Some of those early EC songs had enough energy to create an explosion. In addition to being the greatest songwriter of our time he also has the best drummer , the best bass player and the best keyboard man in the business.
These guys were a classic. Got in underage by a year when they first came to Canada at the El Mocambo on March 7 1978. They so kicked ass! Apparently there is a live recording of it floating around. Pritty well the same set as at the Rockpalast in Germany...most of the first album and the best of the second. They were so tight and it was so refreshing...the last half of the 70's was just one big rock and roll trip...chicks and all
For my money, memories and good taste, these from arguably his best work..This years model. Can't be faulted as a piece of pumping singalong venom!! Love it all
Bruce and Pete at their absolute best.

Most underrated drummer who's not totally obscure, IMNSHO. Kicks some serious ass here, and tight as the proverbial watch spring.
yes band is everything
EC's mullet wings were on point
This Year's Girl blows the studio version to bits. Man, oh, man these guys were on fire!
No , on speed !
@@um9272 Ha ha, that too! At least *some* of them.
The "No Action" is just ridiculously amazing. What a pace for the entire set.
No Action, fuck yeah!
Musicianship at stellar levels - many thanks
"No Action" is nothing short of blistering!

The first 33 seconds of this, as the instruments come in one by one, is awesome.

Incredible drums. Especially on "No Action".
My favorite album of all time. Pure perfection from start to finish!
I'm in awe of this man. And his band.
Elvis was...and remains...KING!
Swetting to the oldies elvis for sure .
The Hardest Working Man in Power Pop
I saw them back then is a smaller club. I was never the same afterwards.
I hear you on that. Add in the early Talking Heads and the Joe Jackson Band, and 1978-79 saw some life-changing live club shows.
The Attractions + EC best when mixed together. One of a kind.
The young punk mr.MacManus is always a hoot!
My teenage years ...i loved them ! Still do !!
angry elvis was always the best elvis

Bands and sports teams are built through the middle. Case in point, Pete Thomas on drums.
Brilliant drumming! Pete Thomas’ biggest influence was Mitch Mitchell.
I think Pete got better with age.
Of COURSE he's sweaty, Pete's playing No Action at 100mph and is all "Keep up f***ers!"
costello in his looking like woodyallen/petetownsend era^^.pretty damn cool , wasnt it?
Not a great version, but one of the greatest songs ever written. Genius.
Trippy Chelsea
Anyone know what keyboard Steve Nieve is playing on top of the Vox Continental?
@Evinruderascal Dude It ws included on the Box Set mid 90's GOTTA GET IT !! Lots of Stage Banter that should jog your memory
FUCKIN EXCELLENT
Can somebody please post this louder?
It's just a whisper to this aging punker.
hes sweaty :o
Maybe it's because he's playing in a tv studio under the hot lights?
...or lots of drugs, at least that's what I want to believe
no way you can remember or sing all those intricate fast-paced song lyrics if you're on drugs.
