Hello Mike driving condition are perfect it's less stressful driving at night when there are fewer vehicles on the motorway. You make good progress heading to your destination from south west england. Where i live in scotland there are only 3 decent motorways in the central belt and border country namely m8 m74 and a74m to m6. All the rest are dual
I used to drive up to Scotland a lot in the late 80s & early 90s for work. I worked on fire engines, mostly in & around Edinburgh. A beautiful city & stunning countryside. ☺
When I was a child my father drove from glasgow to swanage. It took him nearly 13 hours. 0nce you leave the m4 corridor in rural Wiltshire you still have to use non dual carriageway roads to your holiday destination. It's a lovely seaside town swanage I've been there 5 times with my family. If i fancied a break I could go there next year with my friend.
