Olivia is a really great songwriter, the way she portrays the feeling of culpability into lyrics is great…. But also the reason it’s not.
This song just sounds like a person who fucked up and doesn’t want to take accountability. And that’s not an uncommon thing to feel. But even though it’s common, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t want to take accountability when you did something shitty. From SOUR’s pov, this song just makes it seem like two people that weren't meant to be, got together, and both did something wrong. But the thing is, is that we only have this idea of both pov's from ONLY olivia's. So technically there is no both sides of the story since "both sides of the story" are only coming from one person. We as random people
on the internet will never know the full story though.
The song is great, but when listening to sour and this? It just paints her to be a hypocritical narcissist. Not to mention it shows manipulative behavior.
