    Handhelds are always a lot of fun. In a way, they're more timeless than home consoles.
    Also, the Game Boy Color story hit me right in the feels ;-;

    Talk about the feels with the Gameboy Color is touching I give your friend family my condolences.

  • @videogameboutique2196

    Did you regret not keeping in touch with your friend, before he passed away?
    It's particularity hurtful, when someone passes away, that you knew in your youth. It's really special when you know someone in your adulthood, that you knew growing up.
    This is because you can reminisce about your youth together and therefore, you will always be a child at heart.
    I wish i still knew people i grew up with for this very reason. All my friends or not even friends, just people i know or knew of as a child would suffice for me.
    just as long it's someone that connects me to my youth....
    If anyone reading this has a friend they grew up with, you're truly blessed and you should not take that friendship for granted and never lose contact.
    Because that is a relationship that can't be replaced by new friends in your adulthood.

    Good video, It feels nostalgic going over your old games you played as a kid.
    For me my first handheld is purple Gameboy color from family in Europe with Metal Gear. So many fond memories

    Really nice video. I really enjoyed the storytelling approach. It's something different to what everybody else does. It's a great mix of talking about the console itself as well as some experience that you had with the console. Otherwise editing was on point as always. Also the GameBoy Colour story was quite sad. Wish you all the best!

    With regards to your approach of telling a story with each system, I'd say that's a really nice idea. We're pretty much all enthusiasts, so you'd be telling us not much new by listing specs, especially for older systems. But telling a story makes it all more interesting because we've all had certain experiences linked to certain consoles and hearing one person's story lets us remember our own.
    Slightly off-topic, wanted to say thanks for your channel. Your videos of the Neptunia series of games is the reason I got into them.
    Also, I find it interesting that you moved from Germany to Canada. I went the other way recently.

    I remmember buying my first console ever. It was DS Fat model. Still have it and play it time to time, eventhought I got DSi XL for a Christmass few years after. Now - ten years later I have lot of other systems but that old grey fat DS will forever be my most favorite one.
    I really like those kinds of videos, where you show collection of something. It´s quite inspiring, I am thinking of purchasing an Xbox 360 because of your previous video. :) Greetings from Czech Republic.

    I used to have a blue ds lite when I was a kid. I really loved it because it was one of the few things that dad gave to me which was kind of him considering he lives in the Philippines. I can only imagine how expensive it was for him. Unfortunately when I went back to America some kid stole my ds from me and I've never been able to get over it ever since. ;(

    You can clean up most of the gunk on the edge of the white DS lite using computer paper. It takes a while and you most likely won't get all of it but just slide the paper into the edge and slowly work your way around. I picked up a used DS lite and had to do that myself.

  • @BlackFantasy470
    @BlackFantasy470 5 років тому +2

    That's quite a collection with some really interesting stories.
    I still have most of my handhelds: a yellow original Game Boy (with clear case), a purple Game Boy Color, an original Game Boy Advance, a DS Lite, a 3DS XL, a PSP with custom firmware and a Vita.
    I like the Vita the most because it has some great jrpgs on it (I still play them on the PSTV) as well as the last Corpse Party game and the 3DS which I mostly used to play Fire Emblem games.
    I haven't played on a handheld since two years though.
    Do you show your home consoles as well?

    • @whatsupbossanova
      @whatsupbossanova 5 років тому +1

      Billy-wayne Jeffcoat if the DS has a good GTA game I might bite, but other than that I’d say that PSP is very good for gaming, and it can play PS1 games as perfectly as PS3 can, as well as other emulators you can throw at it. It also makes for a great media player. So I’d say that the PSP is more convenient than a DS.

    • @billy-waynejeffcoat4828
      @billy-waynejeffcoat4828 5 років тому

      @@whatsupbossanova GTA Chinatown wars. And more convenient I'd argue, it folds up to protect itself and takes up Less space. Also DS lite can play GBA cartridge games perfectly which also has a great library( don't get me wrong the ps1 had amazing rpgs but I like physical copies). I know the psp can easily be hacked to load up emulators and ROMs into it but I like physical copies of games

    Do you have a hand held Super Nintendo? My friend has one and it is shaped like a large SNES controller with a screen in the middle. Games are inserted in a slot at the top. I suspect this was something manufactured in China way after the Super Nintendo ended because Nintendo did not come out with a hand held Super Nintendo in the 90's. I would appreciate any information you might have on this hand held Super Nintendo as to who made it and when it was released. I have seen another SNES hand held that is shaped like a small box and opens up with screen on top and controls on the bottom half. This one also has remote battery operated controllers. Do you know who made this one and when it came out. If you have either of these do you have an idea of their price?
