I was there last summer. It was packed. The most authentic, left alone except the state keeps the buildings from falling. Use to have over a thousand buildings. 60 saloons on Main Street alone. This is the real deal not the the tourist traps like Virginia City, Tombstone etc.
The fact that people are respectful and do not molest the history there....gives me a little bit of hope for us as humans.
I agree. I think all the items left behind are more valuable left in place for people to see.
That's because it's constantly guarded by rangers
So rad dude, always wanted to check this place out. Great video
Nice explore! Its good to see that the location is being looked after. Amazing that so much was left behind.
My opinion, this was your best video yet. The background music, the respectful way you viewed the buildings was awesome, I could just imagine the old souls that lived there long ago.
Thank you, I appreciate that
Right! I wish I could have been there just to take pictures o how I love the old stuff
the thing you thought was a telegraph machine was a telephone switchboard. someone calling would reach the operator, who would manually connect the caller to the number they wanted with those patch chords.
Bodies a cool part of California history . 🤠🌲
Wow! Definitely your best edit to date, this place is now on my bucket list, thank you!
Cool old ghost town! At least visiting this time of year you didn't have to look out for rattle snakes. Like your adventures you take us on.👍
Wow! This was very very interesting. Thank you for sharing.
thank you again for taking us to such cool places . take care n stay safe 👍🏼
The soundtrack is a perfect accompaniment to an outstanding video. Real atmospheric ghost town vibes. Great work.
I appreciate that!
Interesting to see 1934 and 1937 calendars hanging up in the auto service building
I really enjoy your explorations. I live vicariously through your journeys. I especially liked this Bodie episode. Thank you.
Man... THANK YOU for this trip !!! Really enjoyed it !!! 🌵🌵💀💀👍👍🌵🌵
Beautiful video 🤩🤩
Thank you for this tour of Bodie. It's sad. Empty buildings always seem sad. Really good video. Thank you William. ☮️💖🎶
Unreal and fascinating, great footage!
Incredible, just like the people just got up and walked away one day. Well done.
Cool dude. Cool adventures.
Glad you enjoyed!
Awesome little ghost town. That still intact wagon was cool to see.
That was a cool piece
that was really interesting, pure history, long time subscriber from New Zealand👍😀
It was a visit to Bodie back in the early 90's that I learned a new phrase called "Arrested Decay", that's what they practice with the structures there, they don't restore anything, they just try to stop the rate of decay to preserve what has survived! Great place, some of my best photography ever!
I toured Bodie before it was a state park with the Boy Scouts, that was about 1955 or 56. That Chef. Coupe was blue then and had a Nev. license plate on it. You could go in most of the building unless the guard who drove around in a Model A Ford caught you. I have a picture of me looking out the jail barred window, which is funny because I became a Jailer for L.A. many years later.
I have a 38 chevy like your thumbnail but slightly better condition in my garage. 😊
Great subject matter.
Really great video technique and editing.
You are quite respectful and it's great how you showed us in each window of certain buildings. How many buildings you think built today will be standing 100 years from now like these are? And actually maybe it's 150 years.
Thanks for taking the time to drive over there and back to vegas. This is a really awesome 😎👍 video
I love it too thanks buddy, I’m in Australia and we have places like that also , I find them very interesting 😊
I love this old Town. Been there many times. I do oil paintings of old buildings and I've done many of the buildings from Bodie. Good video. I will be going back up there next summer.
My father was there in 1931. Said it looked like a good place to get killed.
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO! It is great that the items left behind are still there.
Cool video.
This was posted 11 hours ago how is this not at 1 million views
Amazing video 📸 thank you
such a cool spot....amazing how them structures are staying so well and the glass still looks new that school was awesome
That town is pretty cool RT! Would you please cover more of BBB them? They’re fascinating!
Employees live there? The silence would be very peaceful, but I'd be too chicken at night, lol.
great video. I dont know much about this place, but i dont think all those furnishing item placement is original...i bet too many people been there since 1932...
I stay out of Commiefornia. My 4X4 truck is illegal in Commiefornia because of the lift laws, and the guns I carry with me when out in the open desert are illegal in Commiefornia too. I stay in Nevada, Arizona, and Utah when I travel to remote areas.
Why didn't film that Cemetary? That's also awesome from what i've seen on other video's from Bodie. Anyway: it's still a nice video!
That was by far one of the best you tube videos of all time you captured some awesome shots. You could feel what it was like in there. Great job!!!
Amazing place, it's like they were given a time and date to leave and just went leaving everything behind
We have the picture of the the 37 chev coupe hanging on the wall . I’d love to fix all the cars
After watching your most current video of the car museum, it makes me wonder if any of these cars you come across in the desert are rare cars where very few were manufactured. 🤔
what made these people ;eave everything behind, seemingly in a great hurry? was it the fire?
Very very impressive, I love history and thank you Trooper for taking us here, my deceased Grandfather would be very impressed with Bodie California, he had a masters degree in History and wrote and published a book with illustrative photography about the history of Central Utah and its surrounding areas and he was an antique collector on top of that.
Thanks nice place
Was there someone else there with you? @ the 1:16 mark you can see someone about to cross the road.
Amazing place! Thank you!
great video just wish it was longer. Love seeing these ghost towns
Great job.
bodie is cool
Really! Looks a wee bit staged, but still cool
Wow!!
This must be on private land so explains why no vandelism...very nice time cap.
Bodie State Historic Park belongs to the state of California.
I am shocked that people haven't stolen every thing. Thank you, this is very interesting.
GREAT JOB! U certainly chose an excellent time of year to see "Bodie"; I was there a few years past in JULY; HOT & CROWDED!😮 AMAZING PLACE W/I HISTORY.....
I really "get off" visiting places where other humans once lived, fought, mined, or something historic happened there. Great video and narration! I'm finally going there this summer.
I was there in 74.. I was stationed at Castle AFB and me and a friend rode over in early October... Did you notice when you looked in the church there was a big square frame on the wall behind the pulpit.. It framed an oil cloth with the 10 commandments on it.. Someone stole it and they put some heavy gauge fencing so no one could enter the church... Everything else looks pretty much the same as it did 50 years ago... Thx for bringing us along...
No way that glass is OG. Americans aren't that respectful lol
unbelievably, the windows are almost bare, normally the window is known to be destroyed. Someone may have cleaned all the windows. Nice and quiet area.
People left because the gold ran out.. by the time the second fire happened in the 30's
Most people were already gone.. love this place
Very interesting! Nice video. I didn't know there was so much to see in the California area.
Amazing!!
It makes my heart flutter to watch this! Maybe there's a reason to go to California after all!
Cool thing about ghost towns it that there are some old folks out there who used to live there..or atleast some of their kinfolks..thanks for the trip.
The wood on the houses was typically oiled to preserve it. That's why it has the dark color
❤
I remember one building with coffins
Great place, thanks for taking us!
❤❤❤muy hermoso lugar🎉🎉🎉🎉
Minute 10:09 Wyandotte toy truck 👌
Your job is so kool 👍🏾❤️🔥💯
What car
Love it man!
Love it
why did you say literally before you said you can smell oil?
I'm recreating Bodie in Minecraft. I would like it to look like it did in 1880. Do any of you know what it looked like then and what kind of buildings were there?
There are some historical photos of Bodie floating around.. it was a big place back in the day...
Garyjones, thanks for the information
