Yup, I knew that they would've all died in several occasions without Lucy there, also I don't know why people don't like Lucy, and why they think that she is the main character, the main character is defiantly Natsu, if you look at almost all the pics that Hiroshima posted you can see that Natsu is in front of them, Natsu always saves them, the openings and endings, the first characters introduced and if you read the manga you would find out. To be honest Lucy is pretty epic like the others in the team, and is not weak, she is actually quite strong or at least gets really strong later on in the series, same with Wendy. To be honest I didn't like Lucy much at the start but started to get attached to ALMOST all the characters after I got to know them, I really don't like ichya, his cheerleaders or to be honest most of blue Pegasus... Well who can blame me!?

He does like nalu ^_^ he admitted that he likes it when the main male and female characters end up together, so our ships do have a chance to sail, and if Lucy dies how will fairy tail end happily, how will nalu happen? Hiro said that because rave master had a sad ending, fairy tail should have a happy ending ^_^ to be honest I am over the moon with that because, like almost every fairy tail lover, I feel like I've got a bond with the characters, so I will be gutted if it had a sad ending.

I think they just don't understand her importance to Fairy Tail and underestimate her to much. They over-criticize her character and compare her to the stronger, or more obvious characters and deem her weak and useless, when in fact, if not for her, they would have died inbonenof the earlier arcs, we wouldn't have our ships, and it would be pointless.
I think people hate her because she's usually the first one to chicken out of things like in episode 50, after being told the mission, Wendy and Lucy are the only ones to (assumingly) jokingly chicken out, BUT, Lucy chickens out first. There's a few more examples.

Actually, Natsu wouldn't even went on that job for Duke Everlue. They only went on the job because the flier said that Duke was currently looking for blonde women. So they wouldn't have even went on the job, Natsu and Happy tricked Lucy.

Deliora might be alive since Lucy's CSs aren't there, making it hard to defeat Sherry, everyone that was sent to Edolas and became lacrima would've not turned back to human since Gajeel isn't there(but Mystogan could approach Natsu/Wendy BUT STILL no one can turn Gray and Erza back to their human bodies), Tenroujima could've really been destroyed and their strongest members might have been dead because Gajeel, Juvia, Lisanna, Lucy, and other peeps I haven't mentioned are not there, making their magic power higher. Dragons might rule ze world. Tartarus will also rule Earthland since Lucy isn't there to summon CS King and cast Urano Metria.

You wouldn’t even get past Laxus’s “Battle of Fairy Tail”. Because in many scenarios, either the town is destroyed, forcing the council to disband Fairy Tail or Laxus wins and Fairy Tail loses half its members. Either way, you don’t go past here without it being even worse. I did a “plan to fail” run (from Young Justice Season 1 episode 16: Failsafe) and Battle of Fairy Tail has no good endings, and that’s if you could even get that far.

If she didn't join Fairy Tail, then Future Rouge wouldn't go in the past to kill her, and if he didn't go in the past he couldn't say to princess Hisui about the dragons, so the princess wouldn't have a reason to open the eclipse gate. And even if the princess wanted to open the eclipse gate, she couldn't because she wouldn't have all 12 keys. lets say that Yukino have some of the keys Lucy actually have, she still can't open them, because Leo the Lion would die if Lucy wasn't there. So after all, if you look at it its- No Lucy, no Dragons.
+Erika Škurina The only thing I disagree with is the bit about Princess Hisui not having a reason to open the gate. They were planning to open it originally to go back and defeat Zeref, only the eclipse prevented them from controlling the eclipse gate and resulted in the dragons coming through it. That is the future that future Lucy came from, it is a different future to the one future Rogue is from. Now, obviously there is the issue that Loke would have died so there would not be all 12 keys as you said. However, from memory I don't know that they did need all 12, they had originally planned to only use Lucy's 10 as that would have been sufficient (I could be wrong in this). That though is where the issue of not having enough keys lies. If Lucy didn't join Fairy Tail she would not have collected all the keys she did - Capricorn's key might also be unattainable as he would most likely still be possessed - so who knows where Lucy's keys would have wound up and the possibility of the princess and co obtaining them.

