I remember years ago Campbell's lectures were found on youtube in full, now It's harder to listen to him speak at length, is this something this youtube page can rectify? I don't believe one can listen to 5 minutes of Campbell and walk away with the amount of knowledge he was condensing into speech, we need to savor his words in length, thank you!
I Was Wondering The Same Thing....We Need To See His Full Lectures Being Widely & Easily Available Again....The Full Power Of The Myth Used To Be Available On Netflix Too But Is No Longer Streaming... I Remember I Came Across J. Campbell Work During A Religion Class I Took @ University Kind Of Went Over My Head...But Now Maturing Few Years Later I Have Such A Clear Understanding Now And Feeling Very Much Empowered 🌷😌 SubhanAllah
I own the DVD's of Mythos and The Power of Myth, so I can watch them anytime. They are available, and not so expensive. Worth it to preserve these concepts and the psychology that accompanies them.
You said it. It's a tease just listening to the sound bytes. UA-cam's not what it used to be. I think i have the lectures on vhs somewhere. If i find them I'll try to post
For years I studied mythology, history, and ancient religions. JC brought it all together, his insights were enlightening and inspiring. Joseph is a true Hero.
It’s called “Mythos” it’s on Amazon video for 8 bucks, but it’s old and Campbell is bluntly sexist, antisemitic, and racist in the things he says and the way he built up his ideas
The slide at the beginning is my favorite depiction of Dionysus. Dancing as he tears a fawn in half with his bare hands, a practice the Greeks called sparagmos. It's featured in many Dionysian myths, famously in Euripides' play The Bacchae
@@Knaeben Oh, believe me, I know the symbolic meaning. I think it's the OP who doesn't, focusing instead on the literal aspect of the Dionysian Mysteries.
Ah, Joe - Don’t know what I’d do without you. 🎯
yeah, me neither, thank you
My secret master... my wise father... my magic inspirator...
I’m in a rabbit hole of consciousness and I love it!

You can still get them at length but you have to be very specific.

Nice.

Yeah, tearing apart innocent animals. You're so cool. Are you 12?
@@little.bear344 You have to look at the symbolic meaning, not the literal.
