It's possible to return to Aquoss, theres even a contract available at Tundrars that takes you back here, however it will jump you straight into the first fight without giving you a chance to choose your equipment.
Totally lived up to it's name! We miss you Psygnosis!
This game looks fantastic, I love shooters like this. And the music is wonderful too. I feel like there's another word to describe this... Awesome!

when this came out, i didnt even play it that much. i just watched the (for that time) technically brilliant intro video. awesome indeed.
Me too. I tried and tried and could never get anywhere, so just ended up watching the intro over and over
Psygnosis always pushed the envelope on the Amiga systems. Look at those polygonal explosions and parallax scrolling star fields!

Awesome was indeed awesome. So awesome in fact, Lemmings made a reference to it alongside Shadow of the Beast and Menace.

This game is awesome.
@retronostalgic The first fight on Follas is against a fuel convoy, and you get something like 2 or 3 fuel for every red blob thing that you pick up from the convoy (Though I don't believe this is essential to have enough fuel to finish the game) The only other things to do are making sure you take the missions which award you with fuel, and making sure you stay at the hotels long enough for your destination planet to be close to your current planet.

I saw that there was another version of the game as someone had posted a youtube video of the first level, I noticed it looked alot different. I'd love to be able to see what the rest of the game looked like.

Is that some actual sprite scaling we see in the 3d level? Or it is just that the graphics are blocky to simulate sprite scaling?
I suspect it is just a whole of the same sprite, all precalculated the head and body, and front of back. Makes a neat looking Space Harrier style effect anyway.
How do you land on the planet stage? I'm playing this on an emulator and can't figure it out. Is there a keystroke?

@Thiima52 i've been playing this game on an original amiga on and off for the best part of 20 years without managing to do it without the cheat. You seem to be getting too much fuel at follas compared to me. Why is this? (its driving me mad!)
what happened to psygnosis?
Bought out by Sony in 1993. All the staff left in 2001 and they changed into SCE then Studio liverpool. This went bust in 2012.
@retronostalgic You can get away with not visiting lots of planets if you plan your journey and make sure you have enough fuel and credits. I only went to them all in order for the video but you would probably never do this if you were playing the game properly.
Great presentation but the perspective and gameplay seem misguided. And of course, that box art..
Geees I sucked I could only get far as Folas when this came out
