As all his fans painfully know, Colin was tragically taken from us on 26 January 2016. But he left a legacy with such a huge back catalogue of great songs, recorded performances & memories; he was a master of the #LoveSong - whether a high energy rouser or the slowest of #ballads; he had his trademark voice - often described as "silky smooth" or #VelvetVoice; and he was such a lovely bloke who never strayed too far from his roots, just his record companies' demands. Colin never had the wider appreciation & commercial success his talent deserved, but his many dedicated fans know he is a truly great #SingerSongwriter, one of the very best of his (& our) generation. As an #InMemorian #InMemory tribute, I have been pulling together some of Colin's favourites & the fans' - your - favourites, and posting them via #Twitter using the following hashtags: #ColinVearncombe (that unusual name he thought was a cross to bear, now an advantage!) #Black #JustMakingMemories It would be great if you shared your very favourite tracks & videos as part of the tribute. On the #anniversary of his death (26/1/2016) & the anniversary of his beautiful #MemorialService at the #Liverpool Anglican Cathedral (19/2/2016), it would be a fitting tribute for us to share these two videos on your social media: #BlackIsTheColourOfHope (dedicated to Colin by Chris McDonald & Rod Da Rosa) ua-cam.com/video/_f0Lv8jmnI4/v-deo.html #WonderfulLife (the song he fell in & out of love with but was proud of at the end) ua-cam.com/video/TVD9lo2FLLc/v-deo.html As in the song sung so beautifully at Colin's Memorial Service by Chris & Rod: "I just felt so cheated you were taken too soon...tonight a thousand voices will be crying out for you...because you made Black the colour of hope...you keep playing on for us, so we'll keep playing on for you".
Black.cantor que gosto muito.. principalmente pela música wonderful life...que pena que deus o recolheu tão cedo..mas a sua música sempre estará na minha vida e no meu coração.!!!valeu Colin.....eu sou wilson
He looks so different from his younger days when he sang this. I 'm always playing this as it resonates with me in a dark period of my life. Dark and haunting it maybe but so melodic and comforting
And I think, he looks here too much different from his younger days in general. I see two comletely different people, who don't even look like each other. Also the creativity of his different periods of life is very different.
My absolute favourite Black/Colin Vearncombe song. It's incredible in each version I know of.
Thanks for your amazing music. We miss you so much, Colin!
I just bloody love this rendition. God bless you and rest in peace.
