Maybe paint a line on the boat so it's easier to determine based on the extension of that line, because the viewing angle plays tricks.
If your intention was to create drama instead of a fishing show, well done. I do have to give props to Mr. Randolph for calling a penalty for being 1 foot over the line (his words) from a 30 degree angle with no reference points, that is excellent vision. I used to enjoy this show years ago, it has now joined most of the other content on social media and television creating drama instead of good viewing and competition.
Fishburn and Thomas can't compete so this is how they make their living. Randolph exposed his bias before the match ever began.

Why get all worked up over fishing? Both were wrong, But Salzman seems like he might be a little hard to get along with.
