I bought the book! It is captivating. It had me from the start. You go from his voice to maya’s. I found her basketball career equally as captivating as his incarceration. It really opened my eyes to the injustice in our judicial system. I bought today and I’m already finished. I couldn’t put it down.

I'm an atheist . . . And I think this is one of MY favorite stories. Unbelievable stuff. Perseverance and love that most people can only dream about. Happy for you Maya and Jonathan.

Always found it so strange that Maya ended such an illustrious career for a complete stranger. I understand her fight for that injustice, but she didn't have to sacrifice her career. Then once he was freed they suddenly married. And I was like, oh, there was something going on there lol

This has to be the dumbest comment I have read in a long time. You totally missed what she said, or you didn't want to hear it. Evidently her career as a basketball player was not as important to her as it obviously was to you. She discovered things that mattered more and choose he own happiness. I applaud her courage.

They look so different in just a few short years, what hap ? And I hope he never cheats on her, she sacrificed so much for him already. Also, wasn't she a minor when she first met him

    • @mmecm

That’s how you’re going to make this narrative of him cheating instead of appreciating the words he said about his wife and family and the work they are both doing. Stop projecting your life of being cheating onto this wonderful couple.
