Regarding the decals, they are crossed cannons as the crossed rifle insignia didn't appear until after the civil war. Grear Channel by the way. Regards
Thanks for the unboxing - seems you were the first to review these minis! See some s-shaped rifles that needs to be straightened. Will the warlord resin take it or will it simply break? Actually do like these old Forgotten & Glorious miniatures, but I simply don`t go with warlord telling everybody that yanks & rebs looked alike. Would have preferred to see dedicated boxes. Now I am waiting for additions to the range as F&G had some very interesting command minis in their range.
Thankyou. The Resin is flexible and I think with some warm water you might be able to straighten out the rifles. I know warlord have said they’re universal boxes I believe they are in fact dedicated boxes going off how the officer miniatures are in each box. Yes I am interested to see if this range is expanded
Those are US double bag Napsacks with a blanket rolled on top. I think the choice to have them all in frock coats is interesting. I love frock coats. The confederates would have potentially worn them in the early war period. But would have been very rare after that. The Federals could have worn them throughout the war, especially in the east, but were a more rare choice as well. With that said, again I love frock coats and I think these are really nice looking figs. The fact that they are all assembled is a bonus as well. Nice review. 😃
Thanks Scott, I agree it is an odd choice however I also love the look of frock coats so even if they’re a little historically inaccurate for the confederates I’m still happy to use them.
@@KingMATTtheSuperior In fact they released some metal officer packs. 2 versions of mounted staff (4 each) and 4 packs of 2 officers (one mounted) each. When they were announced first I was happy to see these F&G guys in metal again, but when the price tag was on, well, decide for yourself. Luckily a retailer here in Germany had them just on sale for 7€ each. These are quite nice and crisp minis and now, base coat already applied, for my eye they look fully okay next to e.g. Perry miniatures.
@@Forcade23 i must of missed those miniatures being released but I’ve just taken a gander on the WG website and must say the do look like nice sculpts. I plan on picking up a few once ive saved up some pocket money haha 👍
@@KingMATTtheSuperior Indeed, thinking about the already reduced but somehow standard costs for those new packs in Germany, I could have bought one of the mounted command packs + the big Perry box for the same amount I just paid for 6 the warlord blisters...that is simply ridiculous, isn`t it? I am driven towards printing by force... ;-)
Perry is to napoleonics and acw what warlord is to ww2. I think going into 28mm acw was a mistake on warlord's part, just because perry has pretty much everything you could need.
Very true but like any other ACW range out there it’s great to have another range as an option for collectors. Perrys are great quality and great value but if you’re like me you want something different from the Perry plastics range.
@briansmaller7443 I’ve heard they did have a nice range so I’m hoping Warlord Games expand on what they’ve released so far assuming they have access to the rest of the sculpts.
@@KingMATTtheSuperior They had a whole range in greatcoats that was very cool. I want to do the Irish Brigade at Fredricksberg and they are perfect for that.
@briansmaller7443 great coat infantry look great. I’ve been eyeing up some from raven banner games but if WG end up releasing some I’ll be grabbing a box of them aswell
Well you are lucky to get a replacement on that broken figure - obviously you bought directly from Warlord because if you didnt they will not replace anything even when its obviously a miscart spru or figure. I found that out with a miscast epic sprue some time ago that I didnt buy direct. Point blanky refused to replace it. So nope - interesting looking and their artillary are comparable value to Perry but no thanks.
Yes warlord games have dispatched a replacement miniature to replaced the miscast one. Yes the artillery is similar to Perrys although it’s worth mentioning the warlord artillery does not come with limbers.
WG replaced all the broken stuff (which was quite a lot!) without delay despite the fact that I bought their sets from a retailer. They obviously knew that quite a number of boxes with damaged material had been sold already.
@@Forcade23 that wasnt my experience and I sent them a picture of the spru - so obviously a miscast. Wish I could post a picture here to show you - still have it.
@@Volgan16666 Not good! I also provided some pics. As I said, there were quite a lot of damaged pieces from one advancing and one artillery box only, but they sent replacements immediately. That is a fair gesture as it was absolutely obvious that a lot went wrong on their side. The retailer I bought from later told me that they checked the unsold stuff based on my complaint and sent back the majority of boxes. Would be good to know If these quality issues still persist.
This review has saved me a lot of money; I'm sticking with the Perry's. Better poses and far crisper
Glad this video helped :) this set won’t be for everyone
Thanks for sharing your uniform knowledge about the officers. Very useful to know.
Glad I could help 👍
Nice and complete unboxing. Enjoying your ACW stuff bud.
Thankyou!

im a big fan of the sculpts, i think the only problem is the repetition in officers / more important models
I hope GW release some officer blister packs in the near future just to compliment the current infantry box sets
@@KingMATTtheSuperior i hope so too

A great review mate, again they look better quality than the Napoleonic peninsula sets they produced
Yeah I like this box set over the advancing Infantry box set
I’m with you on this one Matt . I prefer the Union figures myself they are both very cool though
Thanks Todd, both nice sets but this is my preferred one 👍

I like these but at that price I think I would get metals.