My big question is what if zeref was never alive. 1. There would be no such thing as fairy tail 2. Mavis, Yuri, warden and master haidies would never have gotten powers nor fairy tail 3. I'm not sure but I don't think natsu would be around since he's one of the books of zeref. 4. In the Manga markarov wouldn't of died. 5. In the manga august wouldn't be alive. 6. Jellal wouldn't have built the tower of heaven. 7. In the grand magic games if they didn't open the portal to stop zeref natsu wouldn't have met his uncle. 8. Ur wouldn't have died trying to fight one of zeref books. 9. Fairy tail wouldn't be the greatest guild in all of fiore and the world. So to be honest if zeref wasn't alive loads of things wouldn't have happened. So zeref is not that bad.
Actually Lucy is also one of the reasons natsu gets so powerful in a lot of his battles he goes over the edge especially in the phantom lord battle he was mad and wanted to protect her and others
You had some really good points, but one thing that was nagging me the whole video was that Natsu might not have ever taken the Daybreak job in the first place if Lucy wasn't in the guild. He only took that job because he could ask Lucy to help him, and the only reason he did that was because she was blonde, and Everlue was looking for a blonde maid at that time. Sure, that original plan backfires, but it's what motivated Natsu and Happy to take the job in the first place. They might have taken it anyway, but what I think is more accurate is that team Shadow Gear would have taken the job instead, and because of Levy, they might have discovered the true purpose of Daybreak, causing the same result to happen, but instead with team Shadow Gear. Assuming they were able to beat Everlue, Virgo, and the Vanish Brothers, that is. Why would Shadow Gear take the job? In both the manga and the anime, after Natsu, Lucy, and Happy have already left for the job, we see team Shadow Gear regretting the fact that they hesitated on taking the job. This supports the fact that if Natsu, Lucy, and Happy hadn't taken the job, they would have instead. I feel like I've rambled on about this, but it was just something that was nagging my brain a bit :P Overall, you did a VERY good job interpreting everything in terms of what would be different if Lucy hadn't joined Fairy Tail. Especially the point that Juvia and Gajeel wouldn't have joined the guild because the war between Phantom Lord and Fairy Tail only happened because Lucy's dad wanted her back. Great video! ^^
I'm so glad theirs other people out there who realize how important Lucy is and that she's not really weak like some people say. Yeah she isn't as strong as Natsu, Erza, and Gray but she can also keep her own in a battle. Heck she summoned her sprits all at once when trying to save Loke which is suppose to be impossible. Also think about the Orancion Seis battle. Angel took out both Jura and Ichiya from the inside and she nearly did it to Natsu, but Lucy stopped that from happening to anyone else by defeating her.
Yes, I am not a Lucy fan, but it's not because any of the reasons shown, it's just how Natsu has to save her all the time, and also how many times she's been seen by Natsu or any other guild member nude. Lucy is also very powerful, she has summoned all her spirits at once many times, but somehow she still gets stuck in easily escapable places, so then Natsu has to help her. I know she's DEFINITELY not helpless, but most times the writers make it seem like it.

It's like this. When hiro first wrote fairy tail he wanted lucy to be the main character until he start liking Natsu. And then he decied to make Natsu the main character. Same thing for bleach. Rukia supposed to be the main character until the creator decied to make ichigo the main character
Mirajane did not awaken that form at that moment. What happened was she regain her S-Class power ranking. Due to a past incident involving the apparent death of her younger sister, Lisanna, Mirajane somehow lost much of her Magical ability, her will to fight, and her personality changed drastically. This is proven further in the Edolas Arc where everyone personality is opposite of normal self Earth Land(name of the world in Fairy Tail) Wendy might not have joined Fairy Tail because if Lucy did not join Fairy Tail. Then would Erza be the same person that she was at that moment. Natsu, Gray, and her becoming closer also allow her to lower her guard and let her friend in more. If this never happened she might not have invited Wendy to join. Would the Edolas Arc even happen because the catalyst for it seemed to be three dragonslayer being in Fairy Tail. If Gajeel never join and possibly Wendy never join if Erza is closer to how she was both Lucy. Then Natsu would have remained the only dragonslayer in Fairy Tail. Erza and Gray could have surrived in the Edolas Arc cause while Gajeel might not have been there. If Mystogan got to Natsu maybe he could have done it instead at least saving the two of them Personally I liked Lucy for pretty much day one. Mira's heart and will and even some of her soul shattered when Elfman killed her baby sister. It was only ever an emotional and mental thing. She broke the block and reawaken her true power and true self when she was at risk of watching her only remaining sibling die right infront of her while she watched powerlessly. Unless somebody else tormented Elfman in front of her and then was about to kill him she wouldn't have gotten her true self back.

