This effort you hear on this video. he out of key..flat and cannot hit most of the notes. Typical rock singer. Most of them never sang properly from the start. that's why they stink when they age.

But the last 25 years or so overall have lost the sound of simple lyrics, great tunes, and a dynamite vocal to top it all off. This song is basically the chorus and 2-3 sentences. But it not only says so much, but resonates in memory even four decades later, and is no way out of date either. Bravo.

I keep hearing this comment on just about every 80s singer. It's clearly a few octaves lower but good. But I'll take this over playback any day.
