The thing is TDS is pretty ez game to win so players just are finding ways to win games the fastest, the commander rework just makes the games slower. So what people think right now is that its gonna pain to grind now. Instead of the accomplishment being the you won a match, the accomplishment in TDS is winning the game fastest for grinding.
Tds players either want one of these 2 options 1. A very Op buff 2. A very op tower If its a Nerf of a great tower, They start to make me believe they need a psychiatrist IMMEDIATELY.
The only problem i have with this is that the new ability costs 3 thousand just for something that seems like something out of the military base. I just feel like you dont get that much out for the 3k you spent for it, plus the additional money to max the commander out. I understand it isnt meant to be the strongest but i just personally think it is alittle underwhelming for what you spend for it. The dps on it isnt that bad but its just the fact that one ability can probably take out a slow boss (maybe not even), which does makes some sense as it comes from a support tower but i still think the cost is too much for what you do. Even if it is decreased by 250 cash it would feel more useful. Tdlr for those who dont want to read what i said: i feel like the new ability is alittle weak for what you spend.
It's a good thing I had my expectations low for the Commander rework since it was already a good tower. Some changes that could be made it to reduce the price of the ability from $3,000 to $2,000 since it's not strong late-game. A bit more range at max level would be good. Everything else is fine.
Bro this actually helps my chaining since it takes me a couple seconds to realize it ran out so the couple seconds is pretty helpful for people like me to chain also the apcs are not mid people are just so used to commander+accel equals win but now its commander+money+accel+little bit of skill equals win and its only a freaking 5% firerate out of the original 55% buff gone and a little range nerf that can easily be fixed by would you believe it DJ and in my opinion commander is better than its old counterpart

But its dps is still worse than most other towers and you can just use ranger and accelerator to hit all enemies in existence.. they have a combined 300+ dps

Like personally I like the update (the only part I hate is the fact that not all the skins got a rework I may understand why not all viechles on the ability got reworked) Like the stats are reasonable, I’ve made a promise to do as much as I can without strats and all I have left to beat is hardcore. I like seeing commander during call of arms him shooting as to do some final support damage to push through the hoard. The costs are (basically) reasonable, and the ability I day maybe the gun vehicles need a small damage and hp buff but that’s my opinion. Overall I enjoy it… THOUGH PLEASE ATLEAST UPDATE THE REST OF THE SKINS-
They just announced that its getting a buff and now you can chain again, its cheaper and you can place 1 more (4 tot) so its gonna be good again now also now you can have 12 apcs instead of 9

Commander might have looked outdated, but it was not as severe. And honestly, the thing I miss now the most is john's old voice lines. I cant, these old muffled phrases were too classic so it is my only complain for now. So you may call me the wimpy kid that Just wants the old Commander back, sure, you can call me one, but again, 1 - I always use dj and 2 - I guess this is even for the better for me, since less people will shout "comm > dj", there were quite a lot of people that couldnt understand why I am using Just the dj
It WAS necessary. While I'm with you on the "dj > comm" I still knew the power of Commander. On most tower defense games anything that can boost a tower's damage is going to be powerful and Commander was 100% in the meta because. It was fairly cheap It had ungodly good buffs And the ability cooldown basically meant NOTHING Those made Commander busted as you could easily get a ton of towers in his range and watch your mini army shred anything Oh and the voiceline thing uhhhhhh they probably would've replaced it anyways since John doesn't do anything for TDS anymore and has called them "Copycats" multiple times

However the reason why Commander probably got this rework was something I call "The Beebo Situation" (named after the Nerf of Beebo in Tower Heroes) where almost every loadout of a specific type of player (new players, experienced players, expert players, and so on) is either the exact same or very similar, in order to remove this same loadout syndrome you nerf (or in this case rework) one of the main parts of it, in this case the Commander. Also unlike towers like Minigunner, Commander can't have powercreep too put him in check since he's the only "offensive" support tower (merc base is summoner first and support tower 2nd, and DJ is more defensive in my opinion)

