I always knew Jason never really wanted to kill Bruce, he just wanted to prove his point. You can see it when he kills Bruce in this scene, he’s Lowkey sad by it and most likely didn’t want to do it but had to. Jason even said in new 52, that he always held back when fighting Bruce and that he never actually tried killing him cause he was “Bruce”.

You know what makes this scene more ghastly, it feels like it just ends there with credits, no music, just the sound of flickering flames, Dick doesn’t come, no cops or Gordon to clean up the mess.

They don't lock him in Arkham, but instead, the Batfamily have him contained in the Batcave until they are able to find a cure to get him back to normal and thinking straight again while Jason retires from crimefighting to work out his own issues. But it's kept vague whether or not they even manage to find a cure given the circumstances of Bruce's condition.

The Lazarus Pit, from the descriptions, either incorporates a foreign presence into the user, or the mix of what makes it work influences the user's brain chemistry (particularly the centers of the brain that deal with aggression, by the look of things), and considering the state of the user when they use the pits, it leaves the user open to become either host to the presence, or influenced by the mix. Jason may not be as indominable as Bruce is, but by exhibiting more flexibility in his mentality, the changes weren't as severe, as he could allow that loss of control. Bruce, on the other hand, would fight that with everything he had.
I'd like to think its because Bruce is already past the point of no return (which is why in thr Arkham games he didnt even want to attempt to euthanize Ras). You aren't supposed to use the pit but a few times because it fucks with your biology and it seems as though in her desperation Talia used to pit on Bruce WAAAY too much.

This is "Batman: Death In The Family". It's part of the DC Showcase short films, but with a twist. It's one of those interactive stories. If you get the Blu Ray version, you can choose what happens in the story, and the ending is always surprising. If you get the digital version, depending on where you get it, it's just one of the stories that plays out normally.

If you get the digital version, depending on where you get it, it's just one of the stories that plays out normally.