Here's an end-run scenario, where we go through each of the major scenarios and taking out Lucy, how it would have changed by taking Lucy out of it. Natsu not meeting Lucy means Fake Salamander would never get caught on his smuggling ring. That or if he did interfere (and not get captured/killed on the boat), then he'd be hard pressed to fight on the boat itself and/or return it to port to save the girls. Natsu not bringing Lucy to Fairy Tail would have a greater impact with Macao. Natsu either wouldn't be able to save him or he'd be taken over longer, causing a more serious side effect. Daybreaker is where we agree. Kaby would never receive closure with his father and still feel empty. This has a deeper side effect, no Lucy, no Virgo. Lullaby... Not Magic Council, Guildmaster Meeting. No Lucy, no Virgo, meaning Erza, Natsu, and Gray trapped within the tornado. Even if they got out, they'd be far more exhausted, having spent tremendous amounts of power and stamina to breaking through the Tornado. Natsu either wouldn't defeat Erigor, or be totally exhausted in the attempt and have no power left to actually fight Lullaby. Yes Makarov could easily deal with the situation, as could any other Guildmaster, but having the Guild Members fight showcases their prowess for becoming a team. So most likely they wouldn't be able to learn how to work together, dissolving the team before it could form. Galuna Island would actually be different. No Lucy, Sherry is free to help Lyon by assisting in his defeating Gray, or keeping Natsu occupied, or maybe even Erza. Sherry is a powerful combatant and her addition to any fight against Natsu, Gray, or Erza would make it all the more difficult to win. Even if they win, Erza and Natsu would be further drained and may not have enough power to break through the Moon Drip Shield. Furthermore, the most pressing change is No Lucy, no Saggitarius. Phantom Lord... That's more difficult to say, because while Phantom Lord would eventually have an excuse to attack Fairy Tail, we can't assume they would attack in a similar time frame as when Lucy joined. If they did, they the battle wouldn't be about saving Lucy, it'd be about defeating Phantom Lord. Less Friendship motivation = harder fights. Ultimately... No Lucy, no Saggitarius, Gajeel wins over Natsu. Even if Natsu overpowered Gajeel, he'd have no power left to face Jose, who would eventually defeat Erza and Gray. Even IF Jose let them lived in time for Makarov to recover and defeat Jose, it wouldn't be the same. Natsu, Erza, and Gray would feel defeated, no matter what. No Lucy, possibly Natsu Dead, possibly Erza and Gray dead. It's getting harder and harder to achieve victory. (You're giving a result, but not an in depth look at the timeline created by Lucy's removal from the Guild itself.) Also another side effect is the S-Class ruling. S-Class missions would still only be exclusive to S-Class Wizards. An even further side effect is that even if Gajeel joins, he doesn't have the same spirit as before. Let it be known that Lucy managed to change even Gajeel prior to his joining Fairy Tail. No matter what physical torture Lucy endured, she never broke. Gajeel couldn't break Lucy's Inner Spirit, showing an Inner Strength greater than even Natsu ever had during his actual battle against Gajeel, as it required Lucy's assistance to help Natsu overpower Gajeel. No Lucy, Loke dies, decreasing Morale even further having lost another member of Fairy Tail, and there ain't an alternate outcome either. Loke dies, changing the future even more even if Natsu, Erza, and Gray survived. No Lucy, no Loke, no vacation to trigger a secluded event with the Tower of Heaven. if Jellal wants Erza (assuming Erza's alive at this point), he'd have to create a BS mission to seclude Erza from the guild and even then, Natsu and Gray who might notice her absence would be too late in getting there (regardless of Juvia stalking Gray). Even IF they get there in time, No Lucy, no Loke, no... well... Juvia becomes a Succubus Slave to Vidaldus, leaving them free to mess up Natsu and Gray from saving Erza. Again, the mounting Difficulties because they don't have another person helping out in battles has changed to not having 8+ characters who can help out in a battle (maybe not ALL of Lucy's Spirits, but they are useful in other ways. Without Crux, Lucy wouldn't figure out Loke's connection to Karen in time to save him even if Lucy was apart of Fairy Tail. That's a chilling thought). Even if by some miracle they made through the Tower of Heaven alive, which is nearly impossible at this point, they'd still be half-dead from the attempt and would probably need several days to weeks to be able to recover. Laxus, Battle of Fairy Tail, and the Thunder Palace... There is no scenario that is able to be played out where Fairy Tail survives as of this Arc. Even if Natsu, Gray, and Erza survived up to this point, they couldn't defeat Laxus, all 400 Lacrimas, and the Thunder Legion by themselves. No Lucy, no Celestial Spirits, no Juvia, no Gajeel, no bond between Natsu, Gray, and Erza, no camaraderie between the Guildmates... There is no single scenario that would allow Fairy Tail to survive. Either Laxus becomes Guildmaster, banishing several members and leaving it a fraction of what it was, the Council would come in and force Fairy Tail to Disband, or Magnolia would be destroyed and anyone left alive would ex-communicate any Fairy Tail Member, forcing a disbandment through several members losing their lives. To all Lucy Haters, I'm not saying Lucy is the end all, be all of the show. I'm saying that like Gandalf said about Merry and Pippin being like Two Pebbles that are the start of an Avalanche, Lucy's meeting with Natsu and subsequent joining of Fairy Tail shaped events that allowed everyone to live, grow stronger, grow closer, and have a positive outcome. Lucy is not useless, was never useless, and by her presence alone allowed her to occupy and ultimately defeat someone who would have gone on to cause major trouble for the remaining members of Fairy Tail. Sometimes, all it takes is a single person to change the destinies of several others, and ultimately shape the future into a brighter tomorrow. I know I could have gotten this comment in with my original, but I had only recently (as in the last few months) started thinking about an 'end-run' scenario for Lucy, and other characters that are hated and/or deemed useless by others.

