Hope you get to review the Graffit X at some point. I know they've delivered a total of 0 bikes so far, but maybe in 2025, they'll be some to actually review.
I’ve kind of shy away from Lyric, the reputation has went downhill a lot since I rode their initial bikes. I would not recommend buying a bike from this company and have rejected doing further reviews because I don’t want people spending their money and not getting a bike actually shipped
Since June of 2022 pre production orders I have not seen one owner report on the graffiti, website information on the specs on the graffiti is inconsistent / doesnt match on whats on the bike. I would hold off on this e- moped.
I'm watching this in 2024, fid they lower the specs from this prototype ? Cause website says 1000 watt nominal and 2300 peak. Numbers you gave were way higher.
OMG I hope like hell that they do something before the final production version comes out because this is garbage for the money. I have had this in my cart 3 different times and never pulled the trigger, even with 300 dollar off, and I'm glad I didn't. Come on Lyric, I'm really wanting to buy this from you, but this is the second review video that's giving me pause. I have 3000 dollars burning a whole in my pocket, but not for what I'm seeing.
Onyx rcr’s are $1000 dollars off rn for Black Friday, look into it, much better bike for $200 more. This lyric for $4500 (with two batteries) is not good lmao
Something that I don't think anyone has noticed, how would one change the belt? Usually bikes with belt drives have a frame that separates a small section to pass the belt through...
I'm sure if you owned the bike you could change the specs through the eggridder bluetooth app because I can see there is one on that bike I've got one on my bike as well my friend so I can tailor my bike around the way i ride 😀
Did you happen to hear anything from Lyric on when they anticipate to start shipping? Just pulled the trigger on Friday after watching your review but didn’t realize they weren’t even shipping yet. Awesome review!
I'm in the same boat. I havn't seen any reviews from owners yet. I'm wondering if any production models have been sent? I'm a little concerned because, like you I didn't realize that the bike wasn't yet in full production when I ordered.
Nice! Yes I was told you were the next stop, I liked your take on it, seems we made similar observations. Glad I made it home before the battery ran out! Too bad we didn’t get to run it with dual batteries
the peak is 2600 watts for one battery pack. with two battery packs you can output the controllers max 100 amps if you change the settings in the bac 855 controller
No you can’t as doesn’t have a battery blender and they when with a switch instead. So you have to switch from one to other battery, since both are not connected at same time. The reason they did that is using regenerative braking which isn’t compatible with battery blenders.
@@thetechgenie7374 they are saying it peaks at like 4600 watts though and one of those battery packs cant hold anything bigger than like a 45-50a bms. maybe they mean phase amps or its just marketing
@@Timbodacious The cells are rated for 8 amps each and in a 5p configuration as 17.5 Ah capacity. So they won’t be able to push more then 40 amps continuous max. So likely they are using a 30 amp to 35 amp BMS and likely what going to fit in casing as the regular shark casing it not the jumbo shark. You don’t want to push them at max as you have power cut off issues and Samsung 35e in 5p are good for about 30 to 35 amps continuous as any higher voltage sag becomes a issue and would cut controller out prematurely. Then the controller itself at 52v setup is go up to 2000w? A lot of people including myself used this controller with Bafang builds and tested it to max. It also what Grin technology uses to make his Franken runner controller which is a derivative of this controller. The famous Phaserunner is hitch is also ASI electronics. They good 500w to 2000w pretty much. You can get the 90 amps peak phase current out of them but you need additional heat sinking so won’t overheat and 72v setup with a real 50 amp continuous battery. The dual battery version of the Lyric Graffiti doesn’t have both batteries connected at same time as they decide to go the switch route instead of battery blender/equalizer as they did brake regeneration and not compatible with battery blenders.
