I had same noise for 3 months coming from tailgate area and finally found a good dealer that fixed it by greasing the dried up rubber gasket around the back window.Now no more noise.one dealer wanted to remove the whole roof to fix,but I found another dealer who fixed it in à few minutes with the spray grease.Now the jeep is 100%.