Basically our favorite ships won't sail, or never existed, if Lucy never joined Fairy Tail. NaLu, Gajevy/GaLe, Gruvia..... Lucy saved the world by her future self time travelling, and the Tartaurus Arc where she summoned the Celestial Spirit King or something. Cana would've quit Fairy Tail if it weren't for Lucy to convince her. And many more... I'm not a big fan of her, but I do not hate Lucy. What I really don't like was the Fairy Tail plot revolves around her, and her experiences and adventures in Fairy Tail.

Yup, I knew that they would've all died in several occasions without Lucy there, also I don't know why people don't like Lucy, and why they think that she is the main character, the main character is defiantly Natsu, if you look at almost all the pics that Hiroshima posted you can see that Natsu is in front of them, Natsu always saves them, the openings and endings, the first characters introduced and if you read the manga you would find out. To be honest Lucy is pretty epic like the others in the team, and is not weak, she is actually quite strong or at least gets really strong later on in the series, same with Wendy. To be honest I didn't like Lucy much at the start but started to get attached to ALMOST all the characters after I got to know them, I really don't like ichya, his cheerleaders or to be honest most of blue Pegasus... Well who can blame me!?

He does like nalu ^_^ he admitted that he likes it when the main male and female characters end up together, so our ships do have a chance to sail, and if Lucy dies how will fairy tail end happily, how will nalu happen? Hiro said that because rave master had a sad ending, fairy tail should have a happy ending ^_^ to be honest I am over the moon with that because, like almost every fairy tail lover, I feel like I've got a bond with the characters, so I will be gutted if it had a sad ending.

