Thanks Joe for showing the basics, this helps newbies to ARUBA configuration. Showing the actual equipment is really helpful. Means even if you have no access to the equipment you can recognise it when you do. It's amazing that more courses don't do this.
Jumping into my first sys admin role and diving into CX switches when I have only messed with AOS-s and AOS 8 is terrifying and your videos truly help make it a bit less stressful! Thank you for all the detail.
Thank you very much for starting this series, this is really helpful. I think for beginners it would be very helpful to show Aruba best practices for general configuration.
Hi, I'm new to networking and would like to know how to connect a router to a switch (can be any switch). To be more precisely I want the switch to get Internet access on all port and vlan to separate communications between certain devices
Yes, can't wait to see the advanced configs, would like to see bgp, ospf, active-gateway, route leak between vrf. Thanks in advance and please continue with the cx series
perform the factory restoration of the aruba 8320 model JL479A just like the manual, the problem I have now is that the Global Status LED is amber and I don't have a network, it won't let me enter the console, why would this problem be, what would be the solution ? I checked the connection and still have the same problem.
Local access = Console port, is primarily used for local configuration and troubleshooting of a network device. Remote access = management port, is designed for remote management and monitoring of network devices. Thank you, yash
one quick question: Does the cx serise still have the quick "menu" setup option in the CLI. The reason I ask is that 90% of the things i need to do are in that, and it has a REALLY nice interface for setting up vlans
No, that is a complete different switch. Also the S2500 Mobility Access Switch (MAS) is end-of-support, so not recommended for business critical operations. Check here for documentation on the MAS switches: asp.arubanetworks.com/downloads;products=Aruba%20Switches;productSeries=Aruba%20S2500%20Series%20Switches
Those were given away at EMEA Aruba airheads events last week. We've had a lot of interest in them. They're not available to purchase externally though as far as I am aware.

Thanks for the suggestions, that's the kind of thing I was going to cover. Stay tuned!
Great series! I really like it. You are explaining it in a very easy way, so that everybody can understand it. Keep going ;-)
Thanks a lot, very beneficial, could you please add videos on VSF Stacking and how to update the firmware in vsf environment.
Nice job, very helpful! Thanks
New but related TOPIC: consider showing us how to create GNS3 environments using AOS-CX so we can create home test LABs.
Aruba-CX is available as an OVA so you can import it directly into Virtualbox. asp.arubanetworks.com

FYI, NTP seems to be enabled by default on the switch in 10.06.0001/10.06.0002/10.06.0010.
Thanks for this video.
Did you connect the console and management cable to the same laptop for configuration?
how could i practice this and actually following this though , i dont have the device , could this be found in packet tracer as well ?
What is the difference between the console port and the management port? I thought the console port can be used to manage the device
Local access = Console port, is primarily used for local configuration and troubleshooting of a network device.
Remote access = management port, is designed for remote management and monitoring of network devices.
