This Years Model was one of my first albums I bought after Never mind the Bollocks. It was a life changing event somwhere around the time this video was being recorded in 1978. Thanks for posting droog!
macaholic100 AWESOME. A fellow droogie! What made a difference between regular "punk bands" was that the Attractions were EXTREMELY TALENTED with their instruments... Like to a ridiculous level... They also pulled influence from more than most bands similar to them at the time... They pulled from not just pop, but punk, jazz and fusion, prog, literally everything! It made them pretty much "genre-less", which is always the sign of a perfect, special, one of a kind, band/artist... I do, however, think Elvis lost ALOT of his energy, uniqueness, virtuousity, funkyness, etc. after he lost the Attractions... They MADE him... For lack of a better word or phrase or anything else I can pull out of my SADLY LIMITED LEXICON... They really were PERFECTLY suited for him... It's absolutely amazing and special... Thanks for listening and have a wonderful week! Sincerely, A Fellow Droog Mr. S.A. Ward P.S.: And as a bassist, Bruce Thomas is one of the few players that made me pick up the bass and start getting interested in music in the first place! :-D Their rhythm section was so absolutely astounding that it should have been illegal! They were SOOOOO DAMN TIGHT! I strive to have that with all my drummers I play with...
Steve Nieve, the organist, is only twenty. What a trip that must have been for him. Nobody ever moved me like Elvis. This Elvis. Until this video I don't think I ever heard Night Rally. Is it on Armed Forces? I lost track of him after the first two.
Closing track on the UK version of This Year's Model. Evidently was replaced with "Radio, Radio" on the US version to capitalize on his Saturday Night Live appearance. They should have kept both... and Chelsea, which was also on the UK release.
@brianallancobb I sympathize, I'm losing my hearing, too. I recommend purchasing an "inline" headphone amplifier. They aren't very expensive. Just be sure that the one you buy has a volume control on it, and the right size jacks/plugs on it to fit the plugs on your headphones and audio output device jack. Also, with the right size plug/jack adapters, you can move it along with the headphones to whatever device you need, such as between computer, home stereo, boom box, etc.
It would have to BE an actual *amplifier* to work, not just an app for mobiles. I've downloaded "volume boost" apps to get better volume with an air tube headset on my mobile, and they really don't do anything.
@@lookbovine Actually, the performances of Night Rally and This Year's Girl (following it) seemed to perk 'em up a bit. Maybe they were shell-shocked out of the gate, and had to get acclimated.
Brilliant songwriter in his prime! Best video I have ever seen of Elvis, "The King"!
OMG. I had never seen this version of “Night Rally”! It totally kicks ass!
Two Little Hitlers is one of his most brilliant songs....THANKS FOR UPLOADING THIS VIDEO!
I've always appreciated the cleverness and literacy of his lyrics.
That drummer is a beast!!!
Arguably the most underrated drummer in rock who has played for a well known act. One of the best, period.
Woww!!! Elvis was never known for his solos--not his bag. But the best solo I think I've heard from him is brilliant (middle of "The Beat").
Underrated guitarist.
I miss Rock 'n' Roll. Thanks for the Video!

One of costellos top ten songs
@wpollock1
Hell yeah. Night Rally is bloody fantastic.
They are on FIRE! FIRE!
Excellent performance by a tight band, and EC is godlyke. Thanks for posting this video.
My three favourites from TYM... thanks for uploading, this is AWESOME

Steve Nieve is nothing short of GENIUS !!
@mrpicky510 Saw he bout 5 years ago with EC and the Imposters and he's still drumming like a freak !
Great series (1 & 2)...thanks.
Pretty determined playing. Sweet!
Thank you.

Because of his stunning looks.
At 7:45, you think he is really into the music? Ya thinK? Night Rally has to be the most under rated song he has. This was a real treat.
Elvis ROCKS !!
Can somebody please repost this louder?
I'm deaf as a shovel. I squeeze the headphones to my head and it's still just a whisper.
Thank you.
NIGHT RALLY.
@wpollock1
And there I thought I had This Year's Model memorized.
OMG!
@brianallancobb It is on This Years Model. A slightly different version (in my estimation better) is on the "Girls Girls, Girls" compilation.
7:25, Elvis at his best ¡¡¡
not yet age 24
wow
He's decent enough, and he's done decent things lately.
Night Rally. Sadly topical right now...
Pulled this one out special for the home crowd, eh ...? B@llsy, lad.
Night Rally or Two Little Hitlers? Ballsy for sure. And people wonder why the ending applause was so tepid...

Was this band ever a bit crap or were they born consistently fab? Also, gig in Germany, let's do those songs about Hitler and night rallies.
@MrDorkusMaximus too geeky for early ec & the a's but luv ya anyway !
troll much?
