I remember hearing about this book coming out as a kid. Specifically….
me at recess in 3rd grade: “man there should be a book where Punisher teams up with Batman.”
Other kid: “there is.”
Me: “Whaaaaaaa????”
As far as DC/Marvel crossovers go, this one ranks among the most well-done. The previous Batman/Punisher meeting (Lake of Fire) was written by Denny O'Neil with art by Barry Kitson and starred Jean-Paul Valley as Batman. It's not as great as this one, but it's decent. I have both of them, plus both Daredevil/Batman.
Whenever I think JRJR I think X-Men, to me he is the premier X-Men artist

I never knew of this one but it looks realy cool. And while I'm not much into DC stuff, Romita made that gothic batman silhouette with the pointy ears look amazing!
This comic is one of my all-time favorites from JRJR. Another crossover from the 90's that I really liked is John Byrne's Batman-Captain America
They really need a JR JR artists edition. I need some of his Punisher pages/covers in large format in my life.
Never got down with this one, but Hearts of Darkness (the JRJR Wolverine/Punisher/Ghost Rider teamup) was absolutely my shit. Hope you guys review it on this JRJR run

Little known fact: Both of the Batman/Punisher crossovers are unofficially part of the Knightfall/Knightsend epic. The first (Lake of Fire) is the start of Knightsend and the last (the one in this video: Deadly Knights) is the final comic in the story.
JRJR is a big Simon Bisley fan- particularly his work on Judgement on Gotham. His take on Batman here with the big ears and the long gauntlet blades is exactly the way Bisley draws him in Judgement. I bet you if you ask him he would tell you so.

Man, JRJR and mark Texeira defined the 90's for me when it came to comics.
I still have this book. I was in middle school and got my mom to buy it for me from a spinner rack in the grocery store. Lucky's which is now Albertsons.

Micro is a character that honestly works better as an armorer who gets Frank black market weapons, like in Alexander's PWZ movie.

It breaks my heart that the incredible line art in this book is buried under the coloring.

"Lets go hangout in the Batcave robin!" hahahaha too funny Jim. Great JRJR art, but I dont care for these colors, feels too heavy too muddy imo. Maybe the printing process makes it come out like that? And is it me, but are there no sound effects in this issue?
Batman is clearly, 100% crazier than Punisher, and if I had to choose one of those characters to exist in the real world it would absolutely be Punisher, Batman is wrong and letting Joker go makes Batman culpable for every further drop of blood the clown spills.
Just saying.
