Kingdom and The life aquatic with Steve Zissou.
He did another stop motion, Isle of dogs, amazing movie
Great reaction!
It was a lot of fun. I wish more folks would react to this film (and more Wes Anderson movies in general).
Hell yes! This is one I don’t see a lot, thanks for reacting to it!
You seriously need to watch more of Wes Anderson's films. He's amazing.
This has been a top 5 favorite movie of mine for like ten years; I'm so happy you reacted to it bc there's so few reactions to it on youtube and if you liked this movie you should definitely check out more Wes Anderson! I highly recommend The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Life Aquatic; and both of those movies actually are live action but incorporate stop motion animation into it in a really awesome way
Fantastic Mr. Fox is not only my favorite movie from director Wes Anderson but also it's a perfect movie to watch on Thanksgiving.
There's a fox that visits my yard every night. We feed him and call him The Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Great reaction as always. I know it's been awhile but I was wondering if you were ever going to continue with any Batman animated content? I highly recommend the film Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox.
YEEEES IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS REACTION
Judging by reaction - "Isle of Dogs" should be in your future.
PS, Roald Dahl also wrote "James and the Giant Peach".
I remember being excited for this movie. One of my teachers read the book to us in elementary school
Huh, I didn't realize there were so much adult stuff in this.
One of my favorite books of all time, I still reread it to this day (I'm 36!) I was so happy with how this movie turned out!
IM AT WORK BUT I CANT WAIT TO WATCH THIS WHEN I GET HOME OH MY GOD THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVE MOVIES I LOVE THAT UR REACTING TO !!
1;21 I remember classmates talking about how great it was in school a few years after it came out.
Yep. It is. Roald Dahl's children books are:
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator
Matilda
The Witches
Danny The Champion of the World
The Minpins
The Twits
James and the Giant Peach
Fantastic Mr Fox
The Giraffe, the Belly and Me
The Magic Finger
Esio Trot
Dirty Beasts
Revolting Rhymes
The BFG
Georges Marvellous Medicine
The Enormous Crocodile
Sorry if it's a repeat I didn't review the comments. But the author is also the author of James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, and the BFG. Others too. But those have been made Into movies. Along with Witches, which had a 90s movie and also has a new adaptation on HBO with Anne Hathhaway
I need more people reacting to this movie!!!
3:19 this entire newspaper is covered in excerpts from the book!
one of my favourite films!!
One of my favorite movies.
Now you need to see Isle of Dogs, Wes Anderson’s follow-up stop-motion animated feature
Yep, he wrote both Fanastactic Mr Fox and Charlie and the Chocolate factory.
So glad to see you reacting to one of my all time favorite movies!! I have a tatoo dedicated to that last scene in the super market. Would love to see you react to Marriage story on your channel if you haven't!!
Grand Budapest Hotel is definitely another solid Wes Andersson film, and you'll find some recognizable elements in it after having watched this.
You should watch Wes Anderson's other stop motion movie Isle of Dogs. It is really good too.
There's a British stop motion series I recommend checking out called Wallace and Gromit if you've not seen it yet.
It’s the most accessible Wes Anderson movie because it’s family friendly.
It is based off a book, by the same author as the original books of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", "Matilda", "The BFG" and "James and the Giant Peach"
I love this movie so much. Wes Anderson is one of my top directors.
This is one of my favorite stop motion movies 💚
I saw that movie back in 2019
i love this movie its very unique.
William Defoe didn't just voice the Rat, his movements are based off of him!
Roal Dahl did many childrens books such as Fantastic Mr Fox, Charlie and the chocolate factory, the witches and the twits
you 100% should react to more wes anderson!! such a unique, crazy talented director and not that many people have reacted to his movies on youtube
For Wes Anderson films, my favorite is The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. I remember working at the theater when it came out. It went straight to the smallest one, but it's got a lot of charm. I would try to catch it whenever I had some spare time.
22:25 it's symbolic. Using the very thing he stole from them to flood him out.
I went down the Wes Anderson rabbit hole a couple of years ago. I highly recommend The Grand Budapest Hotel.
bean is voiced by michael gambon - dumbledore's actor! and meryl streep voices mrs fox
14:34 It's Michael Gambon, aka Dumbledore!
3:18 the yellow mug is based off of Roald Dahls mug
Roald Dahl was very much a school staple as a child and this is a fantastic take on the original story and is one I rewatch now and then just for fun
I would love it if you reacted to some more Wes Anderson movies. The style is so distinctive and interesting.
This was a great film!
I now have a tab on my browser that says: **ADULT
Fantastic
Love love love this movie. Another one is Isle of Dogs, however I cannot get myself to rewatch it as, for me, it is much darker, but you should at least watch it once if you like this kind of style
Another Roald Dahl book! Your starting to get a few of his adaptations under your belt!
Yeah...heh me and my cousin Braxton were like that and yes I was the nerdy, pretty feminine and "weird" one in the family. Oh and there's a Stop Motion movie which is my childhood that has held up pretty well called Hamilton Mattress, Barry Purves directed it and it got a 6.9 out of 10 on IMDb and half a 5 Star on Amazon so you know it's not exactly a masterpiece but it has the ingredients to reach that status.
PLEASE watch Grand Budapest Hotel next!
Is this the start of a Wes Anderson binge? Please please please
Just for curious a fox can dig like 12m a day ;)
The wolf scène symbolise the respect from the wild wolf for the wild side of Mr.Fox
Roald Dahl was the author of Matilda, The BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Witches. Have you ever watched The Fox and the Hound? It’s really sad, but it’s a really good fox movie.
I think he did when was a reactor with White Noise
Wes Anderson is a genius!
James and the giant peach
This is such a great film! I think you'd love more Wes Anderson movies fuh sho!
Moonrise Kingdom is my favorite Wes Anderson, and The Grand Budapest Hotel is my friend's favorite which is an extension of his short of the same name
Recommend Moonrise Kingdom by Wes Anderson.
hoping you start watching films by studio ghibli- especially 'grave of the fireflies' (it's way better in the original language) and 'the tale of princess kaguya' (i find it gripping to watch the dubbed version but it's up to you!!)
This movie is a cussing masterpiece!
Ash is my favorite character.
just in general wes' movies are amazing, i suggest the grand budapest or isle of dogs (i want more people to watch isle of dogs as its amazing)
Please try Isle of Dogs!
If you ever get the chance, can you react to Isle of Dogs? It's another Anderson film and I think you'd like it.
Justatch any Wes Anderson movies. Always a good time
You should watch the grand budapest hotel 😃😃😃
Everyone should read Roald Dahl or read them to children in your life. Amazing stories.
More Wes More Wes More Wes More Wes More Wes More Wes
I love this movie, it's so strange kkkkk
A wonderful film which doesn't get the attention it deserves
XD Such a good movie!
I have a movie suggestion, this came out in 2006 and has a unique animation style, it's called Azur & Asmar: The Princes' Quest. Anyone else heard of it? It's rather obscure.