I think they just don't understand her importance to Fairy Tail and underestimate her to much. They over-criticize her character and compare her to the stronger, or more obvious characters and deem her weak and useless, when in fact, if not for her, they would have died inbonenof the earlier arcs, we wouldn't have our ships, and it would be pointless.
I think people hate her because she's usually the first one to chicken out of things like in episode 50, after being told the mission, Wendy and Lucy are the only ones to (assumingly) jokingly chicken out, BUT, Lucy chickens out first. There's a few more examples.

You wouldn’t even get past Laxus’s “Battle of Fairy Tail”. Because in many scenarios, either the town is destroyed, forcing the council to disband Fairy Tail or Laxus wins and Fairy Tail loses half its members.
Either way, you don’t go past here without it being even worse. I did a “plan to fail” run (from Young Justice Season 1 episode 16: Failsafe) and Battle of Fairy Tail has no good endings, and that’s if you could even get that far.

I think that if Lucy never joined Fairy Tail the guild wouldn't face Phantom Lord and Gajeel and Juvia won't join the guild.Also the GMG lucy wouldn't be called forth to compete and also the Eclipse Gate wouldn't be able to open,as we can tell the gate opens with the power of all 12 celestial gates.They wouldn't be able to open it and the dragon slayers wouldnt be able to fight dragons.Also the guild woudn't have the problem to find the Infinity clock since Lucy 'wasn't' there.Finally,If she wasn't there Loke would have died because of staying in the human world for too long after his previous owner died.

They were planning to open it originally to go back and defeat Zeref, only the eclipse prevented them from controlling the eclipse gate and resulted in the dragons coming through it. That is the future that future Lucy came from, it is a different future to the one future Rogue is from. Now, obviously there is the issue that Loke would have died so there would not be all 12 keys as you said. However, from memory I don't know that they did need all 12, they had originally planned to only use Lucy's 10 as that would have been sufficient (I could be wrong in this). That though is where the issue of not having enough keys lies. If Lucy didn't join Fairy Tail she would not have collected all the keys she did - Capricorn's key might also be unattainable as he would most likely still be possessed - so who knows where Lucy's keys would have wound up and the possibility of the princess and co obtaining them.

Actually Lucy is also one of the reasons natsu gets so powerful in a lot of his battles he goes over the edge especially in the phantom lord battle he was mad and wanted to protect her and others
You had some really good points, but one thing that was nagging me the whole video was that Natsu might not have ever taken the Daybreak job in the first place if Lucy wasn't in the guild. He only took that job because he could ask Lucy to help him, and the only reason he did that was because she was blonde, and Everlue was looking for a blonde maid at that time. Sure, that original plan backfires, but it's what motivated Natsu and Happy to take the job in the first place.
They might have taken it anyway, but what I think is more accurate is that team Shadow Gear would have taken the job instead, and because of Levy, they might have discovered the true purpose of Daybreak, causing the same result to happen, but instead with team Shadow Gear. Assuming they were able to beat Everlue, Virgo, and the Vanish Brothers, that is.
Why would Shadow Gear take the job? In both the manga and the anime, after Natsu, Lucy, and Happy have already left for the job, we see team Shadow Gear regretting the fact that they hesitated on taking the job. This supports the fact that if Natsu, Lucy, and Happy hadn't taken the job, they would have instead.
I feel like I've rambled on about this, but it was just something that was nagging my brain a bit :P
Overall, you did a VERY good job interpreting everything in terms of what would be different if Lucy hadn't joined Fairy Tail. Especially the point that Juvia and Gajeel wouldn't have joined the guild because the war between Phantom Lord and Fairy Tail only happened because Lucy's dad wanted her back.

Yes, I am not a Lucy fan, but it's not because any of the reasons shown, it's just how Natsu has to save her all the time, and also how many times she's been seen by Natsu or any other guild member nude. Lucy is also very powerful, she has summoned all her spirits at once many times, but somehow she still gets stuck in easily escapable places, so then Natsu has to help her. I know she's DEFINITELY not helpless, but most times the writers make it seem like it.

