KI was the only other game that rivaled MK in my opinion. I was never really got into Street Fighter 2 like that. However, why KI never took off as a franchise is beyond me
Both have their cons and pros, but the original Arcade is better in the long run despite a few things here and there (Orchid doesn't have a proper Ultimate combo in the Arcade, but on N64 she has one and some endings are different like TJ. Combo's for example), I don't have a prefered version, I just play both and don't (really) mind the differences (also, the Arcade version is a little bit harder for the obvious logic of attempting to take the player's credits).

People moved on to Tekken and Soul Edge/Calibur
Gold has one of the best endurance modes in fighting game history, so the clear winner here is definitely gold
Ki 2s crispier both sick as fuck, I've got ki gold on n64, and ki 2 on Xbox both mean but gotta give it to ki 2, chur.
