Good morning Sean. you should have used some of your waste cardboard to cover areas of the ground to keep it frost and weed free 😊

Stop spending and save for your gravel for the greenhouse base and the car 😮

Ohhh Sean when you have energy please dont waste it on bits and pieces and crack on with something on that plot no matter what it is otherwise you will be rushing like mad to catch up all of a sudden. I know it wasnt fit to dig necessarily but you could have pulled everything out of that shed and had a really good sort out amoung other things like cutting back brambles which will take over. Stick a casserole in the slow cooker with that broth you have with some meat and veg before you leave and go for it. When you get home you will have a meal all ready and a great sense of achievement. As Monty Don says there are still plenty of jobs to be done in the winter that you dont have time for the rest of the year. So looking forward to you getting going.

Yes I’ve noticed that the sun goes down about a half an hour later now. Always a good sign. ☀️

Electric kettles are safest but your new one is nice looking. I once left my house forgetting a sausage was boiling in water. I arrived home just as the water was all gone and sausage browning. Miracle. So now stay in the kitchen when cooking. Lesson learned. There's super cold coming here but the longer light in the evenings is hopeful.

The frost isn’t over in East Tennessee until after the first week of May, so that’s generally when we plant things.

Wow the temps are still very low, the days are getting longer with light levels. Spring is on the way

I have noticed it drawing out at night. Not so much lighter in the mornings as I'm usually watching you 😅. The weather gods have been kind to me this week we had a new roof on . Was worried after the snow and ice last week but we had a week of sun in South Yorkshire, no rain so the roof is all done just have to have the scaffolding taken down then i can get in the front garden and sort it out as even though I've got raised beds and flower boarders they walked all over it. Wouldn't have been so bad if they had made one path but they didn't it's the only downside 😔

I would like to see you making your Welsh broth. Will that be on a this platform? I think you have Spring Fever. Here in Canada, we are now in the depths of winter. No spring is in sight. January, February and most of March are long and depressing. I have noticed there is a bit more daylight at the end of the day so that is a good thing.

Our weather in winter is very similar to where you are, beautiful sunny days at times and yes frost everywhere… seems if the skies are clear the night before, we wake up to a thick layer of frost …I’ve lost so many plants due to it … I now end up putting my veg in big pots in back concrete under cover, I don’t have a poly tunnel and you really need one here otherwise weather and rabbits/wallabies eat the lot 😮

Hi Sean, Thank for the videos. I randomly watched your move back to Wales a year ago and have been hooked ever since. Love the idea of a slow life. Doing my best to integrate your ideas into life here in Tassie. Take care

Direct plants,I'm waiting on 40 prunus cherry laurel hedging plant's in 3 litre pots from them,I don't have to worry. about them being true to size and the quality, after seeing what you purchased from them. Sean on the trellis, will the bottom need to be anchored into the ground to stop it from falling over?

Could have been a disaster leaving that kettle on Sean! I have OCD and always have to check everything is off (more than once) before I go outside. But you were in a rush to catch that bus I know. It is very frustrating when you have the energy to do a job, but you can not because of one thing or another, as it was with your frozen ground at The Rusty Homestead. At least you got to start your lovely arch. Blessings from a cold and frosty Wet Devon, England, and Jilly & Madge. xxx

I’ve got a few in my gardens and when they bloom they attract hundreds of bees !
I’ve got the dark blue what did you choose ?
A stunning shrub when it matures.

Clear, beautiful skies lead to heat evaporation when the sun goes down because there's no cloud coverage to trap the warmth.
I can't wait for Spring!! I think it's going to be a great year in the garden!

Good to know about the P.O. Box. Do you you still want the Big Chief tablets? The ones I see are top glued but not spiral bound.....yes?
It's cold and some days wet near San Francisco .. But yes, 2 days ago I saw the light angle change in the morning! Comes in a particular window and all but blinds me for a few days spring and fall!
