We mess with each other but one thing is for sure, I took a lot of good things from Tim. His problem solving skills, work ethic and ability to run a crew has surely played the biggest part in my overall success so far in life. Tim was the guy on the crew that would see you struggling with something (likely pissed off it wasn't done yet) and yell over to you the exact way to win the battle in the fastest, most efficient and quality way. Huge thanks to this man and if you guys appreciate the videos I'd appreciate if you hit the like button. None of this would be possible if it wasn't for guys like him leading the way! Feel free to comment below and tell me about the crew leaders that helped shape you into the hard workers that I know you all are. I'd love to hear even just one thing you learned from somebody on your crew that has helped you out the most. For me, I wanted to be the guy with all the answers like Tim was. It encouraged me to show up everyday and dare to be great.
You don’t see a lot of professionals wearing flip flops in construction.
haha I knew that was coming! he came to do a j-channel race, not work. his call not mine lol
Humble man!..what us fans up in PA say!...get a comfortable pouch set up brother!...you seem very uncomfortable with your hammer holster, try doing a 9 pouch, leather 2 hole strap on your left with a metal hammer hook on the right!..works for me man!.. been doing it for 20 years!...anyways, LOVE the content brother!...do more live streams?
I'll get on some for sure. And honestly I actually really like these bags. I was fresh off a relapse red bull and all jazzed up honestly lol
@@NWIVeteranConstruction leather belt is comfy man!...get that hammer on your right side, right on the hip!...just a suggestion
You are a super professional!! I really love your job!! 💯⭐💯⭐⭐💯⭐💯⭐💯👏👏👏👏🤝
thank you
My buddy dave. Him and I ran the shop. 21 years. Laughing, joking and kicking ass....89 hour weeks...many 5am to midnight weeks also.....51 now....and I dont have to do that shit anymore. Slowed down and smelling roses....
that sounds like a blast! lol
A "carpenter in beach flip flops" I would love to see those j channels up close.
Used a speed square on j channel ? If you can’t cut 1 inch on a 45 come on
Your mentor wears sandals to work lollol. Try out those J notchers super convenient
haha he only showed up to j the window but i'd be lying if i said i haven't seen him wear them all day siding lol those things look dope but i'd only be using them for the notch because i fold my corners around and they're a lil too much for me to want to buy them just for that
@@NWIVeteranConstruction what do you mean fold the corners around? The rain flap? They notch that too on the first click the second click completely cuts off the back
@@ivtec845 yea I knew that I just meant that I prefer to fold it with the nail flange attached so I can nail it right and the corner won't ever budge
@@NWIVeteranConstruction oh yeah I know what you mean now yes deff best to leave the flange on to nail the corner. I know once everyone has there methods that are efficient no need to reinvent the wheel lol
@@NWIVeteranConstruction he is a Gee for wearing the sandals tho 🤣
Appreciate the content as always my man. Not only is it extremely entertaining as somebody who does the same work , but I learn a lot of new things and also new ways to do things I do already.
thats what its here for thank you!
Amateur hour lol jk
@Zach I can tell that Tim is just a real OG in the construction world. I've known guys like him that were just always a level ahead. It's like they are just naturals.
Yessir it's hard work and finding the best ways to do it. Conscious practice goes a lot further than just being present at work
Yeah I knew that last message was gonna show up, my boss wouldn’t have let me do those cuts like that no matter how clean it looked LMAO
lol yea those lil L cuts leave gaps in the corners, back when we both worked for our old boss a homeowner complained about the "gaps" and they have a point, if you look after the siding goes up there's gaps where you can see wood/house wrap or the window nail flange. doing it like the notching tool doesn't take much longer as you can see and it looks/functions better too
I have never seen anyone take so long to put J channel around a window. You guys do things totally different than down here in the south. Gotta remember you ain't building no piano. The main thing I want to know is where are you guys getting all these one story houses that are so close to the ground? Have you ever seen a 30 foot walk board? Have you ever started at the ground and finished by hanging the soffit and fascia last? As in starting at the ground and completing everything as you go up?
Yes
Also, if it's so slow, beat it lol tims win done even count here because his quality was bad with the flange overlap
@@NWIVeteranConstruction I'm almost 70 years old started hanging siding when I was 15 and hung into my 30's then took a job in a plant as a maintenance man until I got laid off. My dad died in 95 and in 98 I had a heart attack and to date 16 stents and open heart with 3 bypasses. So I seriously doubt you could out hang me during my prime. I really cant tell exactly how you're going about installing and cutting the channel. If your trying to miter it all on a 45 it's not wood so really no need for all that. We worked as a team one cut the other hung everything especially after we reached ladder height. We did use a homemade miter box once one of us was off the ground mainly for soffit and short runs between windows and such. Seldom did we install siding or the accessories on a wall that wasn't covered with a foil on paper type vapor barrier and or foam core. Get back to work you can't make any money sitting down you're just a nickle holding up a dollar. LOL
Come to Nebraska and shingle my house
what you payin LOL
The very beginning was a amazing intro with that joke lol. Was this intentional ? 😂
Lol nope he was just doing his normal thing
Love watching your videos man, my main gig is window installation but I’ve been on my fair share of roofs too in my life more of a grunt in that game but I just like to do and learn about it all..
Come on close up vid of the windows. We wanna see for ourselves lolol. He one from the begginging wearing flip flops doing siding 🤣😁🤣 man I ain't had no time for shit all this work to get done and no one wants to work anymore. One of the few channels I actually enjoy watching. Keep up the good work n videos ! Boycub just didn't wanna show you two up that's why he wasn't in it. 😁😆
haha yea maybe! thanks for watching
Did u mitre those corners?
Yea
Beat by a man in flip flops
I should've titled it "my sensei whipped me in flip flops"
Hooah awesome vid
thank you
- I bet he had some beers in the morning for that good shape! :D Cheers with a cold one from London dude.
could be
It’s your name and reputation, high standards. I love it!
yes sir thank you
You DON'T wear flip flops on a jobsite!
yea i can't stop him lol not even on my own job
Nice job guys! My work ethic came from busting out 3 story cedar shakes for 5 years with a bunch of former inmates. Next time you do a J-channel video can you get a close up on the tabs you fold I seen something that I can take from it but couldn't see how it was done. Thank you guy 💪💪🤘🤘
I have an awesome j channel video if you look back about a year or so. Fast forward to 28 minutes if you want to avoid all the detailed descriptions and just see it done in real time up close
@@NWIVeteranConstruction I know the one now that you say that. I watch them all the way threw to the end. Also too if you do painting you should do a video just on tips and speed or if you know of a channel lmk
Great vid I definitely learned a bit and stole a dirty joke from trimmy
Haha right on
Not only did you get beat. You got beat by a man in his work sandals
Straight up lol
I think the contest was to get the job done, and he did. Great video.
When I raced boycub on the roof, yes. But nah actually we didn't use any of these pieces really
I like 👍
U r amazing I like to work with u
I appreciate that thank you