Mirajane did not awaken that form at that moment. What happened was she regain her S-Class power ranking. Due to a past incident involving the apparent death of her younger sister, Lisanna, Mirajane somehow lost much of her Magical ability, her will to fight, and her personality changed drastically. This is proven further in the Edolas Arc where everyone personality is opposite of normal self Earth Land(name of the world in Fairy Tail)
Wendy might not have joined Fairy Tail because if Lucy did not join Fairy Tail. Then would Erza be the same person that she was at that moment. Natsu, Gray, and her becoming closer also allow her to lower her guard and let her friend in more. If this never happened she might not have invited Wendy to join.
Would the Edolas Arc even happen because the catalyst for it seemed to be three dragonslayer being in Fairy Tail. If Gajeel never join and possibly Wendy never join if Erza is closer to how she was both Lucy. Then Natsu would have remained the only dragonslayer in Fairy Tail.
Erza and Gray could have surrived in the Edolas Arc cause while Gajeel might not have been there. If Mystogan got to Natsu maybe he could have done it instead at least saving the two of them

Mira's heart and will and even some of her soul shattered when Elfman killed her baby sister. It was only ever an emotional and mental thing. She broke the block and reawaken her true power and true self when she was at risk of watching her only remaining sibling die right infront of her while she watched powerlessly. Unless somebody else tormented Elfman in front of her and then was about to kill him she wouldn't have gotten her true self back.

