Mabuhay and welcome to your second country the Philippines. We have lots of Tagalog or Pilipino words that are Spanish words too. Spanish language was part of our curriculum in school nationwide before until it became optional around the 60’s-70’s. The affluent families here in Makati still and Cebu still speak Spanish. Chabacano language in Zamboanga is our closest to the Spanish language.
Mis amigos Latinos son mis primos….(Soy Filipina) Siento muy feliz por Los dos. Mi pais es tu pais mis hermanos. Feel at home ❤❤❤ BTW, Soy Filipina. Disfruto mucho aprendiendo y hablando español.

There are a lot of common traits with Philippines and Venezuela since Ph is heavily influence with Latin Countries...but not only that both love and is crazy with Pageants in fact both rank 1st and 2nd respectively with the no of wins in all four big pageants Organization...and the cake looks delis they should open in SM malls and here in Cebu City im sure they will be a hit since they are the only one selling it...they can go big here in the Philippines 😎
I like latinas Latinos nice topic almost same culture I hope someday u have physical store for your food and taste it for a pilipino.Godbless two of you nice couple and more podcast
welcome to the Philippines guys. But remember that you are in a very loving peaceful and beautiful country that we need to preserve and enjoy.Respect on our culture, adopt on it, whatever baggage that we have in your country must not be brought here like the violence, hatred , the gang cultures, drugs that have right now in many latin countries.
That's what I want to do Ignacio. Spend six months in Pinas and six months in Northern California where I grew up. Maybe we can be on "Dos Gorgos" podcast together. Lol
I am Fil-Canadian living in Toronto, I have so many Latino friends (especially Mexicans, Colombians and Venezuelans). I have visited many countries in Latin America. It's the same feeling for me when I am travelling to Latin America, I get the instant connection and feeling at home. Never been to Venezuela because of the political situation there, but i've been to Colombia twice, where i've met many Venezuelans (and i've met a few families that i've supported during the pandemic). By the way, my last name is Urdaneta (It's a common last name in Venuezuela), they also have famous Urdaneta University in Maricaibo. ;-)
Part of the reason why Filipinos want to learn Spanish is a lot of us dream of living in Europe. There's been an increasing number of our countrymen teaching English in Spain precisely because of this. They know that being able to communicate in Spanish to potential students would make them more effective teachers and it's also a major plus that it only takes 2 years to gain citizenship for people from former Spanish colonies.
That's what will help to raise the country, having tourism. To introduce the culture, the food, the scenery... Visiting Latin America is on my bucket list. You guys should visit my home province Bataan.
Hola señor Andres hola señorita Alicia you both very welcome in my native land Filipinas,Estamos orgullosos de que los latinos también amen a nuestros hermanos y hermanas en el sur de centroamerica .

Yeah ,i think it's the American government influenced the Philippines government to take out spanish subject in college . I can speak little spanish and i feel great about it. I was able to used spanish language when our ship docked in south america.
I remember that too being Removed from mandatory but it can still be taken as a course major if a college offers it. The old Spanish schools like UST and Ateneo de Manila offers it for sure.

huwaaattttttttt!!!!! this is Crazy!!! I'm thinking of moving in Spain. The Latino Accent is Sexy. I agree that opportunities in Philippines is plenty, I've worked 10+ years outside Philippines, now the income I received abroad is now similar w/ my income here in Philippines.
Wow, man, I enjoy watching your interview with this wonderful Venezuelan couple. Nice job, man. I already said this so many times in my past comments that it only makes sense that the Philippines is one of the great countries to live or retire in. There are so many foreigners already living in the Philippines, including Koreans, Americans, Japanese, Europeans, British, and Canadians, to name a few. These foreigners fell in love with the majestic beauty of the Philippines. As we all know, Filipinos are the most friendly, warm, and hospitable people in the world. I also agree with this guess of yours that if a Latino moves to the Philippines, he or she should be prepared not only for their English proficiency but also emotionally and spiritually, and they must be adaptable to the new environment, just as the locals will adapt to foreigners. I also wonder and am puzzling about what your female guess said, that if I am not mistaken about what your female guess said, Venezuela is no longer good in terms of their economy and political situations?. Overall, the content is good, and the guess is great.
Correct! Filipinos are "Latinos" in Asia. And Philippines is a "Home" for Latinos. IMO 👍 I started learning Spanish since in High School till' College about 4 years. Maybe I wasn't speaking Spanish at most back in PI, but now I'm speaking it coz' I live with a lot of Latinos. Even some of our Dialects back home are mixed Bisaya/Spanish. So, to me learning Spanish is moy Facil👍.
Take this route and stay in these place at least one day go via bulacan dtay there one night then pampangga stay there for snother day then pangasinan stay another Day. Then baguio dtay there another day or two, then la union lots of beaches there then vigan🎉🎉🎉
If it is African and Latin American standards of income the Philippines is at par if not ahead so if your questions is can their income here enough to support them the answer is a big YES.
The added bonus of the Philippines is that once your English improves while living there since it's their second language the world is your oyster coz you will now become more emboldened to move to English speaking countries for even better opportunities.
My comment to people from different countries like to move to Philippines we have Rainy Season and Typhoon LIKE the place you the most like Visayas that's the middle of the Philippines Luzon what's in Manila and Mindanaw okay Are you prepared to encounter all that Weather we have oh I forgot lightning and thunder am Pilipino living in California I miss that Weather I use to take a Shower I the rain I never been back home since I left after over 40 years I still miss it ❤❤❤
Nope. The first hurdle is immigration. You can't simply just buy a ticket to go to those countries. Even ex-President Duterte couldn't get a visa to the US before he became our leader.
