Did anyone else audibly laugh when he described the garage as a "total disaster" and then showed that it's 95% empty? My man, you have no idea what a disaster garage looks like.
@@AstroBackyard You are so amazing, I’ve invested a good part of my life watching you, I enjoy everything you put out. Your work is flawless and I wish you and your family nothing but the best. You deserve it.
The AM5 was life changing for me. I’ll probably post something on FB but I’ve not had such an amazing experience to date with anything else. ZWO just earned a lifetime happy customer.
Dear god. I'm glad I ordered my AM5 before Trevor's video. This thing is going to be sold out for the next 2 years now. lol. Thank you, Trevor. You got me into this hobby, and I love it so much.
Beste Trevor, heel veel plezier met je nieuwe onderkomen. Ook voor je vrouw en hond. Veel heldere nachten gewenst! Hartelijke groet, Ray Dear Trevor, very much enjoy your new home. Also to your wife and dog. Many clear nights to you! Best regards, Ray
Hey Trevor I just wanna thank you for getting me into astrophotography, it’s so calming and relaxing I love it so much, I’ve literally rewatched every video. I hope you have an amazing day and clear skies ❤️
7:30 funny. just from this pan, it's so clear how much farther north you are from me. At dusk, my big dipper is still way closer to the horizon. stellar (pun intended) video as always man. Cheers and clear skies
I just got the AM5N and really love it once I got the guide settings down for shooting with my Edge HD8 both at F2 HyperStar and F7 with an Askar OAG and 174MM Mini. Far lighter than my old AVX mount. Great video and good luck in the new digs.
I love the garage door that leads to your back yard. I have been wanting to install one in my garage. I live 8 miles north of the university of Norte Dame but I'm in Michigan. Clear skies.
Trevor, congrats to you and Ashley (and Rudy!) on your new digs. I sincerely hope it treats you all well. So I noticed a tower on the right side of your property (from rear). Buddy up! Might be a nice home for your all sky camera!! Best of luck sir!!
Hi Trevor. I had the same issue with my new HEQ5 Pro mount with both pro and plus without going to home after each target. Now I make sure I go to home after every target and when it is finished. Thanks for the new video. Clear Skies!
Trevor I want to thank you for getting me into this hobby. It's been difficult learning these past two months, but with the help of an amazing community and lots of online resources, you included, I have come so far. Still far from an expert and hope to upgrade from my unmodded DSLR to an asi183mc soon. Anyways thanks for the great content as always
He did the same for me 2 years ago. It would be interesting to see just how many people Trevor has brought in and taught the basics to. I will bet that number is pretty high.
@@barrymak421 I agree. When I started watching him I only had a small 4 in reflector and had no idea about any types of equipment or what I would need for astrophotography. It really sparked my interest and his recommendation for beginners of a small refractor and eq mount was the best start I could get. I used to just watch his videos for entertainment, but now I understand them so much more in depth, including the equipment and processing. The astrophotography community on Reddit has also been one of the biggest helps to me. I live a state over from PA so I'm hoping I can meet Trevor at the next cherry springs star party if I'm able to make it
@@jcarroll276 Nice! It would be really cool to meet him in person. When I was first looking to start, I had my eye on an 8 inch newt astrograph shooting something stupid like f4.5... Knowing what I know now I am so so so thankful that I watched this channel before pulling the trigger. The frustration level probably would have knocked me out of the hobby. Now I'm using the sharpstar 61, basically a Raptor knock off (sorry Trevor I didnt have the extra money at the time) and find myself constantly checking cloud forecasts to try to get out every chance I can. What's your name on Reddit? I would love to look at some of your stuff.
Welcome back Trevor, Looks like your nice and settled in the new home. Great review on the ZWO mount btw which I am considering. Keep up the great work. Perry
Hi Trevor and Ashley, love the new property and especially the house and garage, it looks fantastic place, I hope you both and Rudy will be very happy there. Welcome back to making Astrobackyard reviews again, looking forward to watching all the new videos. ZWO AM5 looks interesting, but the price is high. Best regards from Wales UK 🇬🇧 👌.
