I just love all of the Mugler inspired looks. They’re so gorgeous and so many pieces fit an ultra feminine villain so well.
I also love Black/Dark/Wicked Lady’s Opium inspired dress. I think red and purple can be a really alluring color combination if the shades match well. Both the source material and the anime give off a sophisticated, but dangerous feel that I really love.

I know! Loved the Thierry Mugler looks as well, they’re my favorite! I just love this very feminine and alluring as you said esthetics 💗
      Thanks for passing by! ✨

I used to watch picture comparisons of Sailor Moon media and the art that inspired it all the way back in the early 2000s and it was so relieving and eye-opening for a young aspiring artist to know that even pros drew inspiration from other artists and did "fanart" and that there's nothing wrong with doing so.

      @alanloyal8986 2 роки тому

A little piece of advice here, don't ever do what this "pro" made back in 90s. I don't get why it's so romantised for this mangaka's case, guess it's because she's very beloved, but what she did was simply wrong. She just went and stole a bunch of designs without any kind of permission or even being open about it (fans were the ones discovering all this info with the passing years, you can bet she never thought that one day so many of her "inspirations" would be exposed) to such a high point that you can't even trust she designed a single outfit for the manga series or the original references are just obscure enough to not be found.
Again if your aspiration is designing, don't do what she did. It takes zero skills and talent to make just carbon copies of already existing outfits. She did what she did and nothing can be done about it, but we need to stop praising this thief behaviour like something inspiring. Absolutely anyone doing nowadays what she did would absolutely being framed as talentless, art thief, cancelled etc. You can get inspired by many things, we all do, but above everything do always your own thing, because what Takeuchi did wasn't a homage but just cheap and classic plagiarism.

This was so interesting! The sailor moon manga definitely had a major influence my aesthetic, so seeing a breakdown of the designs was fascinating.

Great to see so much work and research put into this! Sailor Moon had so much art and fashion behind its designs, though I have to agree that Naoko kinda copied a little too much and I wish she could've put her own spin into things. But I think she wanted the audience to feel like they're viewing her characters in a fashion magazine perhaps?

Thanks so much for your words and sorry for my late reply! ❤️❤️
Agreed! The author seems to be very passionate about fashion, which I get it, those 90s fashion shows were marvelous 💕 and I guess she wanted to shared it within her work, so I see it kind of…as an homage or her being appreciative regarding the “copycats” of the fashion.

@@andreadecastellvi honestly I think it's a clever way to introduce the fashion world to her viewers. The idea of anime characters in fashion magazines and promoting clothing lines is always super innovative! It blends the two worlds together, and maybe that's what Naoko Takeuchi envisioned 😉✌️

What an amazing video! You have so much knowledge and did such extensive research. Also you are just so elegant and graceful while explaining! Hope to see a lot more videos like this and can't wait for part 2. Also I wish there was a book on sailor moon fashion - maybe you should contact Ms. Takeuchi and write it together ;)

You know, I thought about a book too! Considering that Sailor moon’s universe is so rich, so many references and symbolism that deserves a all book, you gave me an idea! ;)
I’m working on the 2nd part so very soon I’ll upload it and more ideas overall for the channel! ✨✨

Princess Kakyuu was also inspired by Mugler couture in 1995. I don't recall who wore it but she was singing into a microphone as well, I believe.

At first I was quite impressed by your pronunciation of italian names but then I heard you say "Penelope Cruz" and "Los Abrazos Rotos" and it sounded sooo pleasant. Are you European? Anyway you speak so beautiful and clear that as a non native English speaker it takes me zero effort to understand everything you say. I've been watching videos and film in English without subtitles for years and although I got to a point where I can understand almost 100% of everything, I have to admit that I have to put at least some extra attention to be able to get every word, specially since so many word can be pronounced in different ways and accents and slangs can make things a little confusing (American Southern is really hard if you aren't paying full attention, hajaha) But the way you talk is almost like listening to my native spanish, kinda like the people you hear in those old audio tapes they used in school for English class.
Your video is also very informative and you teach very meticulously. Are you a teacher or professor? I bet you are.
    Saludos desde Chile! ❤️❤️❤️

Hola!
      Un abrazo!

Surprised she has never been sued. She literally plagiarized some of these dresses. I don't think this is just inspiration but direct copying.