I think the reason people hate the update is because of HC. Commander is one of the necessary needed in HC by making it more expensive, less range and delayed Coa well as you know Commander is really dependant on HC even on Earlier lvls and early waves and you can't use consumables on HC (unless)
I honestly agree with Winterz here, I really do not care about Commander's rework. Yes, his firerate buff is now a little less, but he's still good. Plus, he has FUCKING APCS NOW!!!
for me personally i dont mind the rework, its fine. But why would you not update the plushie skin for the commander?. Its a 40+ euro/dollar skin (they didnt change the cars,they changed nothing)

And the fun thing is that it was originally commander from Tower Battles, and up for today it is able to be chained, giving 75% fire rate buff, 25% range buff and also with vehicle summon and air strike ability. And that’s pretty balanced because unless you have op towers u won’t be able to buff towers efficiently, so it’s not like a p2w tower. On the other hand tds devs made this game too easy and reliable on consumables rather than just one-purchase tower so we will have to grind more. So yeah say out that loud - commander rework is basically a nerf
I really cannot Express how dumb it is to cry over a commander rework because it hss 5% less firerate buff, literally that is pratically nothing and it only makes a tiny difference when you use the abillity on alot of high dps towers like g mini and accel

they mightve nerfed the firerate a little but why is like no one talking about how fucking good the apcs are if spammed. a gunner apc has 50 dps, and the missle apc has burst of 4 in 2 sec. if u use ablitity all at once thats like around 400 dps not including the health of it.

I have just one problem with this update is that commander range is decreased. Which makes it harder to do stuff And The fact that they gave every detection to commander is a little insane. Like common, the tower dose just sits their until you activate an ability. Which the fact they increased the cooldown is worse. It does a good amount of Damage. But only after like 2 rounds worth. And lastly, the 2nd ability is great. But with draw backs that kinda bring it down. First of all, you need to have 3000 on you to activate the ability. The second is that you need to get max commander to activate it, which by time you get it. It will be mid-late, the cars are powerful, but they don’t stop. So depending on the map. They will die faster than you can respawn them, but other maps are better because you can respawn them faster than they die. I say that they changed commander, but it feels like a nerf, But not as bad as the community says. I just say. Increase its range. That’s it, 3 rework commander towers can’t even have the radius as of old commander, which is annoying on certain maps.

by nerfing the firerate by a tiny bit you mean making the early lvls unusable, the apc if useless in most situations, and if you have only 1 commander its really hard to use the abbility properly
IMO APCs are trash. Way too expensive since they’re more needed mid game but you can only really afford them late game. Personally I think they need a cost decrease or a buff.

To be honest I don't get why they buffed the damage. It's literally a support tower so why buff the damage if it's not a DPS tower?? Honestly, I think the Commander is a low A-tier. The APCs are kinda decent, but not really that reliable. Also, the fact that you have to rely on a (potentially) random teammate to get the perfect chain is pretty annoying. (R.I.P to the Lucille strategy 😔)
Ok, here's what i have to say: it feels more like a huge nerf. First, the ability got ruined too far, 40 second cooldown and in early levels it just isn't good, and the fact that you can place only 3 down and it's range got decreased by a lot. Second how are you saying that the ability is broken? 1 tank and all nine of those apc's are gone, and it costs money to get them, so it's only good for mid game due to it being a max lvl thing, and now every strat that does include commander just got basicly deleted, making all those really useful and effective hc strats just go, and they did all of that just for extra dps, who uses support towers for their dps? Third, the chaining that the old had wasn't complete game breaking, you could still lose easily without a good defence, even with a good defence, you could get overwelmed in gamemodes like badlands, polluded and hc. Idk what you mean by commander being "ballanced" now, it was and now it's just terrible.

