I stumbled over this this tutorial and tried it out with CzechMate Tile beads. Works perfectly as well. Thanks heaps for this tutorial, ist was very easy to follow your advice!
A real good and easy tutorial to follow. Thank you. I used Nymo thread on two needles as unable to source tuff cord. Worked easy to get this type of thread through the tila holes.
Hello Perdnee, and thank you for your question about the needles. We have used them in the past, but found that when laddering beads with tiny holes, it can be challenging with needles. When developing this technique, we found a thread that was strong, thin, and with minimal fray at the ends called "Tuff Cord." We love it and sell it at beadshop.com, and it comes in 16 colors. When paired with beeswax, needles are not necessary. I recommend it!
Hola Malucita. Aquí lidiando con una bronquitis que me dejó a mal traer. Deseo ustedes estén muy bién y disfrutando la primavera que ya muestra su esplendor en todos los árboles y plantas. Un abrazote amiga querida.
Made my first mosaic bracelet last night and I love it. Thanks for the easy directions & for posting the materials you used. I purchased what I needed, received it right away and can't wait to order more Tila beads!
wow, I just use a clip board. I tried a shoe box lid, but found it difficult to work inside the walls of the box. For me, anyway the clip boards are inexpensive and come in several sizes/colors etc. I recently got a "legal pad" size for longer wraps like this and find it ideal. I'm new to using the 2 hole tiles though, and look forward to trying this nice pattern. Thanks for sharing the clear, easy to follow video!
I just love my bracelet I made but of course I didn't read the comments before making it so I too didn't have enough tough cord & just made a single wrap. I'm so sad cause I bought the beautiful greek leather from you to make it & wasted so much having to cut it short. Should it be 3 times the length of the leather instead of 2? I hate to make more until I know, don't want to waste more supplies but am excited to make more
Rather than tying, I use those fat clips on the top and bottom - this way you can easily unclip to check and easily re-clip. At the top, I clip the "rat tail" at the bottom, the leather (doesn't leave a bad mark)
I am using fireline thread which seems to work well but I didn't have enough thread to finish to make a double wrap. Is there any way to add cord or do I i have to pull out all the beads I spent hours adding to my leather to make it a single wrap?
Just discovered this tutorial - LOVE IT. Please could you tell me the colours of the Tila beads you use in this tutorial and those used in your completed pieces? Tila beads are only just catching on here in the UK and shades are difficult to discern from the photographs. Also, some sites stock a limited variety such as opaque, transparent, frosted - a bit like seed beads and before purchasing, I would like to make sure they contrast as they are not cheap. Only objection to ordering from US sites is delay in receiving them and cost of postage. Once again, fabulous tutorial.
Hi, Thanks for the tutorial : it makes it look so easy ! ;-) I love the bracelet, espacially the colors. Can you please tell me the beads' color names ? I went through all the comments, but couldn't find the references. Please, I'm the worst when matching colors...
Hi Céline, So sorry for the late response. Here is a link to this project so you can see all of the materials used. www.beadshop.com/pages/mosaic-4-wrap If you have any question at all please give us a call. 650.474.0101
I’ve had TRAGIC results with a thread burner. I RUINED a piece I made for my mom that was a QUAD WRAP bracelet. It’s still holding together, bit just barely. MINE LOOKS AMATEURISH. I see YOU are a PRO.
I too did not have enough cord to finish and added on.. crude but it worked.. so the second bracelet I used 90" and THAT was not enough.. I have a 7.25" measurement around my wrist. Does anyone have a length of cord that works for them?? I LOVE the finished project in any case!!
Nice project, thanks for sharing. I think if you dip the ends of your tuff cord into nail polish it will be way more stiff and easiert to handle. Also I always heared Tila beads pronounced like teala beads. Is your way actually the right way to pronounce those beads?
Hi Bob, Sorry for the overdue response, but here is a link to one of our Skill Builders, which demonstrates how to add thread to a laddering project. www.beadshop.com/collections/how-to-add-thread-to-a-laddering-project If you have any questions at all please give us a call. 650.474.0101
Hi Rebecca, Here is our Skill Builder on how to add thread to a laddering project. www.beadshop.com/collections/how-to-add-thread-to-a-laddering-project In terms of how much thread you should use, it really is a matter of what you are comfortable with, but a good starting place may be 4 feet. If you have any questions at all, please email us at info@beadshop.com or give us a call at 650.474.0101
Is there somebody who could tell me the size of the box in which she does this bracelet ? (sorry if there's some language mistakes, I'm not a native english speaker...) Thanks in advance !
Kellie Smith Hi Kellie! We really love Tuff Cord, because it eliminates the need for a needle. That said, every beader is different and should do what works best with their technique. You can absolutely use a needle if that works better for you.
Beadshop.com has all the supplies including the box and insert. Look for this bracelet under "projects" on their website, and when you find it, click on the tools link.
Hi Brittany I used 80" of tuff cord and found it wasn't enough.Had to tie off and restring more. Love the bracelet it is beautiful and certainly one of the nicest wraps that I have ever made. Thanks for the clear instructions. I use a loom which I purchased (really expensive) some time ago but find your way of securing the bracelet to a board much easier and more efficient. I would love to purchase a similar board but can't find it anywhere other than your site, which ships primarily within US.
I DID just watch that video for In The Garden and it show show to add on thread if you are doing macrame and/or Bollywood... I do not see how to use that method when laddering the tila beads. My attempt has the ends where I knotted the two pieces together, sticking out! I little more detail on that please beadshop.com... thanks
Hi Heather! You can find out how to add thread to a ladder bracelet in our Tricks to Laddering video: beadshop.com/projects/youtube-videos/tricks-to-laddering.