@@Timbodacious They thankfully updated their website before they advertised 2500w nominal continuous and they had that in the battery tech specs as well. Now they change to 2500w motor and took away the nominal continuous part and left the 4700w peak. Before they had controller at 90 amps and put it now at 50 amps. The problem I had was they were advertising it as nominal continuous current everywhere on they site and was how was they we’re marketing it on their website? They did try to argue the reasoning and I explained to them why that was wrong so I guess they finally updated website? Yep have to do a update video on that one. I didn’t see that one.
I saw you said that you are 6‘5“. I’m 6‘4“, do you think the bike fits comfortable? Do you think the seat cushion needs to be extend it all the way back?
It’ll fit you for cruising, pedaling will be goofy. The length of the seat cushion is fine, I’m not sure if you’re talking about extending it onto that little rack back there, but that’s pretty far back so I’d say no.
I'm currently riding the Hurley big Swell v1 which doesn't have much range and a VERY uncomfortable seat, but it was super cheap. I'm thinking I'll probably sell it and upgrade. I was leaning heavily for the Lyric Graffiti until I saw your Bandit X-trail review. I know it's much more specked out, but I still feel like the Lyric is cooler. It's also more expensive for less of a bike. What are your thoughts comparing the two?
I actually agree with your assessment. I mean for the price and full suspension, bandit makes more sense in my opinion. But I heard they made some upgrades to the lyric since I last rode it.
@@JuicedJoyrides They have. There's also a forthcoming Lyric Graffiti X with full suspension and a much larger battery. I feel like I might just wait for that guy. Your channel is awesome by the way! I used to live in LA and ride my Zero SR everywhere you do reviews.
Grizzly does have that rear suspension for a nicer ride, the dual geared hub motors on the grizzly are likely better for 0-10mph and steep hill climbs but the direct drive Lyric is likely better from 10-30 mph acceleration and higher speed performance. Both are sweet, I think the style of the lyric is better personally. Hope this helps!
I gave my assessment of range at the end of the video, I think 20 to 30 miles is a realistic expectation, however, like every other electric bike, it will significantly depend on how much you weigh, and how hard you accelerate and how fast your average speed is. Maintaining a high average speed will kill an electric vehicle battery faster than anything else. I think ultimately the best way to determine the range for an electric bike is to simply look at the white hours of the battery. This is a 48 V system and a 20 amp hour battery. That equates to 960 W hours of energy on a bike that weighs in the neighborhood of 80 pounds or so. So, like I said, 20 to 30 miles as what I would expect, you could certainly get more than less if you ride conservative and pedal more. Hope this helps dude.
Seems to be they are going in that direction just using their brand to cash in on all the people who don’t know there’s better products out there at a lower cost
Super73 are polished for sure. I think they underperform for the price. They kinda are, or were, the cool toy to have, but now they’re everywhere and nothing special in my opinion
Actually it won't "always" be the no 1 bike...if you haven't noticed there are new e bikes coming out every month that blow 73's specs out of the water for a cheaper price. Has super 73 done anything on improvements? Nope. I liked the 73's frame but it's not worth spending 3700 on a bike that only does 31mph and very slow off the start. The e bike market is exploding and 73 is lagging big time.
This bike has a belt drive. Right off the bat, I'd buy this bike over the super73. Also, no durailleurs makes this bike much more reliable than any chain drive/derailleur system. BTW, 95% of all the moped style ebike are ugly anyway, so who cares?
That up the steep hill is a complete fail. These guys are also taking peoples money without actually having bikes to sell. That's not clear on their website. Did you meet these people, what was your impression? I'm guessing the production bikes will never come to fruition and a lot of people may be left empty handed. If this is a con, then reviewers like you are being duped into pushing the scam along.
Yeah, I was not really impressed by the hill, climbing performance, but the speed is pretty decent. And yeah, it does seem like they’re shipping and actual production is behind schedule.
I was very interested in this bike until now. 37mph with a 2500w motor!? My ariel rider grizzly goes 35mph with a 1000w hub motor if I put on both motors I go 37mph. This bike is trash.
