well, kishimoto had no choice but to introduce the theme of "alternate futures" to fix the whole mess they showed at the beginning of boruto and possibly what came out in episode 1 is a different future and not the current one.
@@gdayosandu1579 There is a character in Boruto (who is one of his current masters) who can see all possible and existing futures, and he explained to Boruto about everything that would happen in the future, from the enemies that would appear, powers that Boruto would awakening and also explained about the fight he will have with Kawaki (and that Boruto will probably be forced to kill Kawaki), so the future said that this was the only possible outcome.

Meanwhile boruto right now is the polar opposite. He learned everything in order to not have to use his karma which runs the risk of momoshiki running loose that’s why he’s so strong even in base form