Good to see the new tech and progress being made. Also, there's something to be said about staying small and light weight. After 40 years in the hobby I have worked my way up to a Paramount MX+ which I absolutely love and adore and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Combined with Software Bisque's "The Sky Pro" there's nothing I can't do in visual or imaging, it's simply a wonder machine. However, it's big and still relatively heavy and now that I'm in my 60's it's work to set it up. The three counter weights alone are enough to break a sweat. Small is definitely better if you want to spend your time observing or shooting instead of planning and executing "set up and tear down". And an 11 inch SCT or RASA are beasts to handle and you have to balance them... more time and effort. If something goes wrong (clouds roll in) then it's a lot of time and effort converted into frustration. Nothing like a small complete set up you can carry out to the back yard, plug in and go. Ten minutes up/down vs. an 1.5 hours is awesome. Very interesting that the software is now on a phone. Good to see examples of the latest equipment in a beginner/intermediate friendly format. Keep up the nice work.
Congratulations and good luck in your new home. Hope you, Ashley, and Rudy have many wonderful years there! Thank you for what you do and please keep up the good work! Ed Forrest, Hyde Park, NY
Beautiful image! The new backyard is going to work out really well! I love seeing Rudy in the background running back and forth! Hehe! Looking forward to the next one!
I think maybe you’ve hit your stride, Trevor. Love that new place, especially the natural area in the back. Congrats on the new pad. Looks like you’ve got room to grow inside and outside. Thanks for the astro-inspiration and the honest reviews. Outstanding image, too. Love the details.
Really love your channel! I've been away from astrophotography for quite a while. Got out when CCD cams were just coming into fashion. You do an excellent job in helping me come up to speed with equipment and techniques that are current. Thanks for sharing your work and passion.
Wow. Exciting times ahead. All that space available to you too. Looking forward to chapter 3 of your journey. Loved the old school trance at the end. 👍
I just nabbed a Takahashi TSA120, I got the reducer coming and a starizona . 63 reducer coming for my C8... the asteo arsenal is expanding. Awesome new property and awesome image!
Wow what a beautiful house! And did you get darker skies too! Thats fabulous. Thanks for everything Trevor. I just got back from Yates Texas right on the Llano River and while I did have some trouble for the first two nights, things were better the last night. You see I'm an old guy that's lugging around an Orion HDX110 mount with a 10" Newtonian astrograph and a William Optics Zenithstar 61mm on it! It's really too much but I did manage some great shots of M 31 the second night and the third night I got in order ,the Cats Paw Nebula, The Snake Nebula, The Cygnus Loop and a few frames of the Heart and Soul Nebulae. I didn't have time for dark frames and all I had was my Canon 800D but the data is so clean under Bortle 2 skies where I was. Got to do some swimming too and brought home a nasty sunburn to prove it. Keep up the great work and I hope to be on UA-cam with you soon and share my astronomy variety show. I figure that's better for me because cats like you, Nico Carver and Dylan O Donald have the how to covered very well. As far as my astrophotography goes it would be how not to do it at this point. I'm 56 and was so inspired by Carl Sagan growing up, I think I'd love to explain the cosmos similarly to how he did. So passionately and artistically. Clear skies to you brother and continue the good fight. Sincerely, Carl Holloway.
Great video! I just received my AM5 a week ago, but too cloudy and rainy- and will be for the next week. No whining about heat (that’s my department!). I can’t remember the last time it’s been below 90/70’s (temp/dew point). Looking forward to more updates on the AM5!
Great video Trevor, and awesome image! The new house looks very nice, and that garage has SO MUCH POTENTIAL! Happy to see Rudy is really enjoying the new digs also!
Good to have you in new location. We here in India are stuck with the annual monsoon season will last until October for us to start astrophotography again.
Congratulations on new home, so glad your able to get back to your passion! Love your videos. Most of your information is above me, but you are an amazing at teaching.

I'm glad you're loving the AM5, especially the guiding! I was hesitant on the idea of this style of mount, mostly because I was unfamiliar with its gearing system. Also, SUUUPER jealous of that garage!
