We talked shop about my guitar and other guitars I've had then he asked me to sit next to him so he could play my guitar for a while, especially since it was one he's played a few times before and already liked playing. I miss him already lol. I'll see him again in September but it feels so far away lol.
Passengers don't realize they're walking past a guitar legend, but you did! Great moment. This video also shows what a great person Tommy is and plays a song (American tune - Paul Simon / Art Garfunkel) that fits the setting. What a great inspirator.

Yes absolutely! And this time around I didn't feel like a fan anymore. He immediately made me feel like an old friend and someone he enjoys being around. It was the best vacation ever!!

Met him in Gatineau Canada and yes, very nice guy, what you see is what you get, on and off stage. I continue my guitar journey a the late age of 60, but he inspires me to keep going every day.

Thanks so much for posting. I love it when he plays his Martin. Mine is the same OOO15 but SM. It just seems the all mahogany gives a warm balanced tone. That is why I cherish mine. I’ve only seen Tommy once in San Diego maybe 5 years ago but it was so good.
This was my Martin actually. He's played it a few times and asked if he could play it for a bit after we hung out and talked shop for a bit before boarding started. My guitar is a Martin OMC 15me

🙂 Wonder where this was? Please forgive- beautiful song, what was it? Reminds me of one of my stellar moments. I had some time waiting for a flight so went to the airport greasy spoon for breakfast. As I waited I broke out my guitar and played a few tunes. Had a great breakfast. Time to go catch my next flight. As I stopped to pay they told me at the register, "don't worry about it - it's on us." God bless 'em. They liked my tunes and let me go. On my way home.

Well maybe you'll run into him at a guitar store or something. It happens! You could always come to one of his camps too! They're a bit expensive (at least $2500 US) but everything is included and they really pack in a ton of stuff so I always feel like it's completely worth it. I'm about to sign up for my 6th camp and I'm super excited about it and looking forward to seeing not only Tommy but all the other friends I've made too!
@@mrssriplo1 I am sure it's completely worthy, but I live in Italy and it would be too expensive for me,..so I just go to see him play anytime he plays here.two years ago I also flew to Brighton,England,just to see him.(and in the Theatre ,two rows behind me sat..Eric Clapton) I approached and talked to Tommy several time,and always found him very kind and gentle,and until now,I totally saw him 10 times

Yeah seemed like the only ones who knew were those of us who were with him at his camp and were established fans/friends. It was kinda nice in a way though because it meant we could have a normal friendly chat with him without interruption. At the same time though I do hope the few that could hear him playing my guitar tried to figure out who he was afterwards.
What a lucky lot of dudes at the airport,!! to see the master himself, and to get a free concert. I hope the airport staff, and especially the bag handlers treat the master Tommy with due respect. I remember him saying long time ago about handling of his precious cargo- Absolute Morons!!!