Not to mention commander Is not the one unbalancing the game literally TDS sinse the begining was balanced with that until hardcore update because since that the towers get even More dps and still adding game breaking things like the flags meanwhile the gamemodes still the same, literally commander start being a secondary option because the actual TDS Is totally beatable withou the commander literally all the gamemodes are super easy to beat withou him,and even hardcore or any other like badlands started to be winnable withou him at all,so no he Is not the OP thing who all thinks he Is getting broken because he increase the dps of Broken towers that's why he looks like he Is the reason but no the reason Is the unbalance between towers and zombies right now, for example before hardcore commander was balanced and if no one believed it play TDS legacy, i played alot of marches in that game and all are easily beatable withou him because the towers are like the actual ones for being too OP but not in the way of getting big dps they are OP for things like range slowdown or exposive but the difference of old TDS and the actual one Is all the enemies was harder but beatable withou commander that's why commander Is balanced and it's not it's fault the unbalance of TDS it's just the devs heavily buffing the dps of the towers and the gamemodes being the same wich Made the coa Buff make the OP towers alot More op
Basically the devs should just Nerf the broken level 2 of commander but keep the ifn coa Chaín for 3 comandersfor a bigger price for the tank ability
And i forgot to say the ability Is abit bad Is alot better using these money for anithint else than spawning a tanks who atleast do like 1k per hability for way too expensive price and big cooldown, that hability Is only going to be used if you have all maxed with the tower limit reached just because you Will not have anithing better to use the money

-Now spawns 3 APCs (2 Gunner, 1 Missile)
-Reduced cost for ability (3k -> 2k)
-Increased placement limit (3 -> 4)
-Reduced CTA cooldown (40 sec. -> 30 sec.)

Commander is one of the necessary needed in HC by making it more expensive, less range and delayed Coa well as you know Commander is really dependant on HC even on Earlier lvls and early waves and you can't use consumables on HC (unless)

And the fun thing is that it was originally commander from Tower Battles, and up for today it is able to be chained, giving 75% fire rate buff, 25% range buff and also with vehicle summon and air strike ability. And that’s pretty balanced because unless you have op towers u won’t be able to buff towers efficiently, so it’s not like a p2w tower.
On the other hand tds devs made this game too easy and reliable on consumables rather than just one-purchase tower so we will have to grind more. So yeah say out that loud - commander rework is basically a nerf

My main problem with the rework is the Apc have too low of hp and in my opinion should have 100 dps for the gunner apc and 80 dps for the missle apc

I really cannot Express how dumb it is to cry over a commander rework because it hss 5% less firerate buff, literally that is pratically nothing and it only makes a tiny difference when you use the abillity on alot of high dps towers like g mini and accel

I have just one problem with this update is that commander range is decreased. Which makes it harder to do stuff And The fact that they gave every detection to commander is a little insane. Like common, the tower dose just sits their until you activate an ability. Which the fact they increased the cooldown is worse. It does a good amount of Damage. But only after like 2 rounds worth. And lastly, the 2nd ability is great. But with draw backs that kinda bring it down. First of all, you need to have 3000 on you to activate the ability. The second is that you need to get max commander to activate it, which by time you get it. It will be mid-late, the cars are powerful, but they don’t stop. So depending on the map. They will die faster than you can respawn them, but other maps are better because you can respawn them faster than they die.
I say that they changed commander, but it feels like a nerf, But not as bad as the community says. I just say. Increase its range. That’s it, 3 rework commander towers can’t even have the radius as of old commander, which is annoying on certain maps.
My only complaint is just the cooldown lmao. Every thing else I did not care at all lmao

IMO APCs are trash. Way too expensive since they’re more needed mid game but you can only really afford them late game. Personally I think they need a cost decrease or a buff.

Honestly, I think the Commander is a low A-tier. The APCs are kinda decent, but not really that reliable. Also, the fact that you have to rely on a (potentially) random teammate to get the perfect chain is pretty annoying.

Ok, here's what i have to say: it feels more like a huge nerf. First, the ability got ruined too far, 40 second cooldown and in early levels it just isn't good, and the fact that you can place only 3 down and it's range got decreased by a lot. Second how are you saying that the ability is broken? 1 tank and all nine of those apc's are gone, and it costs money to get them, so it's only good for mid game due to it being a max lvl thing, and now every strat that does include commander just got basicly deleted, making all those really useful and effective hc strats just go, and they did all of that just for extra dps, who uses support towers for their dps? Third, the chaining that the old had wasn't complete game breaking, you could still lose easily without a good defence, even with a good defence, you could get overwelmed in gamemodes like badlands, polluded and hc. Idk what you mean by commander being "ballanced" now, it was and now it's just terrible.