Here's an end-run scenario, where we go through each of the major scenarios and taking out Lucy, how it would have changed by taking Lucy out of it.
Natsu not meeting Lucy means Fake Salamander would never get caught on his smuggling ring. That or if he did interfere (and not get captured/killed on the boat), then he'd be hard pressed to fight on the boat itself and/or return it to port to save the girls.
Natsu not bringing Lucy to Fairy Tail would have a greater impact with Macao. Natsu either wouldn't be able to save him or he'd be taken over longer, causing a more serious side effect.
Daybreaker is where we agree. Kaby would never receive closure with his father and still feel empty. This has a deeper side effect, no Lucy, no Virgo.
Lullaby... Not Magic Council, Guildmaster Meeting. No Lucy, no Virgo, meaning Erza, Natsu, and Gray trapped within the tornado. Even if they got out, they'd be far more exhausted, having spent tremendous amounts of power and stamina to breaking through the Tornado. Natsu either wouldn't defeat Erigor, or be totally exhausted in the attempt and have no power left to actually fight Lullaby. Yes Makarov could easily deal with the situation, as could any other Guildmaster, but having the Guild Members fight showcases their prowess for becoming a team. So most likely they wouldn't be able to learn how to work together, dissolving the team before it could form.
Galuna Island would actually be different. No Lucy, Sherry is free to help Lyon by assisting in his defeating Gray, or keeping Natsu occupied, or maybe even Erza. Sherry is a powerful combatant and her addition to any fight against Natsu, Gray, or Erza would make it all the more difficult to win. Even if they win, Erza and Natsu would be further drained and may not have enough power to break through the Moon Drip Shield. Furthermore, the most pressing change is No Lucy, no Saggitarius.
Phantom Lord... That's more difficult to say, because while Phantom Lord would eventually have an excuse to attack Fairy Tail, we can't assume they would attack in a similar time frame as when Lucy joined. If they did, they the battle wouldn't be about saving Lucy, it'd be about defeating Phantom Lord. Less Friendship motivation = harder fights. Ultimately... No Lucy, no Saggitarius, Gajeel wins over Natsu. Even if Natsu overpowered Gajeel, he'd have no power left to face Jose, who would eventually defeat Erza and Gray. Even IF Jose let them lived in time for Makarov to recover and defeat Jose, it wouldn't be the same. Natsu, Erza, and Gray would feel defeated, no matter what. No Lucy, possibly Natsu Dead, possibly Erza and Gray dead. It's getting harder and harder to achieve victory. (You're giving a result, but not an in depth look at the timeline created by Lucy's removal from the Guild itself.) Also another side effect is the S-Class ruling. S-Class missions would still only be exclusive to S-Class Wizards. An even further side effect is that even if Gajeel joins, he doesn't have the same spirit as before. Let it be known that Lucy managed to change even Gajeel prior to his joining Fairy Tail. No matter what physical torture Lucy endured, she never broke. Gajeel couldn't break Lucy's Inner Spirit, showing an Inner Strength greater than even Natsu ever had during his actual battle against Gajeel, as it required Lucy's assistance to help Natsu overpower Gajeel.
No Lucy, Loke dies, decreasing Morale even further having lost another member of Fairy Tail, and there ain't an alternate outcome either. Loke dies, changing the future even more even if Natsu, Erza, and Gray survived.
No Lucy, no Loke, no vacation to trigger a secluded event with the Tower of Heaven. if Jellal wants Erza (assuming Erza's alive at this point), he'd have to create a BS mission to seclude Erza from the guild and even then, Natsu and Gray who might notice her absence would be too late in getting there (regardless of Juvia stalking Gray). Even IF they get there in time, No Lucy, no Loke, no... well... Juvia becomes a Succubus Slave to Vidaldus, leaving them free to mess up Natsu and Gray from saving Erza. Again, the mounting Difficulties because they don't have another person helping out in battles has changed to not having 8+ characters who can help out in a battle (maybe not ALL of Lucy's Spirits, but they are useful in other ways. Without Crux, Lucy wouldn't figure out Loke's connection to Karen in time to save him even if Lucy was apart of Fairy Tail. That's a chilling thought). Even if by some miracle they made through the Tower of Heaven alive, which is nearly impossible at this point, they'd still be half-dead from the attempt and would probably need several days to weeks to be able to recover.
Laxus, Battle of Fairy Tail, and the Thunder Palace... There is no scenario that is able to be played out where Fairy Tail survives as of this Arc. Even if Natsu, Gray, and Erza survived up to this point, they couldn't defeat Laxus, all 400 Lacrimas, and the Thunder Legion by themselves. No Lucy, no Celestial Spirits, no Juvia, no Gajeel, no bond between Natsu, Gray, and Erza, no camaraderie between the Guildmates... There is no single scenario that would allow Fairy Tail to survive. Either Laxus becomes Guildmaster, banishing several members and leaving it a fraction of what it was, the Council would come in and force Fairy Tail to Disband, or Magnolia would be destroyed and anyone left alive would ex-communicate any Fairy Tail Member, forcing a disbandment through several members losing their lives.
To all Lucy Haters, I'm not saying Lucy is the end all, be all of the show. I'm saying that like Gandalf said about Merry and Pippin being like Two Pebbles that are the start of an Avalanche, Lucy's meeting with Natsu and subsequent joining of Fairy Tail shaped events that allowed everyone to live, grow stronger, grow closer, and have a positive outcome. Lucy is not useless, was never useless, and by her presence alone allowed her to occupy and ultimately defeat someone who would have gone on to cause major trouble for the remaining members of Fairy Tail.
Sometimes, all it takes is a single person to change the destinies of several others, and ultimately shape the future into a brighter tomorrow.
I know I could have gotten this comment in with my original, but I had only recently (as in the last few months) started thinking about an 'end-run' scenario for Lucy, and other characters that are hated and/or deemed useless by others.

With out Lucy, Mirajane and Elfman would have never been reunited with Lissana.
Basically our favorite ships won't sail, or never existed, if Lucy never joined Fairy Tail. NaLu, Gajevy/GaLe, Gruvia..... Lucy saved the world by her future self time travelling, and the Tartaurus Arc where she summoned the Celestial Spirit King or something. Cana would've quit Fairy Tail if it weren't for Lucy to convince her. And many more...
I'm not a big fan of her, but I do not hate Lucy. What I really don't like was the Fairy Tail plot revolves around her, and her experiences and adventures in Fairy Tail.
