The people that didn't get the 8♣ counted wrong. It is imposable not to get the 8♣.
The 7♠ 4♣ 2♠ 2♣ and 3♥ are all the same. They bring you to the 9♣ in the second row. And the A♥ and 10♦ bring you to the 9♠. There is only two paths to take in the first four rows. In the fifth row, the two paths meet at the 6♣. No matter what card you pick there is only one outcome, which is the 8♣ at the end.

This is a great trick. It had me stumped for a while! But I eventually got the idea of the different tracks coming together. One way to put it is, for two starting cards to end on two different cards, they have to have two different tracks all the way down the deck (each one including probably about 9) cards that share NO card whatsoever. So certainly most, if not all, of the first few cards will have the same ending point.
This is the greatest kind of trick. So simple, but seems so impossible until you realize what's going on.

seems like a better trick to do for a group of people, so if you have one person get off the groove, you can just say they probably made a mistake with their counting somewhere, then quickly reshuffle and offer for them to try again. So long as at least one person in your group ended up on the same groove you do, you can work with them mostly.

This is more of a counting test. If you didn't get 8 of clubs, you are a bad counter, or a bad directions follower.

"Now you see me" was probably my favorite magic/illusionist movie, but sadly i haven't seen many other ones.... still a great movie.

+scamschool, knew someone who had a relative that worked from a studio. She explained the reason why movies with similar plots from different studios are released about the same time. Some poor guy writes a decent script and manages to get it to some studio executives. Rather than buying that movie/script, they harvest the plot and pass it on to their studio writers. Thus some underlying theme is present in two movies, but the movies aren't quite the same.
You could use a normal six-sided die to determine the value of the face cards and joker, to add a little randomness to the effect while keeping the values pretty low.
Now You See Me, recet movie, brilliantly done, well worth a watch
It depends on where you start. If you start with the 7 you get the 10 of spades. If you start with the first 2 you get the 6 of spades...
If you listened correctly or listened at all he says it doesn't always work and the odds are heavily stacked in your favor. 5:42

I dealt out my own deck and did it as he was explaining it, and I ended on the 8 of clubs too.
To anyone that didn't get it, you should either go back to school and learn counting, or do it again. No matter what card you choose you will land on 6 of clubs in the biddle of the game, and continuing get to the 8 of clubs. Went through every of cards you can choose and got to 8 of clubs. BTW you might be counting wrong, ace = 1 and Jack, queen, king = 5, joker = 1

The Prestige all the way. But mainly for Ricky Jay. That man is a god. Even in small roles he adds an amazing flair to the character, like Eddie in Deadwood. (also probably on netflix so they should buy me a beer)

Woot! James Grime is awesome, and I looked up that paper and it's very interesting :) . The trick didn't work for me... but that's because I forgot jokers were 1 and used 5 for it instead >_< Oh, well.
So question: if you're performing this for only one person, and you end up in the 14% chance where it doesn't work, how do you recover?

2nd and third card, 7 and 10, keep changing places based on perspective of camera,
if i choose 3rd card to be 7 based on 2:22 trick will work,
but if i choose 3rd card to be 10 based on 1:02 trick doesn't work
