Whaa Malin there are tons of people who would love to be able to run their own shop like you do. Even if it's not "full time" it's still a job to be proud of. You're doing great for 27!
I feel this. After graduating with a bachelor's in Art I had a hard time finding a job or I had really bad jobs that didn't make me happy. I felt really behind and rethinking my choices. I decided to take a bunch of classes to try and improve my skills and get better. I know I'll reach my goals and it's going to take time.
At almost 49, I have learned that 27 was a moment ago and yet 2 decades. Follow what brings you peace and allow that to change whenever it suites you. No need to stick to "expectations"; whether social, family, self-set etc. Those pesky expectations can make one miserable kat. :) You got this.
Thank you for being so open and honest about your depression and struggles. It's an important to talk about and being open about it helps break the stigma that surrounds it. You are wonderful and I love you art.
I learned at a very young age to not try to plan out my life. In my experience literally nothing goes the way I think it will but ends up okay in the end. I just go with the flow & it has reduced my anxiety & stress since then. My life has been full of one horrible thing after another yet somehow I'm doing better than I could of ever planned. Life is weird that way. 🤔
Totally understand about being down about your life as someone in their late 20s. I’m 29 and have never had a stable full-time job. My brother is 6-7 years older than me and has a wife, 2 kids, a dog, and a well-paying full time job where he supervises others. 😂 it’s really hard to be an artist who’s unsuccessful in comparison.
you're doing so great, malin. i see how much you're picking yourself up through all the creative things you're doing and you should definitely be proud of yourself for that! i think remembering the things to be grateful for is really important-something i wish i had done when i was struggling with my own depression and anxieties too (but i'm glad i managed to find the light somehow). you're right to say that we're all on our own independent journey. i'd like to think that through love and kindness, we will find solace in walking through this journey of ours, together. looking forward to your next 'draw with me' vlog! i have my Procreate ready and on standby!
Ms. Malin, I've been subbed to you for a good few months now and only NOW and I able to watch your videos and after a pretty sorrowful June (My older brother went to be with the Lord.♥), your videos are being a tool into helping me stay calm and creative and joyful in the giftings that I have been wanting to share more of outside of my successful gaming channel. I want to thank you for that and say that you have such a beautiful and pure aesthetic that I truly appeal to and I can't watch to keep my eye on you and see how more you grow as a person. I am not that much older than you, but I do know that you are in NO RUSH to find your place in this world. Use the gifting that Christ has blessed you with to change the lives of other people. Be it your shop and or your art, use it as THAT is the foundation of which you are to stand on. Thank you again, Ms. Malin, and I hope to see you soon!-Whitney♥
Don't compare yourself to others (not even your brother). You are doing you and that's the most important thing. You said it yourself, that you love what you do, and that's all that matters! Success looks very different for everyone.
I feel like crying when you say the word “Timeline”. I’m so stressful these days because of that topic. I always have a fixed timeline in my life. I study Architecture and this is what I love the most. I also have a very determined path that I want to choose after my bachelor degree. But the only problem is life doesn’t work with the way I want. I’m now 23 and final year student. 2020 is the wasted year because of the Covid. And now because of the military coup in Myanmar, my education journey stop completely. I have been thinking about studying Architecture in Thailand. But you know this is not that easy decision I can make. I only need 3 more months to complete my degree in Myanmar. But there is the very confusing situation for us to finish my Thesis and go to university. If I decide to study in other country, I need at least next 4 years to get bachelor degree (and I will be 27 at that time) not to mention about the money. I feel so hopeless and stressful because of all that thought like age, education and work. Most of my friends have a permanent job not like me. Life is so hard, Malin.
Life is stressful especially when there is so much more people to compare with! But it’s important to remember that we grow at our own pace and instead of comparing to others we should lift each other up :’) I hope you find a way to feel better soon!
I totally understand those feelings. I graduated from University in 2017 and have only really worked Retail part-time since then, while pursuing my artistic endeavors. You're an incredible artist and should definitely be proud of yourself
Omg I totally get you 😭 I really enjoy running my shop but it's inconsistent and I'm scared of this whole freelancing thing. BUT when I worked a "real" job I was happy that I had money, but I had no time :') sometimes I do want to live a conventional life but idk what makes me happy yet 😬😅 I come from an immigrant family too so I feel even more guilt that I'm just drawing and making stickers 😂
I will be 35 next month and let me tell you I am happy. No I am not where I want to be fully. No I’m not where they say my age should be. I am where I want to be and everything and one around me is doing what they love. At the end you reached your normal and that is what matters. It will be okay. It will always be okay.I always say measure success in your light not in others. You are you. It’s only one you. Why try to catch up to others norms? I’m a older millennial so I guess we kinda realized this and passing it on to younger ones. Much love. I love your vlogs and I always order from your shop. I want others to live their dreams.
Malin, you are beautiful, you are talented and you are so kind and smart! i'm so proud to have you as my friend ! you are successful and so loved ! (hugsss) love your new hair style ! when will " made by dad " channel be published? 555555
I really understand your struggles with the conventional timeline. I’m 24 doing my 2nd year of my masters degree but still living with my parents because of covid and I’m so scared of the future. Soon after I finish my masters I”ll be 25 with out any experience and that gives me quite some anxiety. So thank you for sharing your experience, know that you’re not alone 💕
I love your hair colour 💕 I'm 22 studying my year 2 degree in graphic design and I sometimes can understand how you feel because I faced similar situation as well. I have to say you're really strong and you're brave about sharing it to us. 👏👍
You asked to link our shops if we make art prints. I just launched my Patreon this weekend, so I don't have a lot on it yet and the tiers are subject to change for larger projects. I intend to get into art prints, enamel pins, and washi tape as I get more support in the future. I want to thank you for these inspiring videos! I wouldn't have been so brave with pursuing my art career if it weren't for artists like you! :)
I also love art but i’m a really negative person and i always hated myself. It started when i am 6 years old. I am 26 now. I also draw but i don’t think what i do is good. So I stopped enhancing my drawing more. I feel so lost in life. I don’t have a clear path. I have dreams but i don’t think i am smart or good enough to achieve those. I also stopped going out and i just sleep all day. I don’t have friends and i don’t know who to talk to. Videos like these make me feel okay. It gives me little hope that someday, i’ll start loving myself again 😊
Drawing takes a lot of practice! I learned that a person’s natural drawing skills stop evolving at age 12, everything afterwards is practice and practice. Don’t give up! I’m cheering for you ❤️
hi! i just want to share that I find it amusing that I look forward to your videos everytime regardless the content. i could listen to your rants everyday and that amazes me >< thank you for ranting to us! btw whats your zodiac sign?
Find yourself useful and on time! You dont need to be like the others, you just need to do what you love, and I’m pretty sure your parents are really proud. I am 35, I got’married when I was 23, then I moved with my husband. I Never worked and it took me 5 years to have my son! In France you are lazy if you stay at home with no child. I built our house and I didnt care anymore about others opinion. We moved again because my husband was tired where we were. Now we have a new house, 2 other babies, and I try to create a shop with my little sister. I find myself happy as I am. I got legitimity because I have 2 babies…but I am useful and helpful for more than them!!! So are you!!
where do you find all that inspiration for your drawings and stickers? I think your stickers are so beautiful and I really want to do it as well as you can!!🥰🥰😁🥰🤩😘
I feel like most people are trying to get out of the full time job to be freelance, including me. Yes I agree! We need to destigmatize mental health and prioritize it too :’)

Such a gorgeously calming vlog Malin!🌸🌛
Thank you Joanna!
You have to remember things happen for a reason. Plus comparing yourself with others isn't right. We are all individuals
