God damn it Brian, you're truly a wizard! I was looking for this trick recently and couldn't find the episode it came from, appreciate you making my life easier!
You have quickly risen to my favorite magician in the last 2 years of discovering this channel. Although not only magician, I should say entertainer. thank you!
Brushwood I know you love to hear failures so I got a great one for you. I use the key card principle in a version kinda similar to your first video. I have them spell out information I want from them to get a report going and count cards out accordingly. "what town are your from? oh Akron A-K-R-O-N" and just keep doing that. I have them cut the cards a few times so it all seems up and up. One night using that trick TWICE at two different places for two different sets of people I didn't check and the key card was the bottom card on the deck. I had to pull a crappy adlib the first time and made a slightly better version of my adlib the second time. I couldn't believe the rotten luck. By being silly and comedic I pulled it off but it ruined the whole pacing and they were more relieved to have the trick over with. And had I just checked the damn bottom card I could have pulled off an AMAZING trick that would have been mindblowing. Now I always check the bottom card and it hasn't happened again since.
I do a variation of this where when I switch decks I draw it out more by shuffling again. (making it seem more fair) I like to end the shuffling with a riffle shuffle making it easier to see the bottom card, then switch back to cut and choose the card. Then we switch once more for the reveal.
There's one thing I don't get. I get the trick and how to perform it. But I don't understand how you managed to get the same card in this situation. If you take a look at 1:12 Brian cuts his deck in half, takes the top card of the half deck in his hands and places it on top of the half deck on the table. So when he places the half deck from his hands onto the half deck on the table, the card that was originally on the bottom of the full deck, will be just above the chosen card. But the other guy does not do this. He cuts the deck in half, looks at the card he cut to, then places it on top of the half deck in his hands and then he puts that half deck on top of the half deck on the table, thus leaving the card he cut to on top of the entire deck.. Edit* In other words, the other guy does not do what Brian tells him to. When Brian reveals the trick, he does do it right though.
You'll need to watch again SPOILER................................ They swap decks The other guy picks a card from Brian's deck and places the stack with the key card on top of it The card Brian picks from the other guys deck is irrelevant They swap decks The other guy removes from his deck the same value card he originally picked from Brian's deck Brian removes the card beneath the key card which is the actual card the other guy originally picked from his deck They match Beer is drunk, songs are sung, etc.
BS. We all know you're actually using real magic, all these 'explanations' are only a cover up so people don't find out you're a real wizard. I'm onto you Brian.
Why else would his hair be like that. Notice how he's had to start learning actual magic recently, and the spikes have faded. That's cos he hasn't been struck for ages! His powers have waned!
Nathan H I think we've been referring to the probability of 2 people picking the same specific card card. Wouldn't that be 1/52 * 1/52? Actually, it would be 1/54 * 1/54, because they never took the jokers out (and we are assuming the jokers are 2 different cards - one co;ored, one black and white)
How does the other person seem to pick the same card? You know to look for the card after the card on the bottom, the other person doesn't. So the other dude's choices in the cards (to try and pick your card) was staged because it would be a 1 in 52 chance to pick it.
Because the other person is picking the card they originally pick. Brian is not picking his card, he is taking the next card that was on the bottom of the deck before the last cut.
grlmgor that card that is after the the bottom card is the other dude's card because that's where his cut took him. I'm talking about when they both went through the decks and Brian looked for the 'key card', the other dude was blindly going through the deck picking one at random.
It actually costs us views. the UA-cam aglorithm punishes this sort of thing. Buuuuuut, there's a big back catalog of 15-minute episodes that can be effectively explained in 3 minutes, so we take the hit.
Interesting. Yeah, I know UA-cam only seems to care about watch time and short lived viral videos so I can see how shorter versions aren't that great in terms of profits. It's a shame that not many more people will see the full length versions on account of how videos are recommended nowadays. Apparently after a couple days UA-cam thinks a video is no longer relevant to anyone. Although, the only information I have on this is literally just the videos I'm recommended.

This was my number 1 all time favorite OG episode of scam school
Favorite trick, baffled the whole family, my brother even made me shuffle an extra time just to prove to him it was magic ;)
You have quickly risen to my favorite magician in the last 2 years of discovering this channel. Although not only magician, I should say entertainer. thank you!

awesome @brain 😎😎😎😎
Hi Brian been a sub for about 2 years now and I was wondering if you ever plan on coming to the uk
The key card principle may be simple and diabolical, but it's not fair (at least to the audience). Still love it, though!
SMBrwnie Does a scam need to be fair? lol
Dam this is an old video lol I keep up the good work Bryan
That is a great trick
Sir you are the boss
Why, thank you.

BS. We all know you're actually using real magic, all these 'explanations' are only a cover up so people don't find out you're a real wizard.
I'm onto you Brian.
It's what happens when you get struck by radioactive lightning
andymcl92 yeah but only if you get struck as many times as he has
Why else would his hair be like that. Notice how he's had to start learning actual magic recently, and the spikes have faded. That's cos he hasn't been struck for ages! His powers have waned!
What makes it even more reassuring that he just wants to keep quiet about it
That is real stupid
1:12 he's putting the card on the top of the deck, you're putting it in the middle, how does that add up to the results?
i lnow this trick and it is a pretty good one
I miss the spikes
U The Best

How if you had key card in your card. How Can you find his card Someone who Can explain me please????
how are you finding the key card? he never shows you the bottom of the deck
He looked at the key card, then they swapped decks. It's around 2:30.
great video!!! :) (ehm ... first i guess...)
Could you maybe put subtitels in your videos so the whole World can get scammed (and if you're deaf you can read instead)
There are auto-generated ones for the Remixes.
I miss spiky hair Brian.
your hair is deserted
i know this trick i read it in a book
In fact, the probability isn't that high, about 1/7 .
How'd you figure that?
It is the aniversary paradox. There is a scam school on it, check it out :)
I think its more like 1/2704
1/52 chance Brian picks a card.
1/52 chance the mark picks a card
1/2704 chance they both pick the same card.
No he is right it multiplies when the action is repeated
Nathan H I think we've been referring to the probability of 2 people picking the same specific card card.
Wouldn't that be 1/52 * 1/52?
Actually, it would be 1/54 * 1/54, because they never took the jokers out (and we are assuming the jokers are 2 different cards - one co;ored, one black and white)
I live right next to Bicycle card company
Wait, as in the company Bicycle???
2ManyTekkers yes
nice trick but I don't understand how we can have the same card ..?
Rewatch the video.
the guy you do the trick on picks his card but brian picks the card under the one he was when he droped it

No Brian ask the person to find the same card they picked with a different deck.

Must be nice to be able to recycle old videos. Very clever way to get more views without having to shoot that much more.