Thanks for the tutorial on how to silk wrap. I was really stymied until I watched this. 😊

very helpful and informative for a beginner
Hi .... love this bracelet. I have so many different beading threads/cords. Is there anything I can use in place of the #1 tuff thread?
Hello Ladydawn, thank you for watching our videos! When you say you ran out of cord do you mean leather cord or tuff cord?
Brittany I would like to know if i do not have tuft cord, what other type can i use??
I can NOT hear or understand what cord your using in brown that goes thru each bead
One mm what kind of cord pkease
Great video. The bracelet is amazing! Thanks

I found that 6 arms length of thread is good for double wrap bracelet.
Someone was asking where to get the board. I used the lid from a shoe box! It worked really well!!!

I made this bracelet twice and each time after wearing the bracelet became twisted and unwearable. Any idea how to remedy this? Thanks, Karen
I’ve had TRAGIC results with a thread burner. I RUINED a piece I made for my mom that was a QUAD WRAP bracelet. It’s still holding together, bit just barely. MINE LOOKS AMATEURISH. I see YOU are a PRO.
Could you Please tell me how to add more cord, I didn't have enough.I really lovethis bracelet
Is there a supply list somewhere that I’m missing?
Fabulous, easy to understand. I loved it.....thank you
The sample created was made for a 6.5 inch wrist and used 65-70 beads.
I've been using upholstery thread. Is tuff cord stronger then that?
When you have a multiple wrap bracelet, how does the tray work? It seems the multi-wrap would be too long.
Hello Consuelo, the thin thread that we used was called Tuff Cord in size 1
I too did not have enough cord to finish and added on.. crude but it worked.. so the second bracelet I used 90" and THAT was not enough.. I have a 7.25" measurement around my wrist.
Does anyone have a length of cord that works for them?? I LOVE the finished project in any case!!
Great job! I enjoyed watching and learning from this tutorial...thanks so much...
Great tutorial! What weight C-Lon do you use? Thanks.
Thanks for this great tutorial. Good, clear instructions for a beautiful bracelet.
About how many tila beads are needed ? I have leftovers from another project but not sure there are enough.thanks, Nancy

What do you do if you run out of tuff cord while making a bracelet?? Is there a way to add more? Bracelet is not long enough yet

It looks like an 11 or 12 inch jewelry tray you can get at www.nilecorp.com or www.firemountaingems.com etc.
Can you use a beading needle to thread the beads?

You can find them on eBay. Just search from their lowest price on up. I bought mine for $5 each box of about 50 tiles, if I'm not mistaken.
thank you for this. Very well done!
How do you add string???!!!
Hi Heather! You can find out how to add thread to a ladder bracelet in our Tricks to Laddering video: beadshop.com/projects/youtube-videos/tricks-to-laddering.
Why don't you use a needle wouldn't it be easier than keep waxing the thread
