- On this episode we take a look at a great new recent pickup in my collection, the GSD-3A 'Explorer' from Greg Stevens Design. I've followed Greg for a while on Instagram after seeing his pieces pop-up in my feed more than a few times. After a fair amount of waiting, he finally released something I could resist, in this model, with the shown configuration. I'm really enjoying the simple and well balance design aesthetic and am happy to share my thoughts with you. Let me know what you think in the comments below, thanks guys!

l really like these explorer style (non-homage) watches.
I see there's no playlist for this genera. But I know you have a few of this type of watch.
Nice presentation. The watch looks solid but there are so many like this. Sadly nothing special here other then a very nice leather strap. At this price I would take a Hamilton Khaki field watch 42mm automatic.

Great looking watch and you can't really beat the price for what you're getting. That classic explorer we look has been tried by many but Greg did a great job. On top of that you get one of his straps...I don't think people really take that into consideration. You're getting a great looking watch, with damn good specs for the price point, and a handmade strap from a guy that made his name making straps for Panerai's...so on top of the watch you're getting a $100-200 strap? Yeah hell of a deal.
I just became aware of the GSD brand and am impressed by the look including the current pieces. What I am not impressed by is the "yawn" trolls at the end of the comments. Nice review Mark - I may be late to the review but never behind to liking watches.

The aesthetics are good. However, it is too high for my tastes, and it is expensive for the specs. I like the dial, but not enough of a USP, when compared to other watches, even from big brands.
That was such a weird decision to name as Greg Stevens Design. The word Design on second line just looks so awkward. Greg Stevens just makes it sound like a fashion brand as well...like Ted Baker. I like the minimalist look and the strap looks great.
With that big dial and all that spare real estate, no writing above the six (not from what I can see?), those arabics look like they could be moved further in. They look to far away from the center of the dial. Maybe it's just me...
