Have had an RS620 for almost 3 years, excellent instrument in every way. Without much play time it bonds easily to the player, very comfortable and tonally inspiring. I have returned two Gibsons in the last 6 years because they don’t meet Yamaha (Indonesian) level of build quality. And I don’t like admitting that either.
Beautiful guitar and playing! I just picked up a RS820cs on closeout from my local Yamaha dealer. Incredible fit/finish and better out of the box than many of my guitars I paid way too much for. Thanks for the video! Cheers!
Revstars seem to be consistently good guitars. I really like the look of your guitar. The flat colors and white pickguards on some of the new models make them look like cheap toys, even though they are excellent guitars. You got a keeper. 😎
It stay in tune fine. No problem with the Bigsby. I don't do any 'dive bombing' with that trem of course, just some mild movement. It's a very solid instrument. I tried the 90 version at the Guitar Summit last weekend. Very good stuff!
@@PatDeJongeSoundwise Which one would you recommend? The new p90 version and this one are going for the same price second hand . Have tried the p90 version and was impressed, haven't played this one.
@@baseboy12321 Hey there. Well ...a P90 is a very specific pickup, if you know how it sounds and you can live with the, inevitable, hum-issues, than that's a great option. Me, I already have a few P90 guitars, so I am really happy with this version here. Just like the P90's they have their own voice, but without the hum issues. I used it now for quite a few gigs with no complaints. If it was me, I would buy this version. The pickups really sing, even at low volumes. I find that P90's need a bit more push of the amp before the sound comes to life.
Hey there. I sold the guitar to one of my students, it is quite substantial. I estimate like a non-weight relieved Les Paul. +/- 4 Kg would be my guess.
hi, this model and the Standard are made in Indonesia. I assume in the Cort factory, but i'm not sure about that. The more expensive models ( the Professional models) are made in Japan. I tried the Pro model, there is no difference with this one quality wise. The specs are a personal taste of course
It’s a great guitar but they are huge Jumbo frets made for beginners according to Yamaha. I found them super awkward so make sure you can live with them before buying it.

Amen to that! I have a LP here and the Revstar is just as good sound-wise and build better!

Thanks! Congrats with the RS820, that's a wonderful guitar as well! And they absolutely punch above their weight, I use it all the time.
Awesome match of player and guitar.
I dressed for the occasion 😉
I noticed that!
Beautiful!! Enjoy playing Pat!
Thanks! It is a beauty indeed!

amen to that :) I do agree, the new versions don't do it for me, I would've just walked past one of the new ones, but this one...
what a beauty!
Thanks Jiri!
Just picked up a mint condiiton with the gig-bag for £350.
Wow! that is a great deal! Enjoy that!
nice guitar 🎸🙂
Thanks, and it is indeed! People who come visit always talk about that 'looker'. It ticks a lot of boxes
Looks great! Does it stay in tune with the Bigsby? Been looking at the model with p90 and Bigsby

@@PatDeJongeSoundwise Good man! Thanks for the quick answer mate. There's one on marktplaats so will be in the running for that. Enjoy your guitar!
@@baseboy12321 Keep me posted!
What's this guitar weight?

Are these made in Japan?

@@PatDeJongeSoundwise Awesome, Thanks!
I had this in shop black, it was stolen. I now have it in ash grey.
Sorry to hear about the theft…that sucks. Hope you like your new one just as good! All the best

Hi, yes indeed, the frets are substantial, in width, not in height (at least on mine). So I actually like them.
